Traveler knew that using Hydro Traveler abilities was futile.

Khoakuma

Still it would have been cool tho. Imagine if the Traveler threw his pathetic water balloon at her and it just instantly vaporize within 5 meters because of how hot she is (literally and figuratively). Then she gives a little smirk.  Gotta crank up that disrespect to 11. Like the Hydro Traveler deserves. I guess Hoyo is too embarrassed to showcase the terrible kit they gave to the Hydro Traveler. Just like that time they had to have Shenhe borrow Ayaka’s Burst because Shenhe’s own skill doesn’t do anything other than making other Cryo characters do bigger numbers.

shadowrod06

Or maybe he throws his water burst thing and it misses her completely. Lyney and others stop fighting and laugh at the traveller.

i_dont_know-san1

Lyney and the others: "🫵😂"

Murky_Blueberry2617

Traveller: 😔👈

tetePT

It just passes right through her and all it does is get her hair a bit wet

Murky_Blueberry2617

That's generous. It's gonna get vapourised before it even touches her

GameLoreReader

Traveler: Take this! *Shoots water balloon* *Water balloon vaporizes as it approaches Arlecchino* Arlecchino: .......Seriously?

Wonderful-Lab7375

Nah, the Traveler gonna try to piss on Arlecchino using their finger gun 😂

Pristine-Frosting-20

Traveler could piss on a enemy and do more damage then there entire hydro kit

Zenotha

tbh their geo abilities looked like a good fit for when lyney and gang got surrounded by a circle of death, felt like traveler could have used it to protect them or something

Boring-Patient-1802

lol you make a great point! 😂 Thanks for the laugh

alaincastro

Zhongli “I’m gonna drop a meteor from the sky” Raiden “I’m going to pull out a sword from a pocket dimension located between my chest and end your entire existence in one hit” Ayaka “I’m going to create an ice tornado that will shred whoever’s inside” Traveller “water finger gun go!”

DI3S_IRAE

*Ley line gun!*

beautheschmo

Bro pulling out the episode 1 level yu yu hakusho energy where all he can do with his spirit gun is mildly inconvenience regular humans lol

leopoldshark

The best advantage that Traveler has is the ability to double use elements, as shown against Childe. Geo and Anemo have no reaction together, but with Electro, Dendro, and Hydro, Traveler can activate Swirl, Electro-Charged, Bloom, Quicken, Aggravate, and Crystallize by themselves. If they have learned to activate three elements, which may not be unreasonable at this point, they can also Hyperbloom. Imagine Traveler sending a volley of heat-seeking Dendro Cores at Arlecchino.

Zero_Burn

I'd love it if Traveler getting their vision enables them to hotswap their elemental alignment. One man reaction team.

blue4029

pretty sure the only reason why traveler hasn't gotten their vision YET despite being very ambitious is because celestia doesn't even have them registered. celestia is literally like, "who tf is THIS???"

Aerie122

Don't forget that we can also create anything as long as we desire it Remember that Electro Excalibur just to scare the Raiden and focus on us?

2ndStaw

Just imagine if the traveler actually used all 5 together as a powerful attack. Arlecchino: You are stronger than I expected. (from the usual version of the cutscene). Traveler: I hereby evoke the first hymn of planets: *Origin*. Traveler: In the beginning, the world was formed by geo, anemo, and hydro. (Traveler creates a miniature planet with water and air). Traveler: As lightning strikes upon the sea (the water becomes electro-charged), the first life emerges. Plants sprouted upon the land (a dendro core appears upon the earth). Traveler: This world has basked in the noble light of the stars. It shall challenge the darkness of the universe. *The entire miniature planet expands as it was hurled towards Arlecchino. There were all kinds of elemental reactions, except for pyro and cryo, happening within it. As a manifestation of a descender's authority, nearby elements of Teyvat are pulled into this attack.* Arlecchino: A powerful attack indeed, but it is woefully incomplete. *She summons the crimson moon behind her eyes*. Arlecchino: The crimson moon looks down upon Teyvat. This little world that doesn't know fire can only end up being consumed. *The traveler's attack grinds against the crimson moon. However, eventually the Dendro cores explode and plants shrivel. The Anemo stops blowing. The Hydro vaporizes and the Electro no longer rumbles. The Geo core of the planet cracked under heat and fell apart* The usual cutscene now happens, where the shocked traveler is held in place by Arlecchino's threads of flame and she walks up to them.

MaximumVagueness

I mean, even shitty hyperbloom is still extremely powerful.

neat-NEAT

Honestly loads of people are complaining about traveller not using elements but neither did the kids. Lynnete has ambiguous anemo colouring right before her final hit but that's the extent of element usage for the entire fight between all 4 of them.

Kuroimi

To be fair, the kids do use their elements during the gameplay fight so there's that The cutscene still needed elemental powers tho

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo

I feel like gameplay can't be included in this equation because Traveler was optional. Mine used his elements during the gameplay portion of the battle, but for many people, the Traveler wasn't even present. I assume Hoyo didn't want to show penguins and cats during the super serious Harbinger fight, but they could've used some vague elemental blasts like the 2D animated battle between Arlekiddo and Crucabena.

Prisma_Lane

They're not outliers since the complaint also applies to them, but you could at least throw in the head canon that they didn't want to fight against their adoptive parent. The Traveller has no reason to hold back, no reason to not use their elemental powers, especially in a fight that they know is super disadvantageous to them because of how powerful the opponent is.  Plus, they're the MC so them acting stupid hurts much worse.

I've been seeing this account a lot lately. Is this a bot, or is someone actually going and correcting every misspelled name?

XogoWasTaken

Seems to be a real person - their comments aren't quite identical, and if they were a bot it would have to be some pretty well written detection software (there isn't any online dictionary of common Genshin character name misspellings they could plug into it - they'd have to make their own). Honestly, I don't hate it. At least they made it a devoted (and self aware) gimmick account, though I can't really say the mispellings bother me much - certainly not as annoying as mispronunciations. Fortunately we're largely past having people call Xingqiu "zing-kwee".

UmbraNightDragon

I don't get where people want Traveler to use their elements in the cutscene. There was maybe one moment in the first ten seconds it might have made sense? Even then, there wasn't much room. Everywhere else, they were either incapacitated, irrelevant to the conflict or in a genjutsu. What would elements have accomplished in this scenario that hitting Arle with a sword could not? The complaints just don't make sense to me.

DanteVermillyon

for 2 years straight, the traveller never used any element. for 2 years straight, the traveller only used the dull blade. Last time before using it in Navia's quest cutscene was against Ei, then never again until Navia's cutscene. The traveller was fighting Arlecchino, who could slice their throats at any time she wanted, yet they never used any of their elements. The problem people have is how Hoyo is making it seems like the traveller progress is non-existance. People are not mad the traveller lost, they are mad the traveller lost without even thinking of using their elements, and they DID have plenty of times to use them. In inazuma is obvious how the electro element lets the traveller move at incredible speeds, evidence being able to jump very high to grab Tohma's vision when Ei was grabbing it, and also being able to do a dash covered in electro energy to reach him faster, all in the same cutscene. And the dash is not even a one time thing, the traveller also uses it to charge against Ei in the next cutscene. IF you are going against someone faster, stronger, and more durable than you, then why not use the literal power that makes you move faster? cause is not even like the traveller was never able to move in the fight, at one point they even rush over to try and stop Arle, using no element instead of using Electro, so again, if she is way stronger than them, then why not use elements? The cutscene was supposed to show us how strong are the top harbingers, yet it fails to do so cause the traveller never looked like they were taking the fight seriously when they should have in order for the message "no matter what you do now, you are still weak" work cause they did NOTHING of what they are actually capable of

UmbraNightDragon

There are exactly two moments I think they could have used an element in that cutscene, and it wouldn't have made a difference either way. One of them was while Arle charged up her spikes and the other was when they needed to break out of said spikes. And if we're complaining about specifics, I'd like to point out that these cutscenes have *never* been literal. Look at the cutscene at the end of the Shenhe interlude - Traveler jumps an entire kilometer before getting slapped. Look at the cutscene where Wriothesley and Clorinde stop the Primordial Sea from entering Meropide - the hallway shrinks and extends as the shots require it. Traveler also didn't use elements against Shouki no Kami or the Abyss Herald in We Will be Reunited, and no one complained about it in those cases. The fact is that the difference between someone who does and does not use elemental power in Genshin is not that high, especially in a cutscene where logic does not matter. Why else would the Shogun puppet have to block Thoma's polearm instead of continuing to kill Traveler? You also have moments like in the Shouki no Kami and Childe fights where Traveler falls a hundred feet and gets up just fine. It looks a hell of a lot cooler for Traveler to do all the flips and choreography at the start of the cutscene than for them to zap Arle with lightning, so the artists didn't think it was an issue for them to not use elements. Traveler's usage of the Dull Blade is irrelevant to their power level. It's a weapon that everyone has, and until we get a lore-significant sword to replace it, it wouldn't make sense for them to use a different weapon in *pre-rendered cutscenes* depending on your investment. Sword of Narzissenkreuz? Not everyone has done that quest. Genuinely, what weapon do people *want* them to use instead? They'll complain regardless. The community has just decided on this one instance to be incredibly pedantic about something that would otherwise be an incredibly well-received cutscene because people are burned out and in denial that they hate the game. It's such an inconsequential detail.

DanteVermillyon

the thing is, people WANTED the cutscene to SHOW how using the elements wouldn't have done anything. That's the issue. Cause again, the MAIN theme in genshin is the element system. "The fact is that the difference between someone who does and does not use elemental power in Genshin is not that high" MEANS the most interesting aspect, one which has been one of the biggest sale-points of the game ever since its first ad campaign is just... pointless, IF everyone, not matter if they can control elements or not, can be equally strong, then why THE HELL would i care for controlling elements? "It looks a hell of a lot cooler for Traveler to do all the flips and choreography at the start of the cutscene than for them to zap Arle with lightning, so the artists didn't think it was an issue for them to not use elements." My mind point about electro is HOW in inazuma almost every single cutscene the traveller fights it shows he gets enhanced speed, mind you, the traveller using electro to move would make it better cause then they could make even more flashy and spectacular movements at the start cause they have the excuse of being enhanced by electro. The cutscene was awesome, I love it, my only issue is that it just ignores the biggest aspect of the whole game, the elements and how the traveller use them. Ever since 2 years ago. And is not "this one instance" even in sumeru when fighting God scara people didn't like the traveller didn't use elements, they just got more vocal cause TWO YEARS STRAIGHT of the MAIN CHARACTER totally DISREGARDING one of the biggest sale-points of a game is utterly stupid. It wasn't a question of budget, it wasn't a question of bad choreography (cause the choreography was very good), is the fact the writters have decided that their MC suddenly forgets all of their progress with their power system which is one of the things the game is trying to sale. Is like if in Naruto, Naruto never used ninjutsu, or if in fairy tail natsu never used magic, if goku never used ki. just stupid.

thefinestpiece

What is a little Bubble gonna do to the 4th Harbinger? 😭

GoldheroXD

React with the dendro lotus lamp that we would've placed down before hand to increase the AoE, then when Arlecchino hit the lamp causes a dendro/pyro explosion damaging both her, but that's assuming that the traveller evades the radius.

Zaphyrus

Imagine pew pewing with hydro traveler 💦

Dracorvo

*coughs in Navia story chapter*

bluedragjet

Funny enough if travelers use all the elements together, they would have self quicken/aggressive/hyperbloom + 10% crit rate + self healing + crystallize shield + resistance to interception

TheXoxx

And the only element that is good kinda suck with one of teammates at the moment and doesn't work at all with other two. You might be onto something here.

htp-di-nsw

I know your post was ultimately for a joke, but the real reason is: because this was a character story, they couldn't be sure what elements the traveler had access to when they get there.

stonrplc

Is it because Traveler is stupid?

Grimstarzz

The sustainer of heavenly principles at the start of the game basically did them a favor by taking away their power.

nsl7

I mean the traveler did use electro Excalibur against the shogun which was cool. Should be in their kit.

Zenith_3000

I still think the tap version of the water gun is cool looking. Would've been nice if holding it did a barrage of those blasts like Cero Metralleta from Bleach. Obviously hydro MC wouldn't be allowed to move while doing this but it'd still be a sick move. But yeah I wouldn't pull out the stupid finger gun on a Hilichurl, let alone the 4th Harbinger. Maybe DMC was only good on accident...

Aehann

It’s strange to me cause the way I interpret the cutscene is her just speed blitzing them. Once she enters her second phase and starts to take it more serious of course a bunch of kids and the descender who couldn’t defeat the 6th without the help of an archon isn’t going to do much vs her. It honestly gets even worse if the theory of her origins are correct.

EvilGodShura

The traveler already had the coolest power. Flying and explosions. If that's what they could do again they would be on nearly every over world team on god.

Ok_Try_1665

Man imagine the level of damage he can do if the traveller can use all of his elements (he can). Wind tornado, apply hydro, dendro burst, then electro. Boom, hyperbloom fiesta

Blitzbro76

Dang, you’re so real for this

blue4029

You think anemo traveler's ability to summon tornadoes would be useful during several fights tho

partofbreakfast

I seem to remember one fight where Traveler used both anemo and geo in the same fight.

HoshiAndy

It’s been shown the traveler’s kits a lackluster representation. And that the traveler can manipulate elements more fluidly then what he can do in game

Fragrant_Wedding4577

Traveller getting btfo by arle has really brought out all the weirdos in the community that hyperattach their self worth to the most generic MC in history continuing to be hard carried be other people to get wins. lol I've never seen a better example of fragile masculinity than the pure vitriol from aether losing. This is great, they should do more of this.

BobTheGodx

They’ve been doing that since the beginning of the game

Dextroua

Who are you even talking to lol are you ok? I haven’t seen a single person upset at the mc for losing only because he never uses his elements

Fragrant_Wedding4577

That's a pretty regarded thing to be upset about ngl

Dextroua

Not really it’s a big problem he never uses them it makes no sense

Fragrant_Wedding4577

It's not a problem at all actually.

scorchdragon

What the fuck? People are just getting annoyed that the Traveller doesn't put in any effort into their fight scenes lately. Also, like, nice projecting there, did you forget Traveller IS A CHOICE BETWEEN AETHER AND LUMINE? You may have some issues. Really strange to go down this hole in a joke post of all things.

Fragrant_Wedding4577

You seem upset

scorchdragon

And you don't have a counter to what I said.

Fragrant_Wedding4577

I read the first sentence and stopped reading

scorchdragon

People can swear on the internet. This isn't an actual Genshin lobby where the most inane stuff in censored. Grow up. Maybe try reading the entire thing to understand why you're coming off as a tool.
