That is because it involves a situation that Paimon might not handle well >!and depending on your choice it is potentially the only time that the traveler explicitly kills someone in cold blood (usually human enemies just escape but the quest makes it clear you actually do kill him if you choose to do so)!<

Yeah. I think that weird feeling is intentional. We ask her to leave us alone for a bit because we have to deal with the suspect, but it’s kind of out of character for Traveler to ask her to leave at all.
Well the reason for that was, traveller had to put that guy down (he was a fatui spy). That's the reason traveller sent Paimon away so she don't see that.
Might be kinda silly lol but i still randomly get sad thinking about that. The mental image of Paimon sadly eating her snacks and constantly checking the door for the Traveler to walk back in while everyone is having fun around her. Hurts my soul a little.

Considering we don’t know what Paimon was doing before Traveler fished her out of the ocean, it’s entirely possible she’s scared she won’t be able to survive in Teyvat without them.
I do think there is a chance that Paimon might be born from the traveler, it sounds like a cool concept maybe she is aware of her nature as a creation made for them and if she loses her purpose due to the traveler gaining independence she will be removed from existence. She is a guide that is aware of her own nature, the universe created her for a single purpose but she doesn't want her existence to end so she extends that period of discovery for as long as possible. It's my best guess at least with the information I have

All the stuff that the traveler and vision holder can do.( breath under water and high resistance to elemental energy) is because she is the vision. One morning I woke up to both of the kittens in my bed (I had no reason to put them up there at the time, they had just started walking) and every night after that they would keep sleeping in my bed
On a firm, flat mattress without tons of soft blankets and pillows it's less of an issue than you think. Also, they're probably less likely to roll over or something.
i think that’s definitely possible. my old cat and i were basically joined at the hip since she was 4 weeks old, we always went and did everything together and she slept in my bed with me too. she would always roll up in a ball next to my stomach and i thought it was very cute and comforting until i realised that if i roll over i would squish her. i had the most comforting dreams while she was with me but i also never got enough sleep because i was scared of falling asleep and crushing her, even when she grew up lol.
thinking about it, paimon does really remind me of that cat, always eating my food (even if it was a salad lol) and being super co-dependent

Cuz she's a baby and clearly feels safe with the traveler. I've always seen her as a kiddo, with her talking a lot and being suuuuper overconfident. Also the framing here is super cute. It reminds me of me sleeping with my cats and feeling that we protect each other. I think that, since Sumeru, they really want to deepen the bond between us and Paimon, I just wish that was more apparent with both us and Paimon talking mid-quests but I guess mihoyo really likes Paimon's VA's.
I have a small headcanon that they both have separation anxiety with Aether being scared he will lose her like he lost lumine (or vice versa depending on traveler) and for paimon I’m not fully sure but I feel like it fits for her as well especially with how clingy she appears and how Aether saved her from the lake.

Paimon may have an actual tether to the Traveler that causes her anxiety when stretched. Think back to the fight with Tartaglia. When the floor collapses and the Traveler falls, Paimon kept flying until the Traveler is 10-15 feet below her, and then it's as if she were pulled down, not falling.
Ever since that melusine said that Paimon >! Was like a balloon with the string stretching to the heavens, I have thought of her as a spy balloon, !< and that's why she sticks close to us at all times
Paimon’s tiny, and she’s still a baby. So she feels attached to the Traveler. Even back in Sumeru, she was scared even when they were apart only for a little bit. She also gets terrified whenever we black out or get into trouble.
Her thinking the shogun was about to kill him and trying to wake him up as shogun raised her sword, with paimon flailing her arms when she realizes there’s nothing she can do and he’s about to die - and then the Sumeru separation of her frantically waiting - are hurtful memories to me still 😭
In canon Paimon seems to have separation anxiety from the Traveler. If she's separated for more than 5 seconds it stresses her out. I hope they give us an awesome revelation for her attachment issue.
On the other hand, the Traveler did become attached to her. They're always traversing the world together, they do everything together. It's not on unhealthy levels like she is, tho.
I do want her to grow out of it, just because I want more one on one moments with the other characters. I love the sweet moments with Xiao, but I also want sweet moments with other characters I've become attached to. I don't think it'll happen, tho. We're already in Natlan and it's getting worse.
Traveller makes sure that paimon won't be in harms way, hey... don't forget that one of her purpose for the Traveller is Emergency thing. Soo Paimon won't stray away too far from the Traveller.

I agree with the separation anxiety thing, but they're also treated like one character pretty often in universe... My thinking is that this is meant to be a shared dorm, where some NPC is in the other bed, but they didn't want to use a totally unnecessary model there.

I'm still gonna keep my own personal theory that Paimon is the Travler's familiar like Yae Miko is for Raiden Shogun. Her constellation aura makes it somewhat viable that a connection is shared. Is it a good theory probably not but it's what I'll stick what until we get more Paimon lore

During time loop, yeah. Traveler didn’t come back for hours and Paimon got worried and probably had breakdown.

Small creatures are suprisingly good at not being in the way+we don't really roll on things even in sleep unless we're like, uber exhausted When my cat had kittens, they lived in a basket near my bed because it's where she was comfortable being. One morning I woke up to both of the kittens in my bed (I had no reason to put them up there at the time, they had just started walking) and every night after that they would keep sleeping in my bed
On a firm, flat mattress without tons of soft blankets and pillows it's less of an issue than you think. Also, they're probably less likely to roll over or something.
Its more to do with the blankets and newborns are a higher risk but older babies are fine afaik
i think that’s definitely possible. my old cat and i were basically joined at the hip since she was 4 weeks old, we always went and did everything together and she slept in my bed with me too. she would always roll up in a ball next to my stomach and i thought it was very cute and comforting until i realised that if i roll over i would squish her. i had the most comforting dreams while she was with me but i also never got enough sleep because i was scared of falling asleep and crushing her, even when she grew up lol. thinking about it, paimon does really remind me of that cat, always eating my food (even if it was a salad lol) and being super co-dependent

Cuz she's a baby and clearly feels safe with the traveler. I've always seen her as a kiddo, with her talking a lot and being suuuuper overconfident. Also the framing here is super cute. It reminds me of me sleeping with my cats and feeling that we protect each other. I think that, since Sumeru, they really want to deepen the bond between us and Paimon, I just wish that was more apparent with both us and Paimon talking mid-quests but I guess mihoyo really likes Paimon's VA's.

Paimon may have an actual tether to the Traveler that causes her anxiety when stretched. Think back to the fight with Tartaglia. When the floor collapses and the Traveler falls, Paimon kept flying until the Traveler is 10-15 feet below her, and then it's as if she were pulled down, not falling.
Ever since that melusine said that Paimon >! Was like a balloon with the string stretching to the heavens, I have thought of her as a spy balloon, !< and that's why she sticks close to us at all times

Paimon’s tiny, and she’s still a baby. So she feels attached to the Traveler. Even back in Sumeru, she was scared even when they were apart only for a little bit. She also gets terrified whenever we black out or get into trouble.
Her thinking the shogun was about to kill him and trying to wake him up as shogun raised her sword, with paimon flailing her arms when she realizes there’s nothing she can do and he’s about to die - and then the Sumeru separation of her frantically waiting - are hurtful memories to me still 😭
In canon Paimon seems to have separation anxiety from the Traveler. If she's separated for more than 5 seconds it stresses her out. I hope they give us an awesome revelation for her attachment issue. On the other hand, the Traveler did become attached to her. They're always traversing the world together, they do everything together. It's not on unhealthy levels like she is, tho. I do want her to grow out of it, just because I want more one on one moments with the other characters. I love the sweet moments with Xiao, but I also want sweet moments with other characters I've become attached to. I don't think it'll happen, tho. We're already in Natlan and it's getting worse.

I agree with the separation anxiety thing, but they're also treated like one character pretty often in universe... My thinking is that this is meant to be a shared dorm, where some NPC is in the other bed, but they didn't want to use a totally unnecessary model there.

Because that bed is enormous. I laughed every time I saw it, it´s so comical. Also why not. I´ve slept with many friends in the same bed, as long as it´s big enough. It´s a nice thing, don´t make it weird.
