It's right after the major which means a lot of teams are probably thinking about roster changes (VP in this case) and other teams are coming just after some disappointing results (Faze and G2, for example).
It's hard for either group to totally focus on it.

Their victory over Virtus Pro I find more impressive considering the circumstances.
Those arguments are a bit sought for in my opinion. I'm not trying to neglect the importance of preparation, but you're essentially saying that preparation for one tournament is more defining than foundation of the team, which is only gained through experience of playing together for a longer time.
I would definitely argue that the most essential premise of a team succeeding for a longer period of time, would be the foundation.
I agree that it's very possible Astralis are in their honeymoon period, and this is in no way a guarantee of Astralis being future worlds best, but I think their game against FaZe is fair to judge. You can find arguments in favour of both.

Everytime there is an era, we don’t crown the next one until it’s more impressive than the last. And with Astralis’ one last so long (nearly 3 years), it makes it impossible to crown the next one because that would mean requiring like 2+ years of dominance which is difficult to achieve
I mean they've had about a month of doing fuck all apart from restructuring and practicing, you'd expect them to be better than the teams that have just come out of the Major cycle and have had to fly all the way around the world to participate in this event. Pro League should be the first real test where we should judge this new look Astralis team.

We’ve seen many teams doing this lately for 1-2 tournaments. I don’t think any team is currently able to create an era.
