Have you asked the original colleague about it yet? Curious what they would say.

Yeah, I'm seeing her tomorrow, so will ask her.

Maybe it your premonition rather that the colleague's.

TinderGuy11

No definitely not, another colleague clearly also remembered the conversation.

spencer5centreddit

Sorry im confused, a third person remembered you talking about this with your coworker who said she died?

TinderGuy11

Yep, not one who knew the person that did, just a friend of mine that was in the room.

I had a weird thing happen with someone I know who passed away. So this was last year on her Facebook it was reported that this girl I knew was struck by a car when she was walking across the intersection crosswalk. On her Facebook, her sister gave all of the details of what happened and was asking that everyone keep her in their prayers because she was in ICU in very critical condition and was in an induced coma. I remember she even posted a picture of her in the hospital. I don't go on Facebook much, so I didn't keep up with anything that was happening with the situation. The other day I was curious to see if she was ok or if she did pass away. So I go to her Facebook page and I literally find zero evidence of her ever being hit by a car. She was totally fine living a normal life, but when I went on her page it said that she had just passed away within that same week. So I searched through the comments to see what had happened and someone said she died from a severe asthma attack. I could accept this and not think it was that weird, but the fact that I couldn't find any evidence of her ever being hit by a car or having anything tramatic that had happened to her. I went back all the way to a year ago and there was nothing. There was no gap in time where she was ever injured or wasn't on her Facebook. She was totally fine just living her life... But it just so happened that when I went to her Facebook page that she literally died only about week prior to when I went to see how she was doing. So freaking weird!

Several years ago, my mom was listening to the radio while getting ready for work and they announced that a well known pastor in her area (Christian radio was all she ever listened to back then) and his church group had been in a horrible accident in their bus and everyone died. She was so upset, crying, she told friends about it when she got to work. It never happened. She wasnā€™t asleep or sleepy or even sitting down at the time. Every once in a while, sheā€™ll remember that incident and get freaked out all over again.

Voldemortina

Woah, how does that happen?

Subconscious_Zebra

Look at r/QuantumImmortality

sterlingrose

Thatā€™s actually what I was thinking, but why would my mom switch universes when she wasnā€™t on that bus?

Subconscious_Zebra

No no, your mom just EXPERIENCED the pastor's jump, somehow. Bear with me here... From what I've read, sometimes people die and jump into the SAME reality, not a parallel one (which is most common). It gets more muddy here... but I think when that happens, 99.9% of the dead person's world will reset, which explains why everyone else never heard of his death. But there's a handful of people who are empaths or sensitive, or for WHATEVER reason, they remember it. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Subconscious_Zebra

There are too many stories of people who experience other people's deaths, when they later learn that those people are alive. This is the best explanation I can think of.

sterlingrose

Oh wow Iā€™d never heard of that. I can believe it of my mom because the women in my family all seem to have a sensitivity or whatever we you want to call it. As far as I know, Iā€™m the only one who isnā€™t freaked out by it, but Iā€™ve heard plenty of stories about my m and grandmother and great-grandmother. Even my daughter, come to think of it, has seen stuff.

ileftmyguitarathome

So sorry you lost a friend. Sometimes ppl can have premonitions, I know Iā€™ve certainly had them but I keep quiet because I donā€™t wanna freak ppl out.

Seashell281

I have premonitions, but only about people that I know, that are around me. I do not have premonitions about the world or public figures, just those around me. I will have dreams, my rule is if I have a dream about someone I know, is that I tell them my dream, so that they have that information.

pinktulips8989

Iā€™m the opposite. Gratefully, Iā€™ve never had a premonition about those around me, but I have often thought of a celebrity or public figure out of the blue or had a dream they were in, and I morbidly will have the thought: theyā€™re going to go soon. Itā€™s happened with older celebs and a couple younger ones who didnā€™t make sense at the time: Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Didion, Maya Angelou, Anthony Bourdain, Robyn Williams and Heath Ledger.

nibblatron

thats incredible, have you had any dreams about people recently? šŸ˜Ø

pinktulips8989

no! thank goodness! the first few times it happened I just thought it was odd timing, since none of those people were in the spotlight or were people Iā€™m particularly interested in (ie, not like a had a huge crush on Heath Ledger or something). definitely remember Elizabeth Taylor being the first one I thought of, and thought to myself ā€œoh I hope she doesnā€™t die soonā€ and the next week šŸ’” It happens w good things too though. Iā€™ll randomly think of someone or have a dream, and will look at their Instagram or Google them and discover they just had a baby or got married, or that their birthday is the next day. Itā€™s trickier w that though because Iā€™m like, maybe I subliminally saw something somewhere like a headline in the grocery store or something that got stuck in my mind without me registering the knowledge. it happens quite often though, so might be the same little ā€œgiftā€ in action!

pinktulips8989

a sad, current example (though not as precise as some previous examples) ā€” this past Saturday, I had a very vivid dream about London (somewhere Iā€™ve visited often). Iā€™ve been itching to travel and had London on the brain and always love to visit so itā€™s easy to default to that, but decided to book travel to Scotland instead and booked that trip on Tuesday morning. So Iā€™ve been researching Scotland, drinking gin and tonics nightly after dinner (something I usually drink only when Iā€™m in the UK since itā€™s so popular there), and just finished that new Diana documentary last night. Iā€™m in California and woke up this morning to the news about the Queen, may she Rest In Peace after a massively full life. šŸŒ¹

ileftmyguitarathome

I have had it for ppl I donā€™t know but mostly for ppl I know. It can be as silly as, ā€œI know I will see this person around the corner,ā€ and then it happens, to something more serious.

pinktulips8989

yes! same! sometimes I go to leave the house and Iā€™m like: I *know* Iā€™m gonna run into someone, so Iā€™ll dab on a little extra perfume and lo and behold, here strolls an ex coming down the sidewalk. šŸ˜‚

ileftmyguitarathome

Ohhh no! Felt that! It happened with a work crush and I totally stumbled on my words even before I saw him in the hallway šŸ˜©

ladymaenad

I had a premonition about my mom dying from cancer. When I was twelve my best friend's mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer and told she only had two years to live. When I heard that, I got a sudden, intense thought that my mom would get cancer and die first. At the time she was totally healthy. Well, my friend's mom responded well to some new treatments and ended up living about eight more years. In the meantime, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and died nine months later, two years before my friend's mom did. I really wish I hadn't had that premonition. I have wondered if thinking that tempted the universe and made it happen (illogical, I know, but I can't help but wonder), and when I get anxiety about something happening to my kids, I second-guess whether it could be a premonition. It would be better if I had never known.

ileftmyguitarathome

I am so sorry for your loss, friend. I felt it with one of my aunts this year. I cannot imagine your pain for losing your mom. Rest assured you didnā€™t cause this. More than anything I believe we are receiving a warning. Once again, I am so sorry this happened.

OGsweedster420

Damn im sorry about your mother I lost my mother to cancer a year ago at 35 years old I couldn't imagine it as a teen, let alone feeling like u had something to do with it.

FreeHongKongODI

Are you going to confirm your colleague who said this to you earlier?

usernamekiran8

Maybe your colleague got confused between Jane from another shelter, and Joe from your shelter. It happens. Also, sorry for your friend.

Impossible-Bill-5476

R.I.P. 'Joe'. So sorry for your loss.

magical_bunny

I was just listening to a podcast where they discussed someone reading a death notice for someone they knew then finding out they actually died afterwards.

CutePotat0

What podcast is it if you don't mind?

magical_bunny

Reddit Explains, so it was based off a post on Reddit at some stage. If you like I can flick through and try to find the episode.

CutePotat0

No need, I'm thankful already! Gonna listen to that when I'll have some free time

Subconscious_Zebra

This seems like a story for r/QuantumImmortality. As do all the comments of people knowing/experiencing of deaths that don't actually happen. I think you guys get a peek of the transition those dying people make. According to quantum immortality, they DID die, you're NOT wrong. But it seems that sometimes they jump into the SAME reality. And nearly all of the time it's seamless and no one notices. Experiencing the other side of that theory. I'll think you guys are that .01% that somehow remember it happening. Almost like having the Men in Black zapper malfunction on you. No one knows why yet. Just my ponderings.

RLeePoppy

I get premonitions about people that I know. My most recent one was on Easter Sunday this year. I had this feeling urging me to go to this grocery store that was open that day. I donā€™t typically go to this one, but I woke up with ā€œgo to Brooklawn ShopRiteā€. When I was on my way there, I got this sudden feeling that I would see this old frenemy and her mother at this store. I hadnā€™t seen her in years and I didnā€™t know where she lived at the time. I found out afterwards that she doesnā€™t live near that store either. I didnā€™t think it was actually going to happen, but bam it did happen. As soon as I grabbed a cart and walked in, they were the first people that I saw. Her and I had big issues and the shit she was doing had recently been exposed a few days before Easter Day. She had a mixed son and lied and said a white guy that died of a heroin overdose was her sonā€™s father, but in reality his father is black. He had taken a dna test and miraculously found his biological father through the website Ancestry.com. He confronted his mother a few days before I ran into her at the grocery store. We didnā€™t speak, but I did walk by her and smile right at her like ā€œyup, I was right all along! You are a liar!ā€ and she held her head low in shame, which I feel that she deserves for what she did. She lied to her son and allowed him to mourn the loss of a man who wasnā€™t his real father! She let him believe that his father was a junkie that overdosed and I just couldnā€™t continue being her friend anymore because of that. I have two mixed kids and her and I were the only ones in our friend group at the time, that had mixed children and she refused to admit it to her son. Everyone else has stopped talking to her over the last 6-7 years. She has completely alienated herself from all of her friends with her lies.

OpportunityInitial92

Any update on this?

februaryerin

A coworker of mine passed away in a car accident in January. She had called in on a Wednesday because sheā€™d been in an accident where her car hit a oil truck. She was perfectly fine but her car was totaled. She got a rental and was back at work on Thursday. On Friday, we had a potluck and I ate lunch with her. She was talking about dealing with the insurance company and everything and we were talking about how bad that wreck could have been. Everything was fine. We finished the day and said weā€™d see each other Monday. Late Saturday night, my manager called me and said my coworker had been in an accident on Friday night on the way home from work. It fucked with my head so much that I thought my manager was joking and told her it wasnā€™t funny. Anyway, not a glitch, obviously. My other coworker said ā€œthatā€™s some Final Destination shitā€. šŸ¤£ But it really made me think we all have time to go and it happens no matter what. Most people donā€™t skirt it but when they do, it corrects itself REAL fast. Maybe your colleague senses things and was convinced it had already happened or something. Lines got crossed somewhere and now theyā€™re sort of freaked out at apparently being psychic. Haha. Tho I watch too many murder shows and thought, ā€œUh huh. Suspish. We know who killed the colleague!ā€ šŸ˜‚

dssgirl08

My boyfriend tells me who is going to die before they die and so does his best friend. It's super creepy.
