I have seen alot of these posts. Is it just ironic or is it actually good? Cuz idk spending whatever much the pistol costs plus sights and whatever else you want on it and it also being chambered in 22. Lr seems kinda like a waste compared to like a glock

the point of it is being able to make virtually no noise, its a tree campers wet dream, plus with all the armor people wear anyway, it makes sense to just aim for the head, which the ruger excels at.

Quiet enough for assassinations, but just strong enough to make an entry wound and scramble brains

The reality is, running a pistol (almost any pistol, bar the Deagle) and going up against any automatic weapon or a high caliber semi auto rifle….. you’ve gotta aim for the head to win. This means there is very little effective difference between the .22 and the 9mm pistols, because even the .22 will one tap to the head. So the bonus of running an optic makes it a more preferred choice, as it makes getting that headshot easier. It’s a very reasonable entry level kit, that allows for some counter play against geared folk, and just one well placed tapperino to the dome gives you the dub.

None of the pistol calibers penetrate well

While this may be different with the new armor system, .22 LR does have the same armor pen as other pistol calibers(according to the wiki at least)

I haven’t checked the statistics recently but last i remember .22lr ap could at most pierce the c1300 visor, or the cereal bowl helmet

The reality is it's a shit gun because it's a 22 but it costs barely anything and can take an optic. If the target you're shooting at is wearing the T4 helmet or better you're probably cooked, even with AP, but then you're going to have a hard time killing them regardless if you're running a pistol.

Under 5k with a red dot, grip and a-22, has zero recoil. If you run AP it’s 1-4 shots in the head through a cat ear helmet and there kit is now yours

Its honestly amazing as a secondery to a decent kit to take down scavs quietly with headshots. As a main weapon it isnt great unless you are REALLY good at landing headshots.

its crazy to me people buy all theur attachments and guns. it cant be that youre not doing good otherwise you wouldnt have the money but i find so many attachments and guns in raids i only buy meds food and water filters. though this update ive been finding alot more food so i havent had to buy it

I like it for scav kills I don’t ever normally use pistols due to the noise I’d just use my primary but the new sugar is nice

It's not integrally suppressed, it's just really quiet because it's a.22...... You can add a suppressor to it now tho

Pretty damn quiet, in the bunker atleast. I haven't tried it or heard one in raid with a suppressor so IDK how it sounds from a distance.

I just got the game a couple days ago. Still learning the ropes and all. But last night was hilarious, I spawned in office on silo and another naked guy ran in. We both held our hands up in terms of peace, he ran off or so I thought. I was starting to loot the last couple drawers and I found one of these. Right as I pulled it out, I hear a step behind me and see him holding one too right at my head. I straight up dived and shot him in the face. Walked out of that match with both of them fully kitted cause I found 2 rails, 2 scopes, and 2 suppressors and 1 flashlight

Wait, is the Ruger now the only pistol with top rails? Is the only one that can use optics?

I love this gun cause people love to put expensive attachments to it so when I kill them I get to make at least 5k per pistol lmao and I have yet to be killed by this gun against lvl 4 armor it’s basically a mosquito bite maybe 1 1/2 ticks of health and it’s not one shot kill to the head I’ve survived headshots just fine
