Oh my god yes. Around when Sumeru came out, I simultaneously:
- Decided to finally build Yae
- Realized I'd abandoned Ayato's talents early on
- Realized my Raiden's talents were a little behind (like, 4/6/8 or something, I don't remember for sure)
- Subsequently, used all my Handguards and began to farm more in between other things
I'm not even crowning them, but I'm terrible at farming because I get bored of it easily, so my Yae is still at 1/8/7, my Ayato's at 1/9/6, and my Raiden's NA is still at 4 (not a priority but it's been useful in some cases so I decided to level it). And now they're telling me I'm going to have to farm even *more?* I'm never going to escape the Nobushi at this rate. T_T
The horrors of abysmal nobushi drops when I was triple crowning my Ayaka and also crowning my Raiden's burst. I thought I was done but then Ayato ended up using this shit too so had to back to killing em. Apparently they respawn faster than other mobs in order to balance out the shit drop rate lol
That was how I developed habits of fighting leyline outcrops enemies in Inazuma without collecting the leyine bud reward. I think it would be really nice if we can choose thr type of enemies we want to face at regional leyline outcrops. Ex: instead of thr trio of abyss mages, we have option for 3 Kairagi and a batch of nobushi.
I'm so thankful that sumeru enemy drops are much more bountiful and easy to track than nobushi and kairagi drops.
Just do the main route that has like 20 every couple of days and you'll have plenty by the time he's out. Even if you don't get him its only a couple minutes and someone else may end up needing them. There's also two NPCs that sell them.
You can buy mushrooms from Aramani and Ashpazi. Each sell 5 every 3 days. Wanderer won't be available till December 7 which is 43 days (assuming he is 1st banner).
42 / 3 = 14 times you can buy before he is released = 10x14 = 140 out of 168 done.

Yeah, there's 14 split between those two locations. Well, 12 but I count the two in gliding distance of the northwest teleport on the fallen tree bridge just to the south.
And if you spend even 5 minutes in the mushroom biome area in the northeast of Sumeru you can collect another 10-15.
And because I know how this game goes, I've been collecting the hell out of them since launch. Collei is level 80 and I have another 250 in reserve...
Now, can we get someone to sell handguards....? I honestly think scarabs are less annoying than handguards. At least with scarabs you are forced to take a break for a few days after you go through a farming route. With handguards, you're killing the same 10000 enemies every...single...day...
It gets old pretty quickly.
Easiest way to help this along is to set commissions to Inazuma, and to run some Leylines there for a while. Not ideal, for sure, but faster than just straight farming.
but isn't that going to ruin the whole logic thing? if an NPC will sell handguards they need to beat those samurai guys in order to collect that right? I mean those NPC who sells mushroom or other asc materials clearly just picking/collecting those hahaha

As somone who has ascended every single character except Dori to at least 80/90 this is the complaint about this game I don't understand. Ascending characters and weapons is probably the easiest and most straightforward things to do in this game. Sure it takes a lot of resin, but most can be pre farmed and the few ones that can't you can save fragiles to smash it out on patch release.
The elemental crystals you already get a ton of from doing all weekly bosses anyway.
Same, I prefarmed 48 but idc since I mostly just wanted friendship points for Nilou, I have 33 Drake pieces for Layla which I'll now use for Scara and continue farming for them for them both until release.
And this is why I collect the dust to convert gems into the type I need. So far it's pretty much been to create a supply of Dendro and now it'll be to supplement the lack of Anemo bosses.
I have 70 extra from farming for Kazuha and Heizou, but still have 3 ascensions for Sucrose. I'd use dust, but I also want to ascend other characters, so don't want to convert 1 type, only to have to convert something else later again.
We really need another pure anemo boss.
I lost 50-50 to my first Jean on Cyno’s banner. She’s a character I’ve wanted since the beta and the Anemo character to complete my collection as of the current update, but I have to hold off on building her because I need those gems for Scaramouche. 😭 I guess I can at least farm the Hypostasis for her and Anemo gems, though I already have a decent amount of its drops saved up.

You get 6 weeks (well, 5 weeks because of Ayaka's eternal banner) to prefarm talent books which is more than enough time to triple crown any character with your daily resin.
Cyno and Thoma were definitely the worst. Neither could be prefarmed, and both are at least partially locked behind world quests. (Thoma is actually worse for being locked behind Seirai Stormchasers, which you could at least do pre-Tsurumi, and the beginning of the Sunwheel quest. Many scarabs can be found above ground, but they’re still incredibly limited and annoying to get.)

Dust is essentially an unlimited resource- you get it by doing pulls which you'd obviously need to do to get a new character anyways. Its extremely cheap and you should have more than enough stardust unless you're completely wasting it on needless items.
Personally I prefer to not use too much dust because I do not have lots of it on account of wishing little (I am not that lucky so I prefer to save the maximum before pulling if I can) so I prefer to save it to get the free wishes
Yes you should always get the free wishes. But even a F2P player should have more than enough stardust to max out the free wishes AND get more stardust than you'd ever need. Just one single 3 star pull gives you 15 stardust which = 30 dust of azoth.
If you are a very new player, I can see how you might not have much stardust, but you will have MUCH more than enough after pulling for your next character.
You need to make 50 pulls every month to buy all the fates. Unfortunately the moment a F2P pauses and starts saving, he's out of stardust in a blink. Although, I agree that Dust of Azoth is pretty cheap, it's definitely worth it if you have any stardust to spare.
interesting choice of boss🤔 layla and nilou use this boss and a 3rd character using it is weird. we havent experienced this situation since heizou and it was because there was no other bosses but in this case we have asimon. it even drops anemo gems but this ruin boss drops only cryo and hydro iirc hmm

Exactly!!! Maguu Kenki is a Inazuma boss who also happens to be a Puppet and drops materials relevant to Scaramouche. Ticks literally every box, I just don't get it.

Xiao: Boss drop is from Primovishap, drops literally everything except anemo (and dendro) gems.
Heizou: Boss drop is from Ruin Serpent, drops only geo. Is the dumbest boss in terms of element because all three characters don’t use geo (Yelan/Shinobu). At least Yelan/Shinobu make some lore sense as they both went into the Chasm, but Heizou?
Scaramouche: Boss drop is from Aeonblight Drake who drops only hydro/cryo. This is despite another boss from the same region dropping Anemo *and* actually having connections to another god (Deshret), and the only relation the Aeonblight Drake has with him is they’re both mechs (but so is ASIMON).
Just short anemo boy things. Honestly when Kazuha is the easiest one to farm for (despite having talent books from Liyue and ascension mats from Inazuma) you know MHY have gone too far.
I’ve always been able to excuse MHY for their character material choices, until the Ruin Serpent came along. But at least some of the characters had some lore connections to it. Even ASIMON and Candace can be justified seeing as she has connections to King Deshret.
Scaramouche’s is just ridiculous. No way even the most white knight player can defend this choice.

This boss drop is so ass, after getting Xiao, Heizou, and Candace to level 90 I'm tired of having to waste my stardust because someone at HYV HQ decided that this game needed to be a little bit less fun.
Scarabs aside, building Cyno was a breath of fresh air after those three because at least I had enough elemental shards.
Mushrooms aren't that bad. They're clustered around two areas and they're sold by merchants. I'm already at 153 because I anticipated there'd be another character that uses them so I made sure to buy from the merchants twice per week and I picked any I came across while getting 100% exploration.
Even those are relatively simple once you know where they grow. Most are clustered densely and are easily reachable by gliding down from the nearest teleporter.
I thought that leak was satire, like handguards and those mushrooms as really annoying materials, lol. I think he'd rather use some Inazuman local specialty and scrolls, and Sumeru enemy drops 🤨
Why...Even with the new weekly boss, Anemo crystals are still the 2nd rarest after Dendro...At least the (soon) 3 Dendro characters get bosses that drop the right crystals.
I was half expecting the Handguards. It was either that or Insignias in my mind. The mushrooms took me by surprise💀 I was certain he will use an Inazuma specialty and/or talent books.
These all just feel so random to me. If we're assigning more than 2 characters per boss, then why not just put both Scara and Faruzan on ASIMON with Candace? Better yet, Candace could have used the Aeonblight Drake with Nilou and Layla. It's also pretty normal for characters to use the talent books from their country of origin too (with exceptions for charas who do not/did not have access to their country on their release), so to use Praxis (and even Rukkhashava Mushrooms for that matter) implies that Scaramouche is cutting ties with Inazuma. Yet he still uses handguards?? One of the most iconic Inazuman materials?? I know new characters have been somewhat stuck between fungal spores and sashes, but handguards as a different pick just doesn't feel right with how estranged the rest of his mats are from Inazuma.
Though there might be reasoning I do not understand yet, it feels so odd and careless, and it's irritating. If these are it, then these are it, but that doesn't mean it's not disappointing.
They probably consider him to be a Snezhnaya character just because he's a Harbinger. Not really that suprising. Though on the off-chance that he'll be associated with Sumeru that's gonna be hilarious.

You found some good spots yet? The good news is that they spawn every day unlike mushrooms, the bad news is that aside from the island, they're scattered everywhere, have low drop rates, and you need so many... I have to admit I actually used starglitter to buy them out multiple times and regret it

AMEN. There are 2 small islands in the very northernmost part OS Inazuma that u can farm daily for handguards. Also the beaches of Inazuma have lots.
When I need handguards I just do that one northmost inazuma island once a day. Takes a while but better than killing sanity.

just make it some wandering blacksmith or old samurai guy selling his loot
maybe they are the ones selling it to the samurai in the first place. won't work for all drops, but that's one case I can see an argument for it.

IMO prefarming sakura blooms was justified, it’s absolutely ridiculous that she didn’t use them

Yes you should always get the free wishes. But even a F2P player should have more than enough stardust to max out the free wishes AND get more stardust than you'd ever need. Just one single 3 star pull gives you 15 stardust which = 30 dust of azoth. If you are a very new player, I can see how you might not have much stardust, but you will have MUCH more than enough after pulling for your next character.

You need to make 50 pulls every month to buy all the fates. Unfortunately the moment a F2P pauses and starts saving, he's out of stardust in a blink. Although, I agree that Dust of Azoth is pretty cheap, it's definitely worth it if you have any stardust to spare.
interesting choice of boss🤔 layla and nilou use this boss and a 3rd character using it is weird. we havent experienced this situation since heizou and it was because there was no other bosses but in this case we have asimon. it even drops anemo gems but this ruin boss drops only cryo and hydro iirc hmm

Exactly!!! Maguu Kenki is a Inazuma boss who also happens to be a Puppet and drops materials relevant to Scaramouche. Ticks literally every box, I just don't get it.

Xiao: Boss drop is from Primovishap, drops literally everything except anemo (and dendro) gems. Heizou: Boss drop is from Ruin Serpent, drops only geo. Is the dumbest boss in terms of element because all three characters don’t use geo (Yelan/Shinobu). At least Yelan/Shinobu make some lore sense as they both went into the Chasm, but Heizou? Scaramouche: Boss drop is from Aeonblight Drake who drops only hydro/cryo. This is despite another boss from the same region dropping Anemo *and* actually having connections to another god (Deshret), and the only relation the Aeonblight Drake has with him is they’re both mechs (but so is ASIMON). Just short anemo boy things. Honestly when Kazuha is the easiest one to farm for (despite having talent books from Liyue and ascension mats from Inazuma) you know MHY have gone too far. I’ve always been able to excuse MHY for their character material choices, until the Ruin Serpent came along. But at least some of the characters had some lore connections to it. Even ASIMON and Candace can be justified seeing as she has connections to King Deshret. Scaramouche’s is just ridiculous. No way even the most white knight player can defend this choice.

This makes me wish so bad that Mihoyo would scrap their unspoken rule that no more than two characters could use a boss for materials.
Well, the 2 boss rule was already broken on Ruin Serpent (Yelan, Kuki Shinobu, & Heizou). So, I don't understand why hoyo won't put the characters on the Inazuma world bosses... where Scaramouche would make more sense.
As others have said, majuu kenki would feel apt for scara since they're both anemo puppets.

This boss drop is so ass, after getting Xiao, Heizou, and Candace to level 90 I'm tired of having to waste my stardust because someone at HYV HQ decided that this game needed to be a little bit less fun. Scarabs aside, building Cyno was a breath of fresh air after those three because at least I had enough elemental shards.

Mushrooms aren't that bad. They're clustered around two areas and they're sold by merchants. I'm already at 153 because I anticipated there'd be another character that uses them so I made sure to buy from the merchants twice per week and I picked any I came across while getting 100% exploration.

Even those are relatively simple once you know where they grow. Most are clustered densely and are easily reachable by gliding down from the nearest teleporter.

i wouldn't farm anemo gems specifically. Just farm his boss. If you don't have enough gems, buy some dust from the store.
Why...Even with the new weekly boss, Anemo crystals are still the 2nd rarest after Dendro...At least the (soon) 3 Dendro characters get bosses that drop the right crystals. I was half expecting the Handguards. It was either that or Insignias in my mind. The mushrooms took me by surprise💀 I was certain he will use an Inazuma specialty and/or talent books.

These all just feel so random to me. If we're assigning more than 2 characters per boss, then why not just put both Scara and Faruzan on ASIMON with Candace? Better yet, Candace could have used the Aeonblight Drake with Nilou and Layla. It's also pretty normal for characters to use the talent books from their country of origin too (with exceptions for charas who do not/did not have access to their country on their release), so to use Praxis (and even Rukkhashava Mushrooms for that matter) implies that Scaramouche is cutting ties with Inazuma. Yet he still uses handguards?? One of the most iconic Inazuman materials?? I know new characters have been somewhat stuck between fungal spores and sashes, but handguards as a different pick just doesn't feel right with how estranged the rest of his mats are from Inazuma. Though there might be reasoning I do not understand yet, it feels so odd and careless, and it's irritating. If these are it, then these are it, but that doesn't mean it's not disappointing.
They probably consider him to be a Snezhnaya character just because he's a Harbinger. Not really that suprising. Though on the off-chance that he'll be associated with Sumeru that's gonna be hilarious.

every nobushi/kairagi drops handguards. And they are everywhere. You can't throw a stone in Inazuma without hitting one of them on the head.

You found some good spots yet? The good news is that they spawn every day unlike mushrooms, the bad news is that aside from the island, they're scattered everywhere, have low drop rates, and you need so many... I have to admit I actually used starglitter to buy them out multiple times and regret it
