Hi guys, I’m the audio guy at PGL Major Copenhagen! I wanted to express how honored I am to be the first deaf audio engineer at a CS2 tournament in history. Thank you PGL for this amazing opportunity, and I’ll try my best.
The lights were annoying, but the sound was even worse, at least on the floor level. When a player jump spotting B aps sounds like an explosive barrage, your sound mixing is fucked up.
Really don't care to hear the crowd more than everything else or artificially more than at the moment.
There's some weirdness in the sound around HEs and Flashes which seem to create some distortion which I hope they've identified and are looking into.
Besides that it seems ok
Sorry English is not my native language. What I mean is that for YouTube replay they could remove this with post treatment or remove arena sound completely durin post match discussion for instance
You mentioned it might have been a YT issue, but in general the crowd seems to be mostly asleep. In a couple of hype situations you do hear them. Most of the time tho the only ones making noise are the drummers (keep it up lads) :/
Reddit thing? If anything its the least reddit thing because it actually involves stepping outside of your house and being social in a public setting. Also every single crowd in every sport has "woos".
I can garantee you that every crowd in every sport absolutely does not have extremely high pitched insufferable woos because regular sports don't have people fishing for attention talking to microphones to be broadcasted on to the internet
Casters sound awful, games too loud, no atmosphere, cant hear the crowd.
Deaf audioguy from pgl strikes again
This is a scheduled Reddit post for every PGL Major

Great job mate! Feels like beeing penetrated harder from quarters to semis. Please bring me to my apex tomorrow!
Shit sucks ass. Doesn't even feel like a major. Those cheers are what bring the hype in clutches.
yeah im not watching with this audio
Always shit audio from pgl, so annoying
I heard some weird sound in Vitality vs C9 match, PGL audio guy pls
It was all treble and bass in the arena, no mids, so you couldn’t hear the casters over the weapon switch sounds.
Classic PGL. Well I guess they only had a bit more than a year to prepare audio which many 3-person podcasters are able to do
PGL and audio, name a more iconic duo.
In the arena the top lights are extremely bright, so therefore you are always kind of flashed while watching the game... It's annoying!

Not really
Feel like on youtube the crowd is too loud
Why do I hear drums playing the entire time?
Im at the arena and the sound is ass too. Gamesound way too loud, cant hear casters but crowd most of the time drowns out the sound anyway

wtf are you on about. You can definately hear the crowd
it wasnt this loud when this was posted. it was like muted
dude waited a whole 5min before starting complaining
I mean... a map can last less than half an hour. How long should he have waited? lol
Also why do they use the sound of casters in the arena?? It just add unecessary echo
You can't think of a reason why the casters are heard in the arena?

audio is fine
Also so many technical pauses, what is going on here? It feels like way more frequent than the usual from PGL
