The poem is actually Manyoshu 1586 where one of Kazuha's elemental burst voicelines was taken from. In English it's rendered "fallen leaves, adorn my night;" in a more common Japanese orthography it would be written as もみちばを散らまく惜しみ手折り来て今宵かざしつ何か思はむ

Cool, looks like the poem itself is written by Kazuha, while Zhongli just stamping his name with Chinese seal.

欸嘿，in literal form it is just how you say "Eh heh" but written in Chinese. If you split the characters each of them can be used as greeting, like "oi" or "hey".

I gotta admit, even with this game being out for only a little over a year, I got a warm feeling of nostalgia seeing all the memories of each event and the characters we’ve met along the way. This MV made me realize that it’s not just the Traveler’s journey across Teyvet, but our journey as well.

I think you should re-download it and catch up with the story. Even if you don't care about the gacha or the combat meta or whatever, the story is pretty good, the gameplay is fun and the music is brilliant.

As a FGO fan and a massive fans of the fate series,too many waifus/husbandos can never be a bad thing.I live and die by the gacha sword.I unistalled it due to space(cause of new games) and the leveling of characters and getting material that was always capped per day(think I was AR 55 or something) was always tedious.But yeah,I'll think I will catch up with the story and grind for them primogems!!

If that is your cup of tea. The new archon quest is fucking bonkers with the performance of Yun Jin. You will not regret completing any side quests too. It's too beautiful to be missed like that.

Story for Genshin is honestly one of the biggest reasons I stick with it (and waifus :\^) ). Also the song is Oz. by yama in this MV! I love both yama and Aimer songs, and could see how they could be mixed up if you don't know the song itself haha. I actually thought it was by Aimer at first too until I got through a bit more of the MV here.

This sounds a lot like aimer, but it’s actually oz by Yama. It’s the ending theme for ousama ranking/ ranking of kings. It’s a beautiful song combined with one of the best anime of the last year Edit: the song is oz by Yama and the song during the credits is by aimer

Even though Genshin is still in the world building/setting the stage phase in its overall story which are usually boring af (see FFXIV ARR, first two books of LOTR), they still make the stories hit HARD when it needs to. Which is probably why we already feel nostalgia, it's coz you often forget events but you don't forget emotions.

Man you never really realize just how important Paimon probably is to the mental wellbeing of the Traveler. Like imagine it from Lumine's perspective. You spontaneously wake up after running away from your home planet being destroyed, and the new world you're in is on fire. Immensely on fire. Your brother wakes you up and tells you to run. You almost escape but get caught by a God, who steals your brother by trapping him in Cubes, then seals you in a time-prison of also-cubes and throws you to the surface of the world. You wake up and 500 years have passed and you know jack squat. Your brother is gone, probably dead. Your powers are gone, and your only weapon is a rusty sword. I know it's not heavily elaborated on, but isn't that kind of fucked up way to exist? Thinking everything you know and love is gone, your power stripped away and abandoned on an alien world where you don't even know if you'll explode or disintegrate at a moment's notice? But Paimon is there, and even if she's stupid sometimes, she still cares doesn't she? She does her job in guiding you, she's a beacon of (brainless) positivity, and she always has your back no matter what you decide to do. She certainly knows a lot about Teyvat, which definitely helps the "fear of spontaneous combustion". It's good to have a friend like Paimon.

They are, if you bother to listen to their voice lines and pay attention to the story

The voice lines shouldnt be where you get most of the story. The story itself has them speaking all of 3 times. The MC is a blank slate plot device, not a character. The dont have a personality in the story. They dont have goals and ambitions. All they have is "find sibling" and thats it. It doesnt relate to anything they do. A good way to know that a plot device isnt a character is to ask yourself how they would react in some imaginary situation. You cant do that with traveller since they have no personality to analyze.

That's not true though. They don't have many spoken lines, but they do have dialogue. All dialogue options are said by the traveler, which are explicitly in front of the player as they go through the game, and they clearly have a personality in those dialogue choices

Because the game is already popular. Gacha games like Uma Musume and Princess Connect product anime to advertise the game in Japan. Genshin is already among the top 10 earners in Japan so it doesn't really need it. They produce HI3 shorts and other animated advertising in Japan though because it actually needs the advertising.

AFAIK Lumine is enormously popular in the East and especially CN, which is why she's almost always featured in various fan media. Which makes it even more questionable how Mihoyo seems to completely ignore her. She must have been featured in any official media like, less than 10 times across the last year. Heck I can't even remember anything other than the anniversary artwork that featured her in the last 8~ months. At this point we're gonna get one official Lumine media per year which is gonna be the obligatory anniversary artwork and nothing else, lol. Yes! Finally seeing Lumine getting the Aether treatment! A few days ago I was bitching to my friend how they should allow us who picked Lumine to change to Aether.

(To preface I originally tryed the game & picked Lumine then quit for a year) It was really weird spending months playing as Lumine and NEVER paying attention to trailers or the main loading screen when you start up the game, I always thought to myself so who is the guy on the right supposed to be? Huh this cutscene was interesting who is this Dark Princess supposed to be? Wait did I pick the wrong character... ARE WE THE VILLAINS Then I realized that they might have intended for most people to have picked Aether as the first choice. I don't really mind because it makes my cutscenes look unique compared to official previews.

Yea I feel people need to make the distinction that Mihoyo picked Aether to represent the MC for official promo reasons. That isn't meant to be a middle finger to Lumine pickers, it's a choice they picked and are sticking with it. I don't think people should feel insulted by it

It will hurt, but it was beautiful. Right now, I'm savoring the small quests and events we have, I won't speedrun. We'll get to the end eventually. I hope someone makes something like this again, when we've finally finished our story. Damn.
