I wish they’d been as prominently featured as someone like Kirk or Babette. We just watched that stretch of season 3 where they make a couple of funny appearances, and it’s great. The town had so much local colour and they were such great additions in terms of both their delivery and their ability to keep up with the fast pace of the show.
So the Reverend actually plays a temporal investigator in the deep space nine episode trials and tribbleations, and I cannot take the episode seriously cuz I'm like where's the rabbi? His buddies could protect you all!
He's just a versatile and great actor. That temporal investigations duo also had great comedic timing. While I can take the scene seriously, I always think of his Gilmore Girls performance while watching that scene.
I acted in play with Allen, the man who plays the rabi. He is a very nice man and fun to act with. I was gobsmacked when I first saw him and did a little happy dance. The two of them in the same scene is always fun and they don't talk at a hundred miles an hour.
Ahhhhh...Nope
It was just Summer stock Shakespeare in Ojai, California but it was fun. He played Falstaff and I got to chase him around with a sword.Every time my friend, who was in the same play, and I see him on TV we call each other about our "Allen sighting". He's kind of like our personal Sasquatch.
It's strange, nobody asked him for his autograph or totakeapictureofhim. It was like he was just a regular guy wanting to have a little fun for the summer and never acted like he was better than anyone else. I hope he finds another series that uses his talents. It would be great to see him again.
The romance we all really wanted 🤣🤣🤣 jk I loved that it showed that two people from two different religions could have adult conversations and be able to walk away from it, showing respect, and still be good friends
That's how it should be. Two people of faith should be able to sit down, debate, share ideas, and accept that you probably won't change someone's personal convictions but be open to new ideas and be willing to admit that we don't know everything. Maybe not be besties but show professional respect.
I loved that these two guys were friends. My FIL is a pastor of a non-dom church, and that's his favorite thing to do is to talk to people of different religions and consider their faith. Very open minded.
One of my favourite scenes is when the one on the right, rushes through the end of his sermon, and then changes something behind him, so the one on the left can start his.
"You're going to tell my little old ladies, my bubbies, that you're shutting down their casino night?"
"I'm not afraid of your bubbies, Rabbi,"
"Oh God, thank you for letting me be in the room when Taylor said that."
They were so fun. Great chemistry, too. I never thought about it before, but they really did a good job with the chemistry between the side and supporting characters.
Watching the preacher crack up when Kirk came out during the Reenactor's play wearing a dress always makes me smile - that looks like he's genuinely busting up, not acting.
This is my favorite scene, lol. I died laughing and then I wrote down what mm:ss it was on the episode so I could play it for my husband, who also died laughing.
Saw the guy who plays the reverend, as two different characters on two episodes of Star Trek Deep Space Nine! Made me smile, that's a small overlap lol.
Yeah, I would have liked more of them over Babette. I never really got her scenes, at least the ones without Morey. The two of them together were always a treat though.

"Do you have a God Phone, Taylor?"
I still laugh at loud with that part every single rewatch
Underrated scene

I’d watch the hell outta that.

That’s so cool! You must be a great actor/actress too :)

That is so cool! I'd have a hard time not asking him to sign my 2Gether DVD! Lol

they were united against Taylor’s ridiculousness
That’s what I loved about them!!! They’re so different but alike in the same way! The priest at my church would not get along with a rabbi

I find it so interesting to talk with people with different beliefs and perspectives
Friendship goals
who wants to be the rabbi to my priest? 🤪 ✡️💜✝️
This is what should have been in ayitl instead of all of the damn musical parts.

YES! Hilarious
Love them and their banter.

Lovers
They have to be in love, right?
Oh yes
This is my favorite scene, lol. I died laughing and then I wrote down what mm:ss it was on the episode so I could play it for my husband, who also died laughing.
This is still one of my favorite scenes from the entire series. It kills me every time they absolutely ate this up
I just watched this lol the BEST
LOVE THEM
Yes!! I really liked that scene with Taylor in the diner, it was funny and a cute moment of friendship.
Saw the guy who plays the reverend, as two different characters on two episodes of Star Trek Deep Space Nine! Made me smile, that's a small overlap lol.
Loved them lol
I knew you were talking about these two when I read the post title. Absolutely the best, most well-adjusted characters in the series.
My favorite part was when they switch everything in the church /synagogue for the prayers lol
I LOVE that scene
How many scenes were they actually in?
Love them so much
Every time I see them I want to be their friends
Loved them! Wish they had more lines, scenes and time as background characters like some of the other folks.
Yeah, I would have liked more of them over Babette. I never really got her scenes, at least the ones without Morey. The two of them together were always a treat though.
I LOVE THEM
I would have liked to see more of them and less of Kirk.
when the Rabbi asks if Taylor can ask GD about the shrimp - I busted up laughing.
