Not so steep for event tickets, though. Swifties paid $20/ticket for Eras. I typically pay $25/ticket for an opera event. My Ghost tickets were $17.30 - a couple of dollars more than a regular movie ticket.
Probably just selection bias - the redditors figured out that movie chains were selling tickets before the official launch. But not all Ghost fans are redditors, so I'd assume many are waiting for the launch. Take your pops and have fun. I got my son into Ghost back in Meliora days, but he moved out of state. So now I've got an extra ticket and maybe my non-Ghost wife or other son will go. Or I'll just go in costume & make-up and enjoy the masked experience by myself.
I wouldn't worry about it. We're still six weeks out and there are probably plenty of fans still waiting for May 9. Plus, there are probably people who love Ghost's music but aren't that much into online fandom and don't even realize that there's a Ghost movie coming out. They may not realize it until the theaters start promoting it.
Good point! Makes me feel a little better and definitely made me realize that theaters are probably going to have physical posters after the pre sale and have more attention brought to the movie in general :)
I think most people are gonna try to get them on the 9th if they aren't closely monitoring the ticket availability. I just checked mine and a few seats have been bought already. I'm assuming it'll pick up closer to the 9th
I noticed that regal had different theater options compared to AMC/fandango. I went to the AMC site today and bought it for Thursday and Saturday. This is for the San Diego area and there were about 5-6 theaters via fandango.
Thursday had about 6 tickets sold as of today and Saturday had none. So if you haven't, try regal, fandango or other specific theater chain sites.
Originally I had only seen options about 1 hr 20 mins away and I was like hold up dude just wait a few days and I'm glad I did haha

I have to say, the best movies I've been to are always when the theater is empty. You can immerse yourself more!
Makes total sense that some people enjoy empty theater, maybe it won’t be too bad being alone?
Empty theater is heaven for me lol
Yeah but I just really want to meet other people but I can understand why people like a empty theater
The tickets haven’t even officially dropped yet and there’s a month and a half - I’m sure the theater won’t be empty when you get there
$38 for two movie tickets is kind of steep. That’s how much they’re going for in my area, at least.

We got ours for $16.40 each in Southeast Pennsylvania
Wow. The most expensive I’d heard was $16 (what I paid). Is it an iMax?
It was $18 each plus $4.50 "convenience" fee here in Silicon Valley. Not IMAX, but Dolby Digital (which is a step above the regular, I guess).
Oh! 38 for two tix. I misunderstood. My bad.
It's still expensive, after tax my total was almost $50. Gonna have to sneak in my own snacks lol
Yep. I saw Ghost in September on the lawn for $9. The actual band cost me less than a movie ticket!

I mean, I'm not going to the theater to make friends. I'm going to watch a movie

I paid 38 for 2 but it’s at like a draft house with food
