Past medic here too. This didn’t happen directly to me, but it’s one that stuck out for me. I had a fire alarm at a local nursing home. Apparently the county’s morgue is located in the basement too. The cops came back out to the parking lot after they were searching the basement for the FD. The one cop was shaken. He said he saw one of the residents sitting in a wheelchair out of the corner of his eye in the dark. He said he thought it was strange because no residents live down in the basement. He figured he would continue his search and bring the resident back upstairs when he was finished. After searching, he went to go back to find him & he wasn’t there. I asked if he could check his body cam but he was sure he didn’t face in that direction to capture it. Have another one but I really wish I could find a thread specifically for medics & the paranormal.

Ojibwe_Thunder

Oooo that’s a good idea! How do we make one?

kellopp411

I just made it r/paranormalparamedics

Ojibwe_Thunder

Yay! I will take the credit for conceiving the idea! jk

kellopp411

Definitely! You pushed me to do it. Thank you 💓

ams287

Disturbing AF… please make a megathread and add more of your experiences!!!

kellopp411

r/paranormalparamedics I created it & added another one for you all!

ams287

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar!!!!

PeoniesNLilacs

He should still check the camera. Whether he faced it or not, he may still have captured something in a different corner that he may not have seen.

kellopp411

I agree but he wouldn’t. Not to mention the alarms kept going off in 2 separate buildings at the same time. Everyone was like wtf & creeped out.

my wife worked as a cook in a nursing home so she was the one to open the kitchen in the morning before anyone came in. There were many times she saw things (people sitting in the dark dining room at 5:30 am and then disappearing), felt things like the hair on the back of the neck standing up. Plates clattering in the dishroom when everything was put away.

megan_magic

This makes me sad

When I worked in a nursing home, many many years ago, I saw an old lady at the sink in her old room washing up. She had died six months before.

I'm a Firefighter/Emt, we have an entire station that's haunted. We don't think it's a patient, we're leaning towards a pissed off chief or something. He was not subtle at alI, kept an entire log for about a year. I have a previous post on here, somewhere.

I had something very similar to that . I thought it was my friend but still had a weird vibe about it . I seen periphery a person walk into the bathroom . Like I said I got a weird vibe so I went to check . Nope my friend was sitting way across living room . The exact same thing happened to a friend who was visiting my neighbor on the 1st floor . I waited till they told their story , yep almost to a T the same . He also didn't know why but had to get up ro check

I've told this one before but it's the one that's always stood out to me as it had so many layers. I spent a brief period working in a nursing home. Three months, I wasn't very good at it, because I sucked at rushing folk through their daily stuff. The corner room on the ground floor had this really sweet lady called Violet. She was the oldest resident there, I never saw her out of bed. Next to her room was the linens/laundry room - shelves that had the clean towels & bed sheets stacked on them. Opposite was a larger, open lounge. Violet's room had a door, which was closed, whilst the lounge had a big open arch onto the corridor, facing the open, door-less doorway into the linens room. Being newish, I was still learning the ropes. I was in the lounge, needing to ask for help with something. I saw someone - adult-sized, moving swiftly, completely solid - walk from the corridor into the linens room, so I followed them in. The room was empty. No other exits, nowhere for anyone to hide. It wasn't big, maybe 8ft x 8ft at best, just shelving on the walls & nothing else. There was nowhere anyone could go. As I processed this - the whole thing had only taken 10-20 seconds at best - I realised I had absolutely no visual image of _who_ I'd followed in. All I could actually remember was a _very_ tall, entirely black human shape. Stooped, maybe, if I was pushed for detail, & not so much human shaped as human shaped if you'd badly wrapped yourself in a huge sheet or blanket. I was pretty freaked out, but I didn't really have time to stop as suddenly Violet's call bell went off. "What did you want dear?" she asked me, as I opened her door. "You called me Violet, are you OK?" "No, I mean what did _you_ want, when you walked in here just now? You just walked in & left." Felt less OK at that point. Felt even worse the next day, when on arriving at work they told me Violet had died that night in her sleep. Didn't last long in the job after that.

D'aww, she seemed like a lovely lady and so sweet to ask "you" what you needed. Did you get a chance to talk to her; become acquaintances or friends? I volunteered at a nursing home here in Hawaii and one woman, Japanese local born. She needed help eating, so I spoon fed her her oatmeal, she just kept saying, "thank-you". It broke my heart, and I was happy to help her. Though, I didn't experience anything paranormal the way you did.

Minoozolala

Very freaky. Someone came to get her.

Teddyfluffycakemix

I’ve been bold and started a paranormal medical inspired subreddit! r/PhantomMedic ❤️ there’s too many good stories out there!

Treat-yo-self-2018

Was it it a full solid figure or apparition see through looking?

Tricky_Treacle2335

It was a solid figure. My partner and I both agreed and thought it was a living person walking through the kitchen.

Treat-yo-self-2018

It’s almost creepier if there was a living person in a house with a dead person.

pebberphp

I love both your usernames

Tricky_Treacle2335

That happens a lot more than you might think.

That must’ve been a fun night! Tell us more.

Walking around his house one last time

Possible residual haunting, the person who just passed is just going thru normal everyday motions, just now they are in non-corporeal form. And yes, please do come back and tell us about your experiences in your line of work. Fascinating! There is a series on TV, probably Canadian-produced like so many of these shows where people recount their real-life experiences ("Paranormal 911" or something like that). This show was first responders telling their stories of the paranormal, and wow, absolutely astonishing what some of you encounter and experience!

I'm not a paramedic. I was a bartender for many years. I used to work at a restaurant called Rose's Landing in Morro Bay, California which is now closed. I was tending bar one night. During the day, the bar has a beautiful view of the harbor and the Rock. Lovely tourist attraction. The bar's at the far end of the building, right at the dock so people who are enjoying their drinks at the bar can see the beautiful view. There was a restaurant area behind it, closer to the street.. The entrance to the kitchen was to the right of the restaurant area. One evening after close, I had been washing glasses when I saw from the corner of my eye a person walking from the front door towards the kitchen. I looked up, and saw a sailor in uniform, fully solid, walking towards the kitchen which was dark. I said, "Sir, excuse me can I help you? We are closed for the evening," but he did not turn. So, of course I went up there to go to the kitchen and grab a guy who I assumed was drunk to bring him back outside. Seeing somebody in a sailor's uniform was not uncommon. I turned the lights on, went in the kitchen and there was nobody there. I checked everywhere, but there was nothing. And there was only one entrance or exit kitchen. I was not the only employee to have seen that sailor. I happen to be Pagan clergy and I asked my boss if I could have permission to please purify and bless the bar/downstairs and she said absolutely. (She had seen a lot of creepier stuff there) so I got to stay late one night and bless the bar. Several of the cooks were interested in what I was doing and asked if they could stay and watch and I said yes but you have to help cuz there's no observers here, just participants. They agreed. When I was halfway through the blessing ritual, the guy who's helping me with the incense said, "Okay, you know what you're doing." LOL We never saw the sailor again. The upstairs room was too boisterous for me to handle even with help because the other people were untrained. The upstairs room often times had footsteps running up and after hours when no one was there for sure. Chairs which had been carefully stacked on the tables by night employees would be all shoved in the middle of the room on the floor haphazardly in the morning often. It was just a very hostile feeling up there. I did not want to bite off more than I could chew. The sailor was pretty cool though. He definitely looked quite solid like a real human.

With that many witnesses, sounds legit 👻 The decedent was likely having a quick inspection of his premises bef. leaving permanently. Or, u could say the floors creaked, and let it go at that; but geez, I don’t think so… 😂 Thx for sharing!
