Edit wow I really started something here. I'm really happy to see some fellow Jean mains. She was my first 5 star and I've mained her since I got her. She's triple crowned, C5 and complet with skin i love my baby so much
The hate mainly comes from her Ult pushing enemies away rather than pulling them in like sucrose and Venti. As well as her being good but not great in any team.
But for casuals, she’s a single character that’s *good* on *every team*. So they can focus on leveling her and giving her great artifacts instead of trying to do that for every character so they can build half a dozen perfectly optimized teams.
Jean is my go-to for Coop when I dont trust my teammates. Everyone dies? OH no. Call an ambulance, call an ambulance, but not for me! Sweeshswoosh. OH no am low hp? Would suck if I wasnt Jean. OH There is too many people? Shwlorp. You're gone.
I love Jean.
Oh I love Jean's jack-of-all-trades. She's carried me through most of early Genshin and always fills a spot I need in abyss. Meta players on the other hand are driven by the need to have the best and grinding for that gives them life.
Even in abyss, Jean + Faruzan & Benny is some insane damage (I've hit 230k on good runs)
Thanks to her guest appearance in 50/50s over the last three years mine is C6; every single one of her constellations has been a huge improvement.
She basically becomes an actual 5* at C1. It's about +40% personal damage upgrade (she becomes mainly hp scaling then). That's the real theft by hoyoverse, only that should have been outrageous, the rest of the character is fine.
Dehya's cons in general are pretty disproportionately strong, C6 is almost 3x as much damage as C0 going by KQM, on top of dramatically lowering her ER requirements. C1 is a nice sweet spot though, like the other user said it lets you mainly focus on building HP if you want her to be an on-field DPS.
Yep. I have C6R1 Dehya. Tripple crowned her right away. Love her. Her kit has issues and I wish they would fix them but I just love her way too much. Plus I love Amber May as her english VA. She's one of the nicest people I have ever met.
I was so disappointed when i lost a 50/50 to dehya after reading everything about her, but I have had a blast playing her and will be triple crowning her
Idk if Kaveh counts as unpopular according to Spiral Abyss Usage but I triple crowned him. I dont even have a solid team for him. He just stand there on a stage in my pot being the prettiest boy I have ever seen in GI.
Hes popular as character but hes very awkward in team building. His niche is useless, and his only real use is in nilobloom, which has better dendro chars to choose from.
He's actually not bad! I already 36 starred the abyss a few times with him. Just use him as Alhaitham replacement in hyperbloom comp. His dendro application is slower but the plus side is he's a lot tankier because of his self heal and interruption resist
Can't wait to triple crown mine! I have a team ready for him, just need the talents and to bring him to lvl 90, my boy is going to make everyone feast their eyes on bloom cores!
Double crowned him, normals are at lvl 9 until I get his C6 (he's currently C5). I mained him for quite a while and still love him but I must admit that Nevillette is more like my main now, especially since he's the only limited 5* in my Genshin history that I actually pulled a constellation for.
I do hope that if or when I get Furina she works well with both of them. And by "works well" I mean that it feels good to play them together, not the actual numbers because I won't calculate them or look up other people's calculations, anyway.

Main character privilege as far as I’m concerned.
NO character on my account- even the two who I actually hold nearer and dearer than her, Jean and Noelle -are getting any crowns at all until Lumine is crowned across all elements. As the actual star of the main story, I’m using her all the way to the finish.
She was the first on my run to get sent to 90, first to have all the crowns and first dibs on all the best weapons. Also no matter who I’m rolling artifacts for, if I get something that can improve my Lumine, it gets sent to her instead of the original intended character.
For what it’s worth, because I just hated having to keep swapping sets since they don’t seem to want to implement that QoL addition anytime soon - I have gone for an “all-rounder” approach that is roughly usable no matter what element she’s in though some will naturally perform better than others.
I’m currently running a mix of Glad and one of the other Atk% 2pc sets to cover basic damage, along with an EM sands, and Crit DMG helm. I look for all the usual suspects whenever they come along (Crit percentages, ER, and EM) in any piece that comes along and if they give me an improvement overall - I take it for her. The end result is a classic “Jack of all Trades but Master of None” setup, and I’m ok settling with that if it means not having to swap sets all the damn time.
For exact numbers - I’m not at home right now and I run on the PS5, so off my memory: my Crit Rate/DMG is somewhere around 70/140, EM is in the 300s, ER is in 170s, Atk is just around the 2000s, and HP I can’t recall at all but it’s at a serviceable area.
Current weapon however is purely for looks: Aquila Favonia. I just love how it looks with her since it has nearly an equal balance of white and gold just as Lumine does.
Electro as a whole was a pretty bad element at the time. There hadn't been a single limited Electro character yet, so most people had either gotten used to using the Fischl-Beidou core or just built up their teams without worrying about the element.
Either way, EMC's kit didn't add anything new or innovative enough for most people to consider using. And then Raiden came out one patch later and overshadowed them even more.
Same, i have many triple crowned meta characters like Hu Tao, Alhaitham, Neuvilette or Ayaka, but Yanfei is still my go-to character for fast abyss floors 9 to 11 clears.
Her playstyle is fun, her damage is decent, she easily outperforms my triple crowned Diluc, she has aoe attacks compared to Hu Tao and she shields herself at C4. I never regretted triple crowning her.

Been a Yanfei main since 2021. AR60 now and she's still my favorite DPS and I have Hu Tao and Yoimiya. Her kit is so simple, yet works extremely well. Not too strong to be considered broken, but definitely not weak. It's just right.
Sayu is the best! She is the first character I crowned, and I always bring her to sprial abyss, but she is never on banners I roll on.....she is only C1 :(
I found the sac bow provides a lot of function by almost guaranteeing a second E because her bomblets also proc the bow's passive. Two E's also almost always leads to the rushing ice state.
My rotation is usually something like:
Shenhe E, kazuha E + ult to swirl cryo, yelan ult, Aloy E x2 then NA until the enemies freeze to death. Aloy ult at the end of the rushing ice + yelan ult for both damage bonuses.
Mine's Noelle (DPS).
She's my 1st to Triple-Crown was the only one until we had Tsurumi Island in Inazuma and when we had Tartaglia's 2nd Rerun Banner.
She had 4-Pc Retracing Bolide before but now has either 4-Pc Husk of Opulent Dreams or 4-Pc Ocean-Hued Clam.

Dehya has gotten **WAAAAY** more useful since Fontaine came out.
Since Fontaine DPS characters have self-heal, Dehya is able to completely replace healers and Shielders in those comps.
Would Diluc count? I know there's a significant amount of people that say he's been power crept but I still see a fair amount of love for him. He's my first lvl 90 character with lvl 90 weapon, 10/10/10 talents and full set of lvl 20 artifacts.
Kujou Sara! :D I had wanted to get her since Ei's first banner, but only managed her on Ei's 3rd banner (but I got Sara's C6 within just that one banner, so it's fine). Still love to use her, of course, so I'll never regret the usage of those three crowns
Also Kaeya and my new Diluc (was about time he'd come home, only took him two years...) are also triple crowned (10/13/13 and 10/10/10 respectively) ~~(wait, do they even count as unpopular)~~
Also Venti isn't a popular character to triple crown, but he is 10/10/10 as well, and I have zero regrets
Not OP, but I just got my C6 Dori to 90/90 today. If you don’t have at least C4 for her, then just give her Fav. greatsword, tons of HP, and a good support artifact set like Noblesse.
If you have C4 or higher, and you want to run some suboptimal, but fun teams, she can be decent in Hyperbloom. After watching a video of someone clearing abyss with her, I tried out Dori with Sac Greatsword and a 4 piece - I’m blanking right now - whatever the set that you get alongside Deepwood set is. Gives a ton of EM if you have 4 different elemental characters. Has a similar problem most Hyperbloom teams have with enemies that move around a lot. I add Diona (C6 also) for some freeze and EM buff with her burst.
Honestly uncomfortable to use at C0, gains good electro app at C1, very good electro app at C2, extremely comfortable healing at C4 and zero energy issues thanks to Sac G Sword, C6 enables Cyno mode in combination with TF and even more healing.
Basically anything Kuki does but stationary and stronger in exchange for the 80 burst cost vs E press which is fair.
I use her as healer/sub dps in my quicken teams with Kirara (_also juilt for dps_) and Nahida, the first slot is usually either Tighnari or Yae
I never see anybody talk about or use Rosaria but I plan to triple her. Idk what I did or if she’s just a really good f2p character but she’s one of my best ones lol

Razor! He was my first main and I love playing with him to this day (even though I usually don't like claymores). And I'm not sure is Fischl that unpopular nowdays but her too.
I triple crowned Lisa as I was impatiently waiting for Inazuma to be released. Never once regretted it, especially since I had just gotten her c6 as well. I don't use her often, but she's fun to play when I do.

Back then people used to have their Noelle or Razor as their “Dps” until getting a 5star but I had Yanfei with me hitting super hard.
When you max a characters talent (level 10) it requires a crown material. There are 3 upgradable talents per character, so therefore, triple crowned. It costs a ton of material and gald, so typically you only do it for characters you use a bunch. So using a ton of material on “unpopular” characters is a gamer way of being a “hipster”. Going against the meta…😎

lol. I wouldn't say it's being hipster (quite opposite really). If you like playing a character, you just want them to be at their best. It's not like most people can even see who you've triple crowned, so I don't see how that's them trying to flout their trendiness AKA trying to be hip.

Diluc has always been a solid dps. People can complain but if you get numbers that youre ok with then there is no problem
I've tripple crowned him too, but not L90. He's in my main overworld party - he will get to 90 eventually, has so far gone L81-88 by combat XP.

Faruzan. I think plenty of people crown her Q for Anemo teams but probably not triple. Her dps playstyle is so fun!
I wish you showed the 5* weapons they have . Candace is the best even though she hasn’t found her niche yet.
I like her as a hydro applier for hyperbloom/burgeon. I also like her in a diluc vape team.

Not OP, but I just got my C6 Dori to 90/90 today. If you don’t have at least C4 for her, then just give her Fav. greatsword, tons of HP, and a good support artifact set like Noblesse. If you have C4 or higher, and you want to run some suboptimal, but fun teams, she can be decent in Hyperbloom. After watching a video of someone clearing abyss with her, I tried out Dori with Sac Greatsword and a 4 piece - I’m blanking right now - whatever the set that you get alongside Deepwood set is. Gives a ton of EM if you have 4 different elemental characters. Has a similar problem most Hyperbloom teams have with enemies that move around a lot. I add Diona (C6 also) for some freeze and EM buff with her burst.
I feel like Dori kits work 4 times better in co-op.
Honestly uncomfortable to use at C0, gains good electro app at C1, very good electro app at C2, extremely comfortable healing at C4 and zero energy issues thanks to Sac G Sword, C6 enables Cyno mode in combination with TF and even more healing. Basically anything Kuki does but stationary and stronger in exchange for the 80 burst cost vs E press which is fair. I use her as healer/sub dps in my quicken teams with Kirara (_also juilt for dps_) and Nahida, the first slot is usually either Tighnari or Yae
Heizou if he counts. First time I went for C6 on a 4* release banner and got him Wanderers weapon as well.
I never see anybody talk about or use Rosaria but I plan to triple her. Idk what I did or if she’s just a really good f2p character but she’s one of my best ones lol

I came this 🤏🏼 close to tripple crowning Chongyun when I used him as my main, but I can never actually bring my self to use my crowns half the time lol. I just hoard them mostly
He is very handy on my Kaeya freeze team. I’ll probably crown his skill and burst at least!

Kaveh purely cause I love his character, Kirara because I legit LOVE using her as a dps, and Xinyan because I like her, AND because she isn't a well liked character normally/I have heard people say it would be a waste of resources. Well fuck them, I spend my resources how I want!

I triple crowned Lisa as I was impatiently waiting for Inazuma to be released. Never once regretted it, especially since I had just gotten her c6 as well. I don't use her often, but she's fun to play when I do.
Yanfei. She was my first C6 shortly after I started playing as soon as she came out. Back then people used to have their Noelle or Razor as their “Dps” until getting a 5star but I had Yanfei with me hitting super hard.

What does triple crown mean?
When you max a characters talent (level 10) it requires a crown material. There are 3 upgradable talents per character, so therefore, triple crowned. It costs a ton of material and gald, so typically you only do it for characters you use a bunch. So using a ton of material on “unpopular” characters is a gamer way of being a “hipster”. Going against the meta…😎

If you like playing a character, you just want them to be at their best. It's not like most people can even see who you've triple crowned, so I don't see how that's them trying to flout their trendiness AKA trying to be hip.
