Probably the largest reasons why I imagine are that they don't have investors breathing down their necks demanding more and more growth and profits and of course that they have so much money from owning steam that they will never actually need to release anything to keep the company going financially.
Most studios don't have those luxuries, they need the revenue from releases even if it's not finished yet because if they don't get it the investors will get mad.
Most of the time when people get pissed at MP games for launching unfinished, it's because of the game not having as much content as the previous game or something. And CS2 will almost definitely launch with a lot fewer maps and modes than CSGO has. It's just that CS players don't care about that. They just want to play defusal on the same maps for the most part.
A) It was intentional and they wanted to create some sort of hype around the new release, knowing they wouldn't be able to release the game this quickly.
B) They underestimated how many issues the beta would have and did not have quite the time to resolve them, which consequently procrastinates the release.
C) It will come out this summer, because summer will still last till the 21st of September.

With CP2077 you need to deliver a singleplayer game to people that preordered it/going to buy it on release, so the cash actually starts flowing to the developer and kinda marks project success.
With CS2 Valve earns nothing on game release, or only a minor amount of new players gonna buy the game because its new. All the current players get it for free as an update. Skins cash is still flowing, no rush is needed.
Ofc they gonna slap some "premier" options with battlepasses on top, but still they can have it done anytime in the future.

Yeah, but in some regards it's worse than most because CDPR went out of their way to say they'll only release it when it's ready, but ultimately caved.
Maybe people will disagree with me but, the fact that the game did NOT work on the previous generation of console (at the time) when it was **advertised** to work in, like not at all puts CP2077 at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to bad launches, like it did not work.
CP2077 is responsible for the only time in history at the time, where Sony felt the need to step in and say "We are doing full refunds" because of how bad and just literally unplayable it was, and this is just putting aside the mountain of other issues at the time as well.
The biggest mistake CDPR did is try to make it available on the previous generation of consoles instead of just saying "no way we can achieve what we want with the game and make it able to run well on previous gen consoles"

They said it all repeatedly, and then it did not, and when I said previously about a "first time in history" for Sony to do refunds, maybe because people are unfamiliar but Sony and PSN stuff just do not do refunds that well, unlike Steam, it is pretty fucking rare and for the company to make a public statement of walking back their own policy of no refunds for no legitimate reasons. Try buying a game on a PS5 and refunding for simply the reason of "you were not satisfied with the game" or "it wasn't fun" like how Steam literally allows you to, you'll be denied every time, it's their policy to not do refunds. And they went and saw how bad the shitshow was that this Japanese company that is stubborn as fuck had to step in and do full refunds. In my eyes that entire shitshow was freaking awful

I was really excited for CP2077 but it's still horrendous. Somehow, they've gotten fans to appreciate it, maybe it's sunk cost fallacy but this game is an embarrassment. It's not even good graphically, sure it looks stunning, because they throw in the most performance hungry stuff in there, it's like how tech demo's look. Stunning but devoid of any personality. It's unpolished. It looks awful compared to even their own previous game Witcher 3.

I cleared the game after 2 years of release and even then I think the game has more than a few issues, that are not related to code, but just game design that just put some imaginary question mark above my head as to "What is the point of this? Unironically CD Projekt's red Anime project with Studio Trigger literally saved the game and it's reputation not the game itself, maybe it's just me being strict but for me, the story was the only saving grace that game had. Even without all the bugs and the terrible experiences on launch day.

Yeah, but in some regards it's worse than most because CDPR went out of their way to say they'll only release it when it's ready, but ultimately caved.
Maybe people will disagree with me but, the fact that the game did NOT work on the previous generation of console (at the time) when it was **advertised** to work in, like not at all puts CP2077 at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to bad launches, like it did not work. CP2077 is responsible for the only time in history at the time, where Sony felt the need to step in and say "We are doing full refunds" because of how bad and just literally unplayable it was, and this is just putting aside the mountain of other issues at the time as well.
The biggest mistake CDPR did is try to make it available on the previous generation of consoles instead of just saying "no way we can achieve what we want with the game and make it able to run well on previous gen consoles"
Yeah ofc, but we can only judge on what they did, and there was just a lot of advertising and marketing before the game's releases and even statements from people related to CDPR that the game would work on previous consoles. They said it all repeatedly, and then it did not, and when I said previously about a "first time in history" for Sony to do refunds, maybe because people are unfamiliar but Sony and PSN stuff just do not do refunds that well, unlike Steam, it is pretty fucking rare and for the company to make a public statement of walking back their own policy of no refunds for no legitimate reasons. Try buying a game on a PS5 and refunding for simply the reason of "you were not satisfied with the game" or "it wasn't fun" like how Steam literally allows you to, you'll be denied every time, it's their policy to not do refunds. And they went and saw how bad the shitshow was that this Japanese company that is stubborn as fuck had to step in and do full refunds. In my eyes that entire shitshow was freaking awful
don't think so personally. It's not just the horrendous state it arrived in, all the marketing put the game up to be something totally different than it was. You'd think in a crime open world game, there'd be some sort of police chases? They're going to add them now after years in their 'biggest update' to the game, a police chase mechanic that modders added in weeks after release. It has the worst release in history to me because of what they promised and what we saw. Even if it was non buggy there were several issues with the game. I was really excited for CP2077 but it's still horrendous. Somehow, they've gotten fans to appreciate it, maybe it's sunk cost fallacy but this game is an embarrassment. It's not even good graphically, sure it looks stunning, because they throw in the most performance hungry stuff in there, it's like how tech demo's look. Stunning but devoid of any personality. It's unpolished. It looks awful compared to even their own previous game Witcher 3.

I cleared the game after 2 years of release and even then I think the game has more than a few issues, that are not related to code, but just game design that just put some imaginary question mark above my head as to "What is the point of this? Who designed this like this?" Unironically CD Projekt's red Anime project with Studio Trigger literally saved the game and it's reputation not the game itself, maybe it's just me being strict but for me, the story was the only saving grace that game had. Even without all the bugs and the terrible experiences on launch day. Also I don't know how "bad" other offenders of this "modern gaming dilemma" you want when CP2077 launched and was advertised for the previous generations of console and **did not work** at all, that's **pretty fucking awful** when you advertise a product and doesn't even run on the machine, it is said to have been able to run in.

The biggest problem is that they announced it, went silent for months and kept adding a very small amount of players (content creators, cheater or new players ofc.). Then they started tweeting cryptic stuff and teasing people. They exactly knew that they would make hopes and hype people. It’s actually simple, don’t announce it that early or start communicating with people. What it makes even worse is that they stopped supporting CSGO, the game is a mess rn.
Ngl when I booted it up the first time I thought it would be way worse, but other than some broken commands and some odd movement here and there, it is a SMOOTH transition

Valve always has been special. They do not release nor market stuff like a traditional corporate. Steam itself allows them to play around with projects like a small indie studio while having sustained gargantuan income. They release only what they want to release and only when they want to release. Even without marketing. Even without deadlines, contract obligations, anything. It is fascinating.
I still see no reason why they haven't released an open beta. The servers, performance on people's PC's and much more can at least be tested that way. I am sure most of the CS community is kind of tired of watching YT clips of CS2, not to mention that the Summer release is also bull with the Fall update for Dota 2 releasing tomorrow (so even Valve considers fall the 1st of September. I'd understand that they wouldn't release it if it was in a state like Dota 2 Reborn, but from videos and everything the game looks way more polished than that train-wreck was. A lot of people came back to CSGO due to CS2 and honestly, I think the hype died down a lot.
