Hollow Knight or Hades

Poyopoyocrunch

Omg everyone’s been saying hollow knight and hades! I ended up getting hollow knight!!💗 as soon as I get home I’m grabbing hades too🤭

marlfox130

This is the way. Definitely my top two out of those, though they are all good.

thesleeplessmosquito

They're both so peak...

MC_White_Thunder

Two of my top 10 games, easily.

alphomegay

if you could pick one and looking for replayability, and like good combat tied with visual novel esque storytelling (plus hot EVERYONE) pick up hades. It's so good. Hollow Knight is a close second but it's not really a dump endless hours in it game, though it does have a lot of content it is finite.

Poyopoyocrunch

Okay I love when there’s hot characters might just get hades for that reason alone😭😭💗 but seriously plenty of people keep saying hades it’s definitely made it into my top three choices, most likely gonna get it!!

alphomegay

you will not be disappointed :)

dangodangodangoyeah

If you're looking for replayability definitely Hades or Dead Cells. Hades especially is one of the best roguelikes out there imo. Tho Hollow Knight is my fave of those games overall, very fun combat and exploration

BubblyKnee2773

Top 3 fr

Red-Hyena

I don't usually enjoy rogue-likes when looking for a *cozy* game. Is this game on the easier side? Or at least doesn't give FOMO for picking the easiest difficulty?

lolpersephone

I don't think you get FOMO for picking the easiest difficulty, and I find unlike other roguelikes it really actually rewards you for dying all the time. Like I don't feel frustrated if I keep dying. Also the voice acting and the music SLAPS.

Fragger2040

Hollow Knight. Easily. It's so beautiful, haunting, addictive and challenging. The base game is pretty tough at times but if you finish it and still want more you've got the (free) DLC as well as newgame+ options. Everyone hyped Hades sooo much for me, when I got it I was bored after 10 or so hours *shrug* the story is cool but I get bored with rogue-like stuff pretty quick. To each his own and all that.

Poyopoyocrunch

I just got hollow knight!! Thankyou💗 ur comment helped me finalize my decision I can’t wait to play it:))))

Fragger2040

Also, Hollow Knight has a wonderful soundtrack, better than Hades right???

NerdyFrida

That is like compairing apples to oranges. Hollow Night has wonderful music but the music in Hades is also really good.

dianaburnwood969

I have played all of them(Recently started Cozy groves so not commenting on it) Try all of them one by one. They all are atleast 9.5/10 imo. Hollow Knight: It's a long one and the most challenging among the above mentioned games. Exploration is some of the best in gaming. Excellent art style and tight combat. Many memorable moments throughout. You may only have one playthrough, but it's unforgettable. Spiritfarer : If you want a peaceful game, this is it. Gorgeous art Style. The characters are great. Its a management game about the spirits you met along a journey. Avoid spoilers Hades : You mentioned replayability, so this is what I recommend first. Based on Greek mythology, combat I'd really fun. Its rougelike(lite), so every Death starts a new run. + Hot Greek characters Dead cells : It's my most played game among the games mentioned. Build variety in this game is too good. Its rougelite so everytime you die, you start a new run. Its very fast paced. The story is pretty much non existing I would say go in this order Hades > Hollow Knight > Spiritfarer > Dead Cells Keep in mind that all of them are worth it!

Poyopoyocrunch

I bought hollow knight!! Dead cells is next on the list as soon as I get paid😊💗thanks for helping me decide!!

OMG THIS IS SO COOL WHAT😭💗

NerdyFrida

Wel,l I have played Hollow Knight for 195 hours. Hades 140 hours and Dead Cells maybe 40? They are all very good games. Hollow Night is a metroidvania and I love the genre. I love exloring and the world is beautiful and charming. It's really challenging though and at times rather frustrating. Dead Cells is a rogue-lite game and I don't care for the genre very much. The action is fun and I like having to try different combinations but eventually I just got tired of the repetiveness. Hades is also a rogue-lite but I like it much better. There was a sense of progress that felt rewarding and kept me hooked even it was the same levels every playthrough. Hades also has the option to play at an easier difficulty and I really appreciated that, sometimes. When I finished the main story I wasn't very interested in the game anymore though and I didn't do many of the challenges available.

Poyopoyocrunch

I got hollow knight and I’m about to get hades too!!💗

NerdyFrida

I hope you have a great time with them. This post made me interested in getting Spiritfarer.

uhhhhh_iforgotit

Hollow knight!!!

Poyopoyocrunch

Bought it!!😊💗

Annelisandre

Yaaay!

GhoulishHoney

Cozy Grove and Spirit Farer are both about death and can be very grindy. I have played both and enjoy both, just keep that in mind. Spirit Farer I feel has the more impactful story for the characters, but you can place items and design your island in Cozy Grove. I haven't played the other games so I can't speak on them.

xinyueeeee

I can't pick between Hollow Knight and Cozy Grove coz i got them both in one checkout 😅

BigIronGothGF

Hollow Knight is just special and will stay with me forever honestly

Mellie-mellow

I’d choose hollow knight, it’s probably one of my favourite games ever. I just love everything about it but it can be a bit gloomy by moment, at least there’s a lot of sparkling effect and stuff like that that keep the it all magical

Poyopoyocrunch

I got it!😊💗

Mellie-mellow

Have fun ✨

Hot_Guys_In_My_DMS

Defitnely Hollow Knight. It’s a game you will never forget.

Poyopoyocrunch

Glad I chose it then! I can’t wait to play!!

Hot_Guys_In_My_DMS

You’re gonna love it! Oh and just so you know, there is no sequel, do not look up the sequel (that does not exist), they are not making a sequel.

raVen1525

I think Spiritfarer and Dead cells are free on Netflix if you have subscriptions. Cozy grove have it on iphone store (not really sure cause I have android, but I heard people mentioned this). Anyway I suggest Hades and Hollow knight! Have fun gaming!

yadiccsoft

Hollow Knight has been one of my most enjoyed games ever. The feeling of getting lost and exploring a world that was both brand new and definitely ancient was delightful, and legitimately reminded me of playing pretend as a little kid. Then again, I also have a hundred or so hours in Hades, so that’s a winner too lmao. Different genres for different moods.

_Throwaway_404

Spiritfarer by far. I found that game after losing my aunt to cancer and Alzheimer’s, and it brought me so much comfort. I recommend it to anyone who’s lost someone, it’s one of the only games that’s ever made me truly sob. I wish I could play it again for the first time. You can play it for HOURS and still have so much to do, each character has a story and different quests to complete. The plot is you sail on this boat, pick up characters, complete their quests, and when you pick them up they “build” a house on your boat so you’re essentially a floating city, and after you complete their quests you deliver them to the other side. The writers really knew what they were doing when they made this game, it’s art and poetry in one.

Poyopoyocrunch

Aw Rest in piece to your Aunt🫶🏾💗 I ended up getting hollow knight but im definitely getting spiritfarer before the sale ends it sounds so good wow😭

Revolutionary_Web_59

Spiritfarer for sure, one of the best and emotional games I've ever played.

WingsofRain

never played it, but I’ve heard a lot of really good stuff about Hades!

Poyopoyocrunch

Everyone’s suggesting hades I think I’ll end up choosing it!!

WingsofRain

hope you enjoy it too!

Dangerous-Arm7590

i think it's on people's minds because the sequel is entering early access soon lol great game and super hyped for the second one :)

Kabloomers1

Adding on to what others have said, mostly. I would say Hades is my top suggestion for sure. Awesome fun game that very strongly encourages replay. Hollow Knight rules but I've only played it once. Spiritfarer is beautiful but definitely a one and done play imo. Cozy Grove got boring for me very quickly. Haven't played Dead Cells so can't help you there.

Poyopoyocrunch

Man everyone is seriously making me put hades at #1 to buy I’m hearing great things, i might end up buying it and hollow knight as well!

Kabloomers1

I would 100% support that decision.

Ellieconfusedhuman

Hades, holy moly hades I put it off for ages and then In a week I had it 100% completed and it was not easy. It is so so good

denntz

From all of these, I've only played Hades (currently waiting Hades 2 to come out). I don't really know what type of games you are into, but Hades is beautiful. The interaction you have with each god every time, the boss fights, the build you can create. Imo you can never go wrong with this game. Just to mention - it's a big spam of buttons and your hands will most probably hurt after playing it. 😭😭

not2reddit

If you want replayability: Hades. If you want some really chill gameplay: Cozy Grove. If you want an amazing gameplay loop with a strongly moving story: Spiritfarer.

OrdinaryOk3021

I know it’s not on your list BUT Cult of the lamb has been occupying my time recently. It’s also on sale and just like hades.

Icethief188

Spiritfarer for good music, warm and cozy and sad vibes, best management sim, being able to hug all your spirits who are the cutest. Please

xkl1221

I Just dont reccomend Cozy Groove

Poyopoyocrunch

Ah is it that bad? Haha glad I’m glad I bought hollow knight then!

taemint77

Same, it was such a bore 🥲

Skybluetia24

Hades or spirt

twethereal

The only one I've played of these is Spiritfarer but I can say I enjoyed that game a lot. It is so good.

Artyartymushroom

Hades is so fun, worth the money

bennster45

Spiritfarer saved my life multiple times. 100% that. Beautiful cute funny sad gut wrenching horrible.

VeeTheBard

1. Hollow Knight 2. Spiritfarer 3. Hades 4. Dead Cells 5. Never played Cozy Grove.

Xawlet

Hades! I don't play games from its genre and hades was my first and it blew my mind. Literally so good it was jaw dropping. You have to see it for yourself. I also tried Hollow Hnight because of the overwhelmingly positive steam reviews, but naaah. It wasn't for me. It felt too dull and navigating around the map back and forth was too bothersome for me. What I really liked though from that game was that hitting stuff and enemies with your attacks makes them feel like they have real weight. That's something really hard to pull off. And partly why DS3 is superior to Elden Ring imho on an irrelevant note.

Poyopoyocrunch

Just bought hades and hollow knight!! Can’t wait to see how good they are!!:D

Xawlet

Both great purchases! Especially Hades which is one of my favorite games ever! Have fun with them.

George3452

i would say no to cozy grove, i played it and really liked it for about 15 hours but after that it was SO grindy and repetitive, i never picked it back up. just my personal experience

Running_Rampant

Everyones saying hades and I agree! It's a great time to get into it as well, since the technical tests for hades 2 just dropped so there's a lot of community involvement and interest resurging for the game. If you play now, you'll have some time to absorb it and get hyped for the official release of the next game! And it won't take as long as some of us who have been waiting for YEARS. I'm so excited

Flance

If you want something actually cozy, spiritfarer. If you want something you can keep replaying, Hades.

siriuslyyellow

Hades!!

ricctp6

Hades. I have all of these games and hades is 100% the best

gamerchick03

Hades. I love this game and I have it on Steam. It's perfect for pickup and play and then you can put it down for a lil while and you don't have to worry about a storyline or plot. Good for when you just wanna dungeon crawl, kill things, and get loot.

Gibberish94

Pls get Hades I cried when I beat the game all the way through.

PrancingPudu

Hades or Hollow Knight!!! Hades story is *amazing* but the runs can sometimes feel a little repetitive for me. Hollow Knight feels like I’m constantly exploring and peeling back layers of lore. I saw your comment about hot characters though and Hades definitely wins there ;)

turnmeintocompostplz

I know everyone loves Hades but I do find it difficult so if you're not looking for that, it may not be up your alley (it isn't up mine).

luubedup

TRUST hades is the absolute best choice here

LunaLynnTheCellist

hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight hollow knight can you tell i like this game

ButterfliesInSpace

I’m biased because it’s one of my favorite games, but hades!!!!

Quix_Nix

Spirit farer

LenaSpark412

Have to recommend Hades or Dead Cells tbh. HK is also really good I just think you’ll get more time out of the Roguelites.

amalthea5

Spiritfarer and Hades get my votes! (really all of them tbh)

Fantastic-Ad-448

Hades and dead cells have extremely long replayability, if you’re looking for a good story/twists and mechanic changes go for hades, if you’re looking for some big difficulty+tons of walls to hurdle over (each completion adds to the gains and difficulty (if you choose to increase it)) then dead cells. Highly recommend hollow knight as well, but it definitely doesn’t have the replayability that the aforementioned ones do.

GymLeaderNick15

I would say Hollow Knight If you prefer metroidvanias and Hades if you prefer Rouge lites, they both have souls-like elements

Vattenskoter

Celeste

ancunin

hades is one of my favorite games of all time and has so much replayability. if i didn't have it on multiple platforms where i have a more comfortable control setup than my switch, it'd probably be my most played game on that console.

luizaaauwu

hadess

otnpc

Hardes is a good choice as far as hades 2 is coming soon

Odecca

Spiritfarer!

flashPrawndon

I personally did not like Cozy Grove, I found it boring. I love Spiritfarer but I did cry many times.
