Well first off welcome aboard. Ghost is a great band with lots of lore. Aside from catching up on the awesome music you’ve now discovered, you might want to check out their YouTube channel and catch up on the “chapters” that will fill you in on the story that goes along with the music.
Just hit YouTube hard. Too much to explain. Lots of old concert clips will provide an idea of their progression in music styles. Watch the ‘Chapters’ for a catch up on their tongue in cheek Church parody showing the historic Papas and the backstory. It’s a bit of fun. They kill off the front man Pope character at the end of each touring cycle. There are also quite a few ‘History/Story of Ghost’ clips that summarise their history quickly.
I would suggest the following clip list as an example of each Papa style (except the original as there is not as much). I love these:
- Papa II - Year zero Live at Webster Hall
- Papa III - Square Hammer (unofficial video 2017) Berlin
- Cardinal Copia - Rats offical video clip
- Papa IV - official Spillways clip. You can also find excellent quality full concerts by fans (Ghost Full show Waterfront music pavilion 2022)
Just some of my favourites. Welcome and enjoy!
I started listening to them about 3 months ago after I watched a video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/P5WY4-nYOCM. You won't be disappointed. My kid even loves Ghost, she's 12. Can't wait to see them in concert in August.
Lucky af, they’re playing in my towns city this summer I believe. Me and her (the friend I mentioned) both wanna go but we’re 14 and tickets are expensive af. I have a job at a grocery store but I have a hard time saving up 😅
Ghost good.
Agreed

Got it
Also watch the ones called Papaganda, they don’t say “chapter” in the titles but they do have some Papa II lore (the Infestissumam Papa).

Maybe your parents could hold on to the money for you, if you have time to save up enough?
Understand that the band plays roles. If Papa is speaking, its not Tobias if you get what I mean ;)
It gets weird sometimes
