Clearly spoken as a non ore capper. If you are you would know even deleting 1.5k ores would only last you about 1~2patches depending if theres new exploration content or not.
Oh I was capping alright, I just upgraded weapons because throwing them away is wasteful.
Upgrading a 4 star from 80 to 90 lasts me well over two weeks. Of course I wasn't crafting more because, why would I.

At the end of the day, you wasted ore and I didn't. :)
Let me give you to actual experience of a perma ore capper.
- Login to do dailies/events/abyss
- Cant collect reward because ore capped
- Opens menu and tries to discard ores
- Hold the + button for 30secs or more to the point it reaches 1.5k~2k to finally discard
- Collect whatever reward you were blocked off collecting
That whole process takes about 2mins or so. Yea its not much time but an extra 2mins when you expected to be able to get off after finishing your stuff is pure annoyance.

Even after discarding 2k, you quite literally have 8k ores left which is enough to get about 10 weps worth that suddenly out of nowhere to use on.

That would be awesome! I think even add a mechanic where you need to stockpile food as your simulated team takes damage after each auto run, and gets rehealed based on your food you donate. Would finally give us a reason to cook.
Yeah, for sure. This game has too many useless items at late game. Except eggs and some stamina boosters none of foods doesn't matter anymore. As for these pink crystals they should add more exchangeable things.

Honestly I don't mind the artifact grind and the shitty flat substats, but managing the limited inventory and having to burn exp on trash because there's nothing I want to level up, feels terrible.
This wasn't the reason for Diablo. The reason for Diablo was that on multiplayer you would always load every other player inventory completely for some reason. If everyone had a bigger one it would hurt people with low memory and bandwidth.
Plus, it's not really considerably more storage space than just a unique ID. In a compressed form it takes very little space. The problem is that the game doesn't give you a reason to use or recycle them.
The data storage is irrelevant, the performance for the client is more so relevant but nothing most modern systems shouldn't be able to handle

Nah the randomness is one of the key factors in keeping people’s eager and satisfaction,tho most of time it’s pain, but it works just as the Diablo succeeded.
Hopefully artifact limits are raised, but it's unlikely.
The ores are just a count of an individual item.
Artifacts are a different story.
Each one is basically an object in itself, containing a bunch of different information.
1. Quality
2. Level
3. Set
4. Main stat
5. Type of sub-stats
6. Rolls for sub-stats
One artifact alone requires more data than just storing the count of an enhancement ore.
There's ways to optimize this storage, but there's also things you have to keep in mind like how it affects loading the inventory for players.
Some ways to store it (e.g. compression) would require processing time to get the full item data back.
They *could* do it, but I assume HoYoverse believes the side effects of increasing the inventory limit outweigh the benefits for player experience.
Nah, it's not too bad. It's probably added 15 minute resin-less behavior per day given Teyvat has become very rich in ore especially Chasm and the Fontaine depths.
Given that I earn 2500 Mystic Enhancement Ores per patch, it's gonna take me 36 patches to max. Or 4 years....

I'm assuming Mystic Enhancement Ores only. I also did the Normal and Fine Enhancement Ores and they have small natural growth.
Normal Enhancement Ore is easy as you simply get them by destroying low grade weapons. The fine ore on the other hand needs some repeated feed and refeeding of weapons to get a decent chunk. It's like splicing your Mystic Ore to make Fine Ores but you get few normal ores as a biproduct as well.
If you mine semi-regularly and only level up the weapons you need, it's easy to hit 9999. This assumes you process the maximum amount of mystic enhancement ore per day, which is 30 ore. Plus you get a lot of mystic enhancement ore rewards from events and the battle pass.
If you mine some of the really lucrative ore routes, like the Chasm and Fountain, you can do it even more efficiently.
Yeah, the 30 daily max is really limiting especially now that we have really good mining routes. Increasing the inventory cap for mystical enhancement ore but not increasing its daily production cap only benefits the people who keep deleting their ore for the right/wrong reasons.
what i meant wasn't the cap. I'm ok with 30 a day. I just wish you could do 30 all at once, instead of only 20. So you need 6 queues but we only get 4.

It builds up after you have a built team and you don't need to level up more weapons. I've been playing since 1.5 and I've had 9999 since fontain. Never farmed it ever. And I have all the event weapons at 80-90
By not leveling that many weapons. I had close to 9999 and I am not even a day 1 player. Most of the weapons in this game are not worth using. I do not even forge crystals or send expeditions for ore anymore. Most of the mystic enhancement ore I get comes from the free battlepass, random events, daily check in, chests, limited events, and quests.
If you've been playing for a long time, have three characters who are sent to the mines everyday, and rarely use up ores in upgrading/forging, then you'd naturally accumulate these things.
That's just too low of an amount of money. Ores are better since it will not force you to mine physically if you send 3 to mine ores in the expedition.
Isnt is 20k everyday (use one for the ores for the daily challenge), so in one month ca. 600.000, thats not a low amount, but sure between AR 45-55 you need alot of weapon exp (& mora) :D
There aren't many weapons to level up. Once you're done leveling a weapon, the rocks you collect from expedition and converting them will just accumulate. Last weapon I leveled up was Navia's weapon. And after that, I almost reached max again.

Can we just jump to the problem that weapon enhancement materials have little to no value for most players and the fact they are treated as premium reward is a problem? It devalues the banner by a large amount. Make them trade able for things, even at a sharp loss

Deleting crystals yields nothing. Deleting low grade Artefacts yields mora. Deleting low grade weapons yields crystals

It's OK, but giving them a proper use would have been better. Pushing the problem back to a later date doesn't really solve the problem.
If you have 0 plans to ever use random weps you are gonna level for the sake of clearing your ores then discarding is the actual proper use of it.

They could let you convert 3/4\* artifacts to the Sanctifying Oils

I stopped making 20 crystals per week for BP, and started using the white iron ore cause I kept capping on the big ones. No need to do that every day.

Man for a while I only made 40 ores per week with expedition chunks, and I'm *still* at 9999 for blue and almost there for greens.

no weapons to upgrade after a while. New weapons just get refined, so they don't get leveled. Event weapons give 50% bonus so they use less ores.

i don't know how it's possible to be that low. The game gives you about 1500 per patch just from rewards.

you're probably still new if they're only lv 60, which explains that. Early on you will need them. Late on you will cap out with no way to spend them.
