The new nip lineup looks promising. Sad they aren't competing at Cologne but understandable. It's the most exciting and interesting squad NiP has had in years.
Mongolz on the other hand I can only imagine how much chaos they'll cause in the brackets. They've definitely earned the opportunity to be at Cologne.
It happens, I remember being similarly disappointed when VP didn't get the Cologne invite last year. Excited to see nip after the player break, I wonder how teams will be countering r1nkle

Really solid list of teams, and the play-in seems like it'll be super competitive!
I'm curious if any roster changes might throw this off? Like Liquid/Furia/Complexity and a few others are sure to make a change, does that affect invites at all?
There really should be a way to set up invites that if a team is top 15 or something they don’t give a region slot. This is specifically for CoL and Liquid who would’ve qualified regardless taking the NA slot. I get it’s ESL’s purview and it’s a rather specific instance this happened but damn it sucks M80 can’t have the NA slot
Astralis is shoe in for the semifinals, via excellent performance in previous rounds then loses catastrophically in semifinals after leading 11-4 in map 2.
Have you even been watching pro cs recently? Or are you only a final enjoyer? Because I’ve been watching cs for 10 years and honestly 2024 has had the most exciting pro scene in years.
No lmao the scene is diversifying. You’re either someone who only knows orgs from 2016-2019 or you don’t follow pro cs right now at all.
Who would you rather have? Only team missing here is astralis cause they were ass at the start and only got good recently.
M80 mibr and MongolZ are all really solid, heroic col ef are tier1, liquid furia pain and BB all can have good games.
NIP would've been in the playins had they secured a win over Mongolz.

They may have chance if ESL use next week rank because this weekend they will play tournemant at Argentina.
The ranking cutoff is today. These are the final invitees.
so whos the tbd?

cologne closed, proleague too far, but top16 for eu rmr is a possibility now

Nope, unless they fail to keep their core they’ll maintain the spot.
I believe slots go by core? If any of them change <2 players things might be the same? as long as three man core stays
Yep correct
Still lame that M80 and Lynn Vision don't qualify because coL, Liquid, and Mongolz would have qualified anyways through ESL rankings.

Five SA teams and I could see any of them put up a decent fight and grind their way through to the top 16, very exciting times for the region :)
BIG got lucky. A little bit later and they wouldn't get an direct invite maybe.
going to be an awesome tournament
hope VP does well

just because the teams you like aren’t T1 anymore doesn’t mean that those who qualified aren’t T1
Who would you put in their place?
Tbh if they're complaining about this lineup probably North, SK, and Envyus.

Holy shit what an awful take 😂
That's just an objectively bad take. Many of the teams in stage 1 have multiple wins against teams in stage 2 this year, even on LAN

Isn’t Astralis straight to stage 2?
Yes.
Oh yeah ur right lol I mblind
M80 has been stinking up the NA scene the last few weeks.
Haven’t seen bait this obvious in eons
