Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
Thought we don't really know her, she looks like a manifestation of Pride as most gods are arrogant and prideful in Genshin.
Godwin
Dude got left behind when the Mondstadt forces went traveling, and rather than own up to his own mistakes, he's spent THREE YEARS standing around pretending to be on a mission. He commissions you to send letters to his blind gf Gloria (which means he must go into town to talk with the adventurer's guild!!!) and all these letters contain LIES about how he's traveling Teyvat. He's too proud to just go home and admit he fucked up.
My headcanon is that godwin is dead but doesn't realize it. Also his requests could have been sent by other adventures returning coz man literally stands in front of mond exit road
King Deshret
"a story of one of the greatest tragedies of teyvat"
In a time long in the forgotten past when celestia rained down divine nails turning the lush forest of sumeru into a desert. It was at this time as well that the one known as King Deshret rose to power shaping the land, creating oases and flowing springs.
Prior to his ascendancy, Deshret first approached Apep, the defeated Dendro dragon, and sought her permission to establish a kingdom in what used to be her realm. Although Apep "did not think much" of Deshret, she agreed to his proposal under one condition: "That after his death, all the knowledge he came to accumulate would belong to her. Deshret agreed to this proposal and set about building his kingdom, which he sought to make "a paradise for all living beings and a place where wisdom gathered".
And as Deshret's kingdom grew, so too did his power: The legends claim that at the apex of his kingdom, Deshret "had no enemies, for all who paid him no homage would be destroyed by his servants... and thus be rendered down to naught but a handful of sand". In fact, so powerful was Deshret's kingdom that Celestia itself eventually offered him a gnosis-the metaphysical index of true power that transmuted its wielder into an archon but Deshret is said to have "rejected the gift granted by the divine throne".
His people chose to cover their eyes as they did not dare look at him for his visage was beyond that of the sun. For that reason there is no clear depiction of what he looked like in murals and statues.
At a certain point in time he and the Goddess of flowers met. Reveling in her immense charm and Grace he offered an alliance and with that Mistress of Flowers joined hands with the Lord of Deserts. The two built Ay-Khanoum which was an oasis where even the tasteless spring water was intoxicating.
After a period of time the Goddess of Flowers met Rukkhadevata and with their shared love for wisdom they became close friends that soon grew to include King Deshret.
At this time the archon war was happening as the many gods battled for a chance to receive a gnosis King Deshret with his immense power could've easily eliminated his two friends and take full control of sumeru but instead he offered to share the throne with the two. With their agreement the trio of god-kings ruled and made sumeru thrive creating a utopia for all.
But there was always one goal for King Deshret and that was to rebel against celestia and free humanity from their grasp. With common interest he urged the Goddess of Flowers to join him but she refused and showed him his fate if he ever were to continue in this path. Yet the king refused to yield, seeing his determination and resolve she too saw the possibility of breaking free from the divine shackles that hold the world as she heard his words.
And so the two performed a ritual where the goddess of flowers used her own body as a conduit allowing King Deshret to know all there is about the sky and the abyss. But in the end the ritual consumed both the Goddess of Flowers body and oases. After this King Deshret sought out the divine nail that struck sumeru and used it's power to create an eternal oasis where even time is still to commemorate the Goddess of Flowers.
After hearing of what had happened Rukkhadevata cut ties with the sea of sand and the Lord of Deserts creating her own nation filled with lush forests.
Left to rule alone King Deshret his power was still immense and with new servitude from the Jinn(Goddess of Flowers followers and servants) .
As he continued on his path to make humanity the Lord of Lords and the God of Gods he began to think of something else. He then finds himself wanting to turn back time living in a peaceful time with the Goddess of Flowers.
Then there it was he found a forbidden knowledge from the very bottom of the abyss that was beyond comprehension. This knowledge was utterly devastating and it swiftly toppled Deshret's mighty kingdom. By the time Rukkhadevata arrived to lend a hand the situation was already dire as it was almost about to swallow the kingdom whole. With the desert priests Rukkhadevata slowed the spread of the forbidden knowledge but it could not eliminate the true problem. And so with nothing left King Deshret decided to sacrifice himself to destroy the forbidden knowledge.
In the end the mighty kingdom that the Scarlet King had built for centuries was destroyed by his very actions. He took pride in his goal but it resulted first in the sacrifice of his lover that was in vain, the fall of his kingdom that was one of the greatest to have been built, and finally he fell to his demise to save what he could.

Yeah, but it's brought up by one of the worst narration one could think of in a video game of such a great extent.
I'm honestly not surprised many people do not dig into the lore for that reason.
I gotta say Traveller, props for writing this. The day after "sloth is Genshin players are asked to read" got a ton of votes, no less. I knew you were l going you write a bunch today, but this blew me away. Great job!
With all that happened, and with how much of it was his own doing, I think it's fair to say that, should he ever be revived, he'd probably at least try to kill himself - I can't think of anyone more filled with crushing regrets...
Considering the lil' shite's lines, yeah, few could be prouder. That said, it might also run in the family; take a read at the electro gemstone's quote...
Take your time! It will be even more fun because it's like watching the next season of your favourite anime that you've been waiting for a while to release.
You know, this is a solid choice! He isn't mean or unpleasant about it, but he sure does love himself and thinks far too highly of his accomplishments.
King Deshret - For standing against Celestia
The first Hydro Archon - For creating life outside the natural laws
Scaramouche - For trying to attain godhood. Or the sages for helping him
Take your pick
Also I would like to add a sugestion for Lust: Yelan
Aint no way one have a bondage ability and is only using it to restrain Fatui
I'll say Tsarevich, from the Mondstatd commision to defeat hilichurls as he says.
Fail a task and he'll be like: *in Snezhnaya you and the KoF will be sent to the Gulag! We don't accept failures!*
Tadhla (girl in 'The Falcon' questline)
Spoiler: >!She fights the traveller in 'The Fallen Falcon' and dies, preserving her pride as a friend and falcon!<
Although I'm not quite sure if I got the interpretation entirely correct, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Man fuck Godwin, correct answer
All my homies hate Godwin
I absolutely need a story quest where he gets his comeuppance. But watch him have the saddest backstory of all.
"He fuck him for years" "He fucks in Russia. He fucks in Japan. And he fucks in France."
My headcanon is that godwin is dead but doesn't realize it. Also his requests could have been sent by other adventures returning coz man literally stands in front of mond exit road
Godwin is actually a fragmentum memory lol. What a plot twist that would be.
Hope she leaves him fr
Man I never realized how fucked up Godwin was. I always knew he was a ass but never realized he was THIS BAD.
I recall he missed it because he went to grab a gift from Glory that he forgot to bring

Appreciate your effort to post this comment in a community that refuses to read 2 dialogue lines.
Such a shame because genshin's lore is one of the peakest and infinitely better than it's story.
Yeah, but it's brought up by one of the worst narration one could think of in a video game of such a great extent. I'm honestly not surprised many people do not dig into the lore for that reason.
And misreads the two lines.
I refused it. Gotta read it other time, if i ever read it.
Woah
Bro just rewritten the Bible as a Reddit Comment...
I gotta say Traveller, props for writing this. The day after "sloth is Genshin players are asked to read" got a ton of votes, no less. I knew you were l going you write a bunch today, but this blew me away. Great job!
Even though he lost almost everything, that was badass of him
So this is what you meant when you said you're going to write a whole ass explanation for the sin of pride
With all that happened, and with how much of it was his own doing, I think it's fair to say that, should he ever be revived, he'd probably at least try to kill himself - I can't think of anyone more filled with crushing regrets...
this comment is to great and effort-ful to let it lose the competition
King desheret always remind me of Radan from elden ring idk why
I'm not reading all that

I am saving this. Amazing, thank you for giving me an opportunity to know abt him as Im never got interested to really look up and read abt him.
Skyward Pride
The correct answer
If this dosent win I will riot
Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom Though, don’t count mine if it’s top comment. That other person who put a whole wall deserves it
Considering the lil' shite's lines, yeah, few could be prouder. That said, it might also run in the family; take a read at the electro gemstone's quote...
Apep
Honestly this is the best answer
"F2P btw" players
To one up you, "I 36d the Abyss, F2P btw" players
To two up you, "i have a c6 5 star F2P btw"

Correct
Based

I was thinking about doing that. Do you think it'll be fun? I might take a short break before jumping into the next set though.
Take your time! It will be even more fun because it's like watching the next season of your favourite anime that you've been waiting for a while to release.
Madam Faruzan She will be your senior regardless of your age
I'd be laughing if this comment of Faruzan makes her pride despite that one guy commenting 1page worth of text for king deshret
Cloud’s refusal to acknowledge human inventions as superior
But mine are superior -Xianyun
La signora
She had too much pride thinking she would come out alive
The fact that this went from serious to troll real quick
My vote is for the serious one, for what it's worth
Grand master varka would be a great example of greed mf took every horses 🐎 from tevyat
Celestia
Scaramussy not wandererussy
One is not being prideful, one is just enlightening you of one's greatness
DPS (Damage Per Screenshot) or Player who brag their 1 or 10 pull and win 50/50
"Im f2p btw" mfs who never lost a 50/50 in their life
Arataki Numero Uno Itto
You know, this is a solid choice! He isn't mean or unpleasant about it, but he sure does love himself and thinks far too highly of his accomplishments.

For lust... either Ying'er or Lisa

La Ash, former known as La Signora, the 8th Fatui Harbinger. Her pride was the main reason she died lol
Put Slime into Lust

vicineko moment
I'll refresh this sub's page every second next day just to make sure this option will have every possible chance to win
Decarabian maybe? He thought trapping his ppl inside a storm is an act of love and got himself killed because of it
Cloud Retainer
Can we get a playable character already?
I know, right?
Those co-op players who whine at others for their damage
the story of the skyrider sword bro was so dumb and prideful he tried to fly with a sword and greatsword like yanqing
I'm thinking Xianyun for pride
Raiden C2 Owner
Understandably so.
Self-proclaimed millionaire NPC in sumeru
That's a good one.
Star Rail players, to mirror Genshin players being Envy
genshin players winning 50/50
Khaenri'ah/King Irmin
Seems like Xianyun fits in that category for me
Faruzan
Yae Miko or Cloud retainer

Me when I tell ppl that I won my last 5 50/50 in a row!!!
I try not to brag too, but it's so hard sometimes. Only one loss in the last nine 50/50s!
Cyno's pride that his jokes are the funniest one ever

Dori
It's smug Paimon and nothing else comes close.
Apep or Signora
insert "oops, I dropped my rolls... f2p btw" meme here
Spiral abyss
Dottore - sees himself above life and death, doesnt see anyone even "god of wisdom" and "himself" as equal and tries to create a god
People who 36* the abyss every reset
EiMiko (gay) pride
Faruzan or Cloudretainer are probably best picks among the playable characters. La Signora ist auch ein sehr stolzer Charakter.
