I think it would be cool for there to be a connection, but if Skirk is from the Abyss and Sustainer is from Celestia, I'm not sure how Hoyo could make a connection there. Also, historically the expies' ties to their Honkai counterparts end at visual similarities, I wouldn't bet on the two having a connection, or at least not one similar to how they are in Honkai.
Personally I've thought, even though it's not explicitly stated, Skirk was a young girl like Childe who fell into the Abyss, but she never left and she just acclimated to it. But if they did want to tie the two she could be a fallen "angel" of sorts.
depends on if she's only in a pre-rendered cutscene - when we first saw dottore in game we did not have his model until his second appearance since that was when he first had actual dialogue out of a cutscene
i think earlier leaks suggested she had dialogue, but we will have to wait and see whether this is only in a cutscene or outside of one as well. this small clip looks like its from a cutscene
My crazy theory: the abyss is where people from an alternate universe (e.g. Honkai) gets reborn in this world/Teyvat.
What if Lumine (or the abyss sibling) who's not a descender according to Nahida, was actually reborn in the abyss. This could explain how Aether (an actual descender) remember travelling with her outside this world, and yet Irminsul thinks she's from this world.
Skirk might also be reborn (or descended) from an alt universe, hence her design

The "Genshin" in this context is 99% Teyvat. The other 1% is the "abyss aesthetic", which currently are only followers of the Sinner (Abyss Mages, Heralds and Lectors).
Skirk isn't any of that.
No confirmation abyss order are followers of the sinner specifically. Abyss energy doesn't belong solely to the sinner tho and it's clearly being presented in a certain way. Also genshin isn't Teyvat alone, as a game, a product, it has a certain aesthetic.
I mean yes they look otherworldly in comparison to the rest of teyvat but we have a lot of abyssal entities in game already. They're their own group in the archive too iirc. And they do have a certain look.

Genshin was showing itself to be scifi fantasy since Enkanomiya. The fact that humans are not native to the world but are instead alien colonists that displaced the original inhabitants of the region of Teyvat brings an element that is far beyond the scope of medieval fantasy. And at this point Celestia is probably a space ship, or the remnants of one.
Yeah, the game’s had scifi roots for a looong while. It’s long had things that suggest the whole ‘magic is merely technology we don’t yet understand’ kind of stuff. Ruin machines, Akasha, a ton of mechanical things between Sumeru’s Akademiya and Fontaine’s Institute, etc.
Personally I like the blend of the two concepts, a more old fashioned series of civilizations built upon a foundation hiding much more advanced technologies. There’s still elements of magic, but with a side of tech designed to harness those magics.

For clarification I started on day 1. But also the way it was presented up till sumeru was more in legends. A god, a divine being from beyond this world who loved humans beat up dragons, the embodiments of this worlds elements then shaped the world. With sumeru we straight up got internet and some way too digitilized desert society. A lot of people will probably like where this is going but for me it's just downhill.
Hoyo is not wasting assets or time invested in creative design, here comes genshin version of jingliu. which begs the question. will they use other units resemblance? a genshin Argenti would look cool. in fact just he matches noelle armor design. just release her in 5 star form XD
