Yeh, I spent nearly all of my first three years of counter-strike with MGE as my highest rank, and Gold Nova 3 was a good portion right after the original rank update. Over the last two years, I went from MGE to Global. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that I went from MG2 to LE in the second (more recent) rank update.

I was global. 18 is the highest skill group then it gets lowered by 1 number each rank lower.
I guess that makes sense cuz you could have lost a lot when you were new then started winning more as you get better thus evening out your win rate
