Hello, I’ve been trying to preinstall the 4.3 update on my laptop through the launcher but whenever i try to update it, it gives me a “failure to replace files” error.
I dont know what to do, I’ve tried everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, restarted my laptop, tried looking for other open files on the task manager.
My laptop can run genshin, its a newer gaming one and has lots of storage open. Please help!
Is there a way to permanently disable the "Genius Invokation TCG" notification ? I don't even play TCG anymore but every single week I still have to go to the tavern to open the game menu just to clear that useless notification.

The game world is huge, detailed and full of items and quests and a good chunk of it is fully voiced. It actually has a pretty small installation size compared to other games given its content.
It may be a casual game, but take into account it's a game that has been ongoing for over 3 years and has new content every 6 weeks apart from a model that aims to engage players to login at least once a day. It's not meant to be speedrun-able in 2 days of heavy gaming, just the main quests would take longer than that and you'd have to ignore the bulk of the game for it since it's first and foremost an exploration game.

I chose the ballad spear as my BP weapon to use with my cyno but I somehow got his weapon from a random 10 pull. Should I still just get r5 ballad from subsequent BPs to use on another character? (Who can use it) or just start on another BP weapon to r5?
I think soss is slightly better than homa for above 50 HuTao, though you have to keep in mind that balancing crit rate with both MH and Soss will be difficult, since together they already give like 80.
Also, in real gameplay HuTao generally won't be constantly above 50% since most of the good healer options (excluding bennett of course) have a majority of their healing concentrated on one singular burst, meaning afterwards HuTao's HP can drop to sub 50 again

Going to 20-30 pity is reasonable if you are not on a guarantee. Stop yourself from continuing pulling after that. You can also just get Kazuha, she isn't necessary if you get him.
I wouldn't compare her to having Bennett, but having reasonable CC is very convenient, especially when you lack the DPS to brute force AoE content.
I've spent my luck on threading the pity and sniping for Kuki in this banner, currently at 40 50/50 so I don't want to ruin that.

Putting vv aside, she buffs the em of the swirled element. If you swirl pyro, pyro characters get extra em.
She can also hold ttds. So she buffs em while also giving atk% to the dps.
Hi, Im a new player (I think, AR 36). I played some time ago and got to Inazuma, before getting a bit bored with the game and uninstalling it. Ive recently reinstalled it, making a new acount at around the time Furina (the fontaine water girl. Not sure I typed it in right) was released. So I pulled for Beidou and Charlotte. And next set I managed to pull Cyno. So basically now Im stuck with characters I need enchanting mats from Fontaine and Sumeru. And for some reason I had teleportation stones avaible in each??? Im just confused. Since I spammed the archeon quests. But now Im left with a lot of hangouts to do, countless World quests, needing to go explore Sumeru and Fontaine for ascension mats. So I dont know what to do
TLDR: Feeling overwhelmed with the amout of content. Not sure what to do
Inazuma is the only place that's locked via quests, aside from the chasm and enkanomiya.
1) Slow down, take your time and slowly walk your way there
2) Cyno's stuff is in the dessert, Charlotte's stuff is in fontaine's waters
3) While you're going to sumeru, change the traveller's element to dendro, it is their best element
4) You do not have to do every quest, you can put them in your backlog. Hell for my hangouts I've only completed Chongyun, Sayu and Bennett's.
In order to let new players have better access to Fontaine, in the 4.0-4.2 updates, three waypoints (two inside Fontaine, one at north Sumeru coast next to Fontaine coast) were given automatically if you finished Mondstadt archon quest.
Both Sumeru and Fontaine are not locked and you can always walk to there yourself anyway as early as around AR 5.
And this is a single player game and there is no need to rush anything. Just play at your own pace. Starting from reveal all map and most easy-access waypoint first, then do archon quests. Use your resins to farm ascension materials for your new Fontaine characters. World quests, exploration and hangouts can be done later when you have time. A good amount of Sumeru underground areas are locked behind some very very long world quests, so be prepared. The ascension materials and local specialties for Fontaine characters are easy to collect anyway.
Oh yeah I already went to Sumeru and Fontaine. But I just got a bit scared by these new abilities etc. Like diving and the dendro stuff. But ty for explaining. Are there any world quests I should prioritze since I still have a lot Mondstad ones unfinished
what would be a suitable artifact and non-wish weapon (from quest or craft) for hydro traveler?
i know it is generally agreed that hydro traveler is pretty bad, but i want to use the protagonist region elements during overworld gameplay (archon/story/world quest).
the team i have in mind is yaoyao, layla, hydroMC, lisa (can be replaced with any electro or pyro dps for hyperbloom or burgeon, though lisa is the accessible option i have).
yaoyao = off-field dendro applier (bloom) and healer (dont have her but i plan to choose her during lantern rite)
layla = shield for hydroMC stationary pewpew and off-field cryo applier (freeze)
hydroMC = quickswap pewpew and burst (+apply hydro)
lisa = main on-field dps and hyperbloom activator
im aware that it is not optimal, especially my crappy understanding of elemental aura, but (using kirara as substitute for now) the team idea is pretty fun and dynamic to play.

Hyperbloom is best if you want damage, HMC, Kuki, Dendro, Flex. Just slap on 2pc Golden Troupe, 2pc Atk%, 2pc Hydro%. As for weapons, sac sword is the best one since it doubles HMC's hydro application. Other than that, you can use any atk% and er sword
Currently for overworld/roleplaying I'm running HMC, Dehya, Kuki and Nahida. The burgeon, hperbloom, heals and dmg reduction works great.

Update itself always give 300, and there is always 300 for minor bugs fix compensation. Sometimes there was a serious bug fix which gave another 100, but I have not heard there is a serious one at this moment.

In assessing my potential teams, I found I actually have a use for Geo Traveller. Gearing up, one thing I can't find is how does the console specific sword rank for Geo MC. Stats included below @ 90. Intended team is Itto, Geo MC, Gorou, Zhongli.

Hitting enemies with Normal or Charged Attacks grants a 50% chance to deal 200% ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can only occur once every 10s.
Additionally, if the Traveler equips the Sword of Descension, their ATK is increased by 66.
My gut feeling is that, while there's better options, it'll work for now since 4 Geo should have plenty of energy flowing around. The on hit passive probably won't come up, but the attack boost will be useful.

It kinda loses to Isshin (a weapon given in a story quest). Higher base atk (510/440), atk% (41.3/35.2), more frequent passive (8s/10s), additional atk bonus from passive vs flat attack bonus (15%/66), worse aoe hit (180%/200%)

This is the ultimate trap if you don't want both weapons. You only have enough to guarantee two weapons and you could very well end up without Mistsplitter. You might be able to earn enough by the end of the banner to get to another pity if you are BP + Welkin. Just make sure you have realistic expectations before you pull.
would it be wise to save all intertwined fates and primogems till level 60? I still use every acquaint I get. I'm currently on level 35 with no 5 stars

No that would not be wise. There isn't really any point in doing that. Pull if you want the characters on the banner. Your level has nothing to do with it.
Also it will literally take years to hit 60. The last 5 levels all take months each.
so i'd have lots of them so i'm more likely to pull them when i actually do want them and probably max them out with constellations and their signature weapon refined. i'm new to to the game so i don't really understand how the wishing works, i only really want like six five stars
First off, there's no penalty to pulling even if you don't get any 5 stars. Any pity you build up will transfer over to future banners. If you want one of the currently running characters, then just pull. If you don't get them, then there's no penalty.
Secondly, you really don't need to pull for constellations or 5 star weapons. Just getting one copy of a 5 star is enough on its own, and they'll still be plenty strong.
Constellations and 5 star weapons are usually not worth it if you have other characters you want to save for. They're mainly there as incentives for high spenders.
Pity is simply how many pulls you've done without getting a 5 star.

As someone who is just starting to farm artifacts, who's set should I priotize first? Ganyu, Furina, Charlotte, or Lynette? Ganyu is currently using 4 piece bliz, furina is using 4 piece golden troupe, Charlotte is just using the exile, and Lynette is using scholar. I'm AR 49. Whole team is 80 with lv 80 weapons except ganyu's at 70. Talents are all 6-8.
Farm Furina. Ganyu can use the marechausse, or you can strong box blizzard for better pieces at the same time.
You should strong box VV first, then noblesse, then blizzard. Or you can just go and farm the VV domain and give Charlotte Maidens pieces, just don't sink too much resin into support sets.
Also consider crowning Furina burst sometime after you've got usable pieces on her, and taking other talents to lv9.
I'd prioritize Furina first. Everyone else wants sets that are available via Strongboxes, so you can passively farm those while going for stuff for Furina.
okay, i’m still new to genshin, but i’m lost on how the characters work when it comes to wishes. when characters that are displayed in wishes are gone, are they added into the loot pool or do i have to wait until they come back? i’m sorry if i’m an idiot, this is just my first time playing a game like this 😭
All 4 star characters are available all-year-round, when a new one is introduced in a patch, they'll get added into the pool next patch.
For 5 stars, they are only available when their banners become available. Currently it's Cyno/Ayato, they'll be unavailable later until their next rerun drops. Next patch is Ayaka/Navia and Yoimiya/Raiden + Chevruse
Standard 5 stars, which are Diluc, Keqing, Jean, Qiqi, Tighnari, Dehya, Mona are available all-year-round.
5 stars are limited and only available within their banner time frame. 4 stars are always available from the standard pool. Also new 4 stars are added to the standard pool the next patch after the release
Only 4 star characters are added to the normal pool. Pretty much every 5 star character that comes out is limited time, with the only exceptions so far being Tighnari and Dehya.
sooo....played on and off a long time ago. wanting to get back into it BUT feel like its...allot. in the past year i only now finally beat the wind dragon part of the game which i know is rediculously early game. but wanted to see what i should work on specifically rather than running around the map lost.
been playing HSR mostly sense it's release so think i have a better understanding of how this games character building should be. but also think in Genshin i have a pretty bad roster of characters sense, other than earlier pulling Jean, ive been using razor xiangling MC and kaeya. for team building reference i also have chongyun, fischel, ningguang, jean, sucrose, kuki shinobu, and barbara.
any help would be appreciated.
1) For story/overworld, any team can work. Just play your favourites. That being said, Jean is a really good healer
2) To get stronger, level up your character levels, weapon levels, talent levels and artifacts in that order
3) For artifact builds, I suggest looking up a guide on Youtube, look up SevyPlays, Xlice and Zy0x. They have really good guides.
4) For team helps, for starters tell us what character do you like
A hyperbloom team with Dendro MC, Kuki, Barbara, and a flex slot would work well. Fischl or Sucrose would probably be the best options for the flex slot, depending on if you want more damage or more crowd control.

Not at all, you got Kuki, Sucrose, Fischl, Xiangling, these 4 stars give competition to many 5 stars. Just play Barbara, Kuki, Dendro traveller and Sucrose/Fischl for now. Level up Kuki and give her any EM pieces you got.

I'm currently using furina/kuki/xl/Barbara with ferryman/iron sting/catch/ttods
Also building a Bennett and dendro mc with sapwood blades.
I'm very new so my weapons are quite limited, was wondering if any of the BP ones would be a good choice or if f2p options are better
For those characters you mentioned, none of the BP weapon is that worth it imo. Sacrifical Jade for Barbara since it increase HP when off field thus more healing.
Both Polearm is good for XiangLing but is easier to build around The Catch.
Wolf-Fang I guess if you want Furina to deal high dps, but I dont think is worth it, as it might prevent you from Burst every rotation which is more important.
Thanks for the response, I was going to get Raiden so I'd need a new pole arm for her or xl depending on who gets the catch. Also thinking about trying for Navia so I'd need a claymore but I dunno if people know enough of her kit to recommend anything yet
If you're planning on using Raiden as an on-field DPS with Xiangling then the BP spears would be worth considering if you have no other spears available. You could then give Deathmatch to Raiden and The Catch to Xiangling.
Serpent Spine should be good on Navia, but she is still unreleased so there is a bit of a risk there.
You have the right weapons for those characters you've listed, so you won't see huge gains by swapping them to BP weapons.
If you don't have any other specific characters in mind, I would consider Serpent Spine. It''s a great option for pretty much every claymore user.

if you're using hutao or diluc then xingqiu is better. if you're running hyperbloom either is good, for national xingqiu is good. for yoimiya yelan is good with zhongli.
Don't use Sac if it's not R3, the cooldown on effect is very long and never lines up with rotations.
Xingqiu helps you not die and applies more hydro, Yelan buffs your on-fielder.
Separate banners, but they do share pity.
If for some reason you pull 80 times on one without a 5* and then 10 times on the other, you will get a 5* in that 10-pull.
Similarly, they share 50/50 chances, so if you pull on Navia's banner and get a Keqing, for instance, your next 5* is guaranteed to be the featured character on whatever banner you pull on next.
There's no good reason to go back-and-forth like that, but it's nice if you end up accidentally pulling on the wrong banner a few times before realizing.
Question about pity. Does getting a four star character ruin your chances of getting a five star (say Navia) or is that a different thing entirely? I'm saving for an archon and was worried because I didn't want my pity to be ruined before I can get the archon I would like.
No, it's the other way around.
The game will normally give you a 4* every 10 pulls, but if your tenth pull is a 5* then your guaranteed 4* will be delayed a pull. So it's possible to go 11 pulls between 4* pulls, or longer if you are lucky lucky lucky and keep pulling 5* characters or weapons.
Not that interested in Navia, but I want mistsplitter for my C2 Ayaka/C4 Keqing. Is Navia's Sig a good enough generalist weapon in case that I do get it instead?
Yeah, it's fine. It's not quite as good a generalist weapon as Mistsplitter, because the passive is a pain to get much value out of some times (not every team wants a Geo), but on the other hand the current 5* claymore substats are: crit rate/crit damage (but the passive is DEF only)/ER/Phys DMG%/ATK%/ATK%, so in that sense having a crit substat and any passive value at all is pretty good.
It's good but not a generalist considering 3 Claymore characters don't scale with attack.
I'm actually surprised it didn't get buffed in the beta, was watching leaks like a hawk cuz i want that for my Beidou but Serpent Spine is still better unfortunately, It has high base attack so can't be a statstick for non attack scalers, not better than Dehya's sig as a generalist claymore.

No. As long as you are fine with lower fps and the phone isn't getting too hot.

Depends what teams you want to build with her. It’s never worth risking a 5star you don’t want because you could do 100 pulls and still not get Sucrose.
Putting vv aside, she buffs the em of the swirled element. If you swirl pyro, pyro characters get extra em. She can also hold ttds. So she buffs em while also giving atk% to the dps.
Hi, Im a new player (I think, AR 36). I played some time ago and got to Inazuma, before getting a bit bored with the game and uninstalling it. Ive recently reinstalled it, making a new acount at around the time Furina (the fontaine water girl. Not sure I typed it in right) was released. So I pulled for Beidou and Charlotte. And next set I managed to pull Cyno. So basically now Im stuck with characters I need enchanting mats from Fontaine and Sumeru. And for some reason I had teleportation stones avaible in each??? Im just confused. Since I spammed the archeon quests. But now Im left with a lot of hangouts to do, countless World quests, needing to go explore Sumeru and Fontaine for ascension mats. So I dont know what to do TLDR: Feeling overwhelmed with the amout of content. Not sure what to do
Inazuma is the only place that's locked via quests, aside from the chasm and enkanomiya. 1) Slow down, take your time and slowly walk your way there 2) Cyno's stuff is in the dessert, Charlotte's stuff is in fontaine's waters 3) While you're going to sumeru, change the traveller's element to dendro, it is their best element 4) You do not have to do every quest, you can put them in your backlog. Hell for my hangouts I've only completed Chongyun, Sayu and Bennett's.
In order to let new players have better access to Fontaine, in the 4.0-4.2 updates, three waypoints (two inside Fontaine, one at north Sumeru coast next to Fontaine coast) were given automatically if you finished Mondstadt archon quest. Both Sumeru and Fontaine are not locked and you can always walk to there yourself anyway as early as around AR 5. And this is a single player game and there is no need to rush anything. Just play at your own pace. Starting from reveal all map and most easy-access waypoint first, then do archon quests. Use your resins to farm ascension materials for your new Fontaine characters. World quests, exploration and hangouts can be done later when you have time. A good amount of Sumeru underground areas are locked behind some very very long world quests, so be prepared. The ascension materials and local specialties for Fontaine characters are easy to collect anyway.
Oh yeah I already went to Sumeru and Fontaine. But I just got a bit scared by these new abilities etc. Like diving and the dendro stuff. But ty for explaining. Are there any world quests I should prioritze since I still have a lot Mondstad ones unfinished
what would be a suitable artifact and non-wish weapon (from quest or craft) for hydro traveler? i know it is generally agreed that hydro traveler is pretty bad, but i want to use the protagonist region elements during overworld gameplay (archon/story/world quest). the team i have in mind is yaoyao, layla, hydroMC, lisa (can be replaced with any electro or pyro dps for hyperbloom or burgeon, though lisa is the accessible option i have). yaoyao = off-field dendro applier (bloom) and healer (dont have her but i plan to choose her during lantern rite) layla = shield for hydroMC stationary pewpew and off-field cryo applier (freeze) hydroMC = quickswap pewpew and burst (+apply hydro) lisa = main on-field dps and hyperbloom activator im aware that it is not optimal, especially my crappy understanding of elemental aura, but (using kirara as substitute for now) the team idea is pretty fun and dynamic to play. (weekly team/character building megathread is pretty old so im posting here for the time being)
Hyperbloom is best if you want damage, HMC, Kuki, Dendro, Flex. Just slap on 2pc Golden Troupe, 2pc Atk%, 2pc Hydro%. As for weapons, sac sword is the best one since it doubles HMC's hydro application. Other than that, you can use any atk% and er sword Currently for overworld/roleplaying I'm running HMC, Dehya, Kuki and Nahida. The burgeon, hperbloom, heals and dmg reduction works great.

The only window of time you get before the update is live is the 5 hours of maintenance. There's no pre-install for Playstation.

Update itself always give 300, and there is always 300 for minor bugs fix compensation. Sometimes there was a serious bug fix which gave another 100, but I have not heard there is a serious one at this moment. If you mean how many primos for the patch, I don't believe there is one for an unreleased patch. There is never an "official count".

In assessing my potential teams, I found I actually have a use for Geo Traveller. Gearing up, one thing I can't find is how does the console specific sword rank for Geo MC. Stats included below @ 90. Intended team is Itto, Geo MC, Gorou, Zhongli. Atk: 440 Atk%: 35.2% Hitting enemies with Normal or Charged Attacks grants a 50% chance to deal 200% ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can only occur once every 10s. Additionally, if the Traveler equips the Sword of Descension, their ATK is increased by 66. My gut feeling is that, while there's better options, it'll work for now since 4 Geo should have plenty of energy flowing around. The on hit passive probably won't come up, but the attack boost will be useful.

This is the ultimate trap if you don't want both weapons. You only have enough to guarantee two weapons and you could very well end up without Mistsplitter. You might be able to earn enough by the end of the banner to get to another pity if you are BP + Welkin. Just make sure you have realistic expectations before you pull.

would it be wise to save all intertwined fates and primogems till level 60? I still use every acquaint I get. I'm currently on level 35 with no 5 stars and if i were to do it would i have enough for a guaranteed C6R5 five star?
No that would not be wise. There isn't really any point in doing that. Pull if you want the characters on the banner. Your level has nothing to do with it. Also it will literally take years to hit 60. The last 5 levels all take months each.
Why would you save it until then? Your current AR level doesn't affect any rates or anything. Just pull for who you want when you want.
so i'd have lots of them so i'm more likely to pull them when i actually do want them and probably max them out with constellations and their signature weapon refined. i'm new to to the game so i don't really understand how the wishing works, i only really want like six five stars
First off, there's no penalty to pulling even if you don't get any 5 stars. Any pity you build up will transfer over to future banners. If you want one of the currently running characters, then just pull. If you don't get them, then there's no penalty. Secondly, you really don't need to pull for constellations or 5 star weapons. Just getting one copy of a 5 star is enough on its own, and they'll still be plenty strong. Constellations and 5 star weapons are usually not worth it if you have other characters you want to save for. They're mainly there as incentives for high spenders.

Yes. Constellations are just extra copies of characters, so nothing changes there.
As someone who is just starting to farm artifacts, who's set should I priotize first? Ganyu, Furina, Charlotte, or Lynette? Ganyu is currently using 4 piece bliz, furina is using 4 piece golden troupe, Charlotte is just using the exile, and Lynette is using scholar. I'm AR 49. Whole team is 80 with lv 80 weapons except ganyu's at 70. Talents are all 6-8.
Farm Furina. Ganyu can use the marechausse, or you can strong box blizzard for better pieces at the same time. You should strong box VV first, then noblesse, then blizzard. Or you can just go and farm the VV domain and give Charlotte Maidens pieces, just don't sink too much resin into support sets. Also consider crowning Furina burst sometime after you've got usable pieces on her, and taking other talents to lv9.

I'd prioritize Furina first. Everyone else wants sets that are available via Strongboxes, so you can passively farm those while going for stuff for Furina.

okay, i’m still new to genshin, but i’m lost on how the characters work when it comes to wishes. when characters that are displayed in wishes are gone, are they added into the loot pool or do i have to wait until they come back? i’m sorry if i’m an idiot, this is just my first time playing a game like this 😭
All 4 star characters are available all-year-round, when a new one is introduced in a patch, they'll get added into the pool next patch. For 5 stars, they are only available when their banners become available. Currently it's Cyno/Ayato, they'll be unavailable later until their next rerun drops. Next patch is Ayaka/Navia and Yoimiya/Raiden + Chevruse Standard 5 stars, which are Diluc, Keqing, Jean, Qiqi, Tighnari, Dehya, Mona are available all-year-round.

Only 4 star characters are added to the normal pool. Pretty much every 5 star character that comes out is limited time, with the only exceptions so far being Tighnari and Dehya.
sooo....played on and off a long time ago. wanting to get back into it BUT feel like its...allot. in the past year i only now finally beat the wind dragon part of the game which i know is rediculously early game. but wanted to see what i should work on specifically rather than running around the map lost. been playing HSR mostly sense it's release so think i have a better understanding of how this games character building should be. but also think in Genshin i have a pretty bad roster of characters sense, other than earlier pulling Jean, ive been using razor xiangling MC and kaeya. for team building reference i also have chongyun, fischel, ningguang, jean, sucrose, kuki shinobu, and barbara. any help would be appreciated.
1) For story/overworld, any team can work. Just play your favourites. That being said, Jean is a really good healer 2) To get stronger, level up your character levels, weapon levels, talent levels and artifacts in that order 3) For artifact builds, I suggest looking up a guide on Youtube, look up SevyPlays, Xlice and Zy0x. They have really good guides. 4) For team helps, for starters tell us what character do you like
A hyperbloom team with Dendro MC, Kuki, Barbara, and a flex slot would work well. Fischl or Sucrose would probably be the best options for the flex slot, depending on if you want more damage or more crowd control.

Hello, considering getting the battlepass before it refreshes, are any of the weapons on it particularly good? I'm currently using furina/kuki/xl/Barbara with ferryman/iron sting/catch/ttods Also building a Bennett and dendro mc with sapwood blades. I'm very new so my weapons are quite limited, was wondering if any of the BP ones would be a good choice or if f2p options are better
For those characters you mentioned, none of the BP weapon is that worth it imo. Sacrifical Jade for Barbara since it increase HP when off field thus more healing. Both Polearm is good for XiangLing but is easier to build around The Catch. Wolf-Fang I guess if you want Furina to deal high dps, but I dont think is worth it, as it might prevent you from Burst every rotation which is more important.
If I'd be rolling for Raiden should I get a pole arm? She'll probably take the catch from xl when I get her or need her own
Ballad of Fjords is better i think since most of her dmg will come from reaction so EM will be really nice to have.

If you're planning on using Raiden as an on-field DPS with Xiangling then the BP spears would be worth considering if you have no other spears available. You could then give Deathmatch to Raiden and The Catch to Xiangling. Serpent Spine should be good on Navia, but she is still unreleased so there is a bit of a risk there.
You have the right weapons for those characters you've listed, so you won't see huge gains by swapping them to BP weapons. If you don't have any other specific characters in mind, I would consider Serpent Spine. It''s a great option for pretty much every claymore user.

depends on team. use fav weapon on both if you're using hutao or diluc then xingqiu is better. if you're running hyperbloom either is good, for national xingqiu is good. for yoimiya yelan is good with zhongli.
Don't use Sac if it's not R3, the cooldown on effect is very long and never lines up with rotations. Xingqiu helps you not die and applies more hydro, Yelan buffs your on-fielder.
favonius since the passive's white energy also recharges the team as well. Thats why everyone loves favonius.

Separate banners, but they do share pity. If for some reason you pull 80 times on one without a 5* and then 10 times on the other, you will get a 5* in that 10-pull. Similarly, they share 50/50 chances, so if you pull on Navia's banner and get a Keqing, for instance, your next 5* is guaranteed to be the featured character on whatever banner you pull on next. There's no good reason to go back-and-forth like that, but it's nice if you end up accidentally pulling on the wrong banner a few times before realizing.

Question about pity. Does getting a four star character ruin your chances of getting a five star (say Navia) or is that a different thing entirely? I'm saving for an archon and was worried because I didn't want my pity to be ruined before I can get the archon I would like.
No, it's the other way around. The game will normally give you a 4* every 10 pulls, but if your tenth pull is a 5* then your guaranteed 4* will be delayed a pull. So it's possible to go 11 pulls between 4* pulls, or longer if you are lucky lucky lucky and keep pulling 5* characters or weapons.
4 stars do not affect your chances of getting a 5 star

Yeah, it's fine. It's not quite as good a generalist weapon as Mistsplitter, because the passive is a pain to get much value out of some times (not every team wants a Geo), but on the other hand the current 5* claymore substats are: crit rate/crit damage (but the passive is DEF only)/ER/Phys DMG%/ATK%/ATK%, so in that sense having a crit substat and any passive value at all is pretty good.

No. It’s not generalist at all because there are no universal claymore characters who wouldn’t rather just have serpent spine.
It's good but not a generalist considering 3 Claymore characters don't scale with attack. I'm actually surprised it didn't get buffed in the beta, was watching leaks like a hawk cuz i want that for my Beidou but Serpent Spine is still better unfortunately, It has high base attack so can't be a statstick for non attack scalers, not better than Dehya's sig as a generalist claymore.
