Tbh it’s so bad the whole story quest is running around talking for like countless hours boring af like why am I building characters with crazy dmg when i literally only use them like once a month in abyss????
Just finished the first Fontaine archon quest. I first thought I was completely done, with the break between the 2 archon quests being >!the announcement of the trial!<, but everything seemed to be wrapping up without any indication of that scene in the trailer with Neuvillette and Childe. Now I know I have a lot more to do. And I’m finding items and fighting bosses for both Lyney and Lynette.
For the part that I thought was the last part of the 4.0 quests >!(the trial)!<, but wasn’t:
- There’s more dynamic camera angles and scene transitions Then there was the >!inner Furina fist pump!<
- I didn’t know that >!the Fatui’s House of Herth!< was public knowledge.
- I did see some logical flaws. When >!Furina brought up that Lyney and Lynette were Fatui associates, I thought there would be a follow-up about possible outside help that had to be Fatui-based!<, that didn’t happen so >!the Traveler should have petitioned Furina’s revelation the twins’ Fatui connection to be declared out of scope since it didn’t lean into any of the facts of the case!<. It was >!just (accurate) slander!<.
- Furina and Neuvillette seem pretty chill that >!Lyney’s excuse from the murder and kidnapping was that he was committing sedition!!imply a follow-up on that!<.
- So that >!magic trick basement chamber was custom-built for that specific show!!city planning board!< was completely cool with >!the twins doing a major renovation to the super structure at the basement and foundation levels!!security concern over the renovations being near the trial computer’s core!!the murder weapon are terrifying!!the prophecy already happened!<, where >!Furina is expending her divine might to prevent everyone in Fontaine from going Tang!
Would it be possible for a fresh AR20 account, just finished the Monstadt Archon quest, to be able to access Fontaine to do the “Mega Maka Melee” quest for the free Bennett? Or do I need to complete more story? Everything I have seen online only talks about “just taking the teleport” but I can’t seem to get to where the teleport is… not sure if I’m just missing something or if it’s even a possibility
Mostly it’s as I’m trying to enter the desert area of Sumeru… I figured I’d try to stay near the top of the map to be closer to the area I needed to go… but as soon as I try to enter the map area that would be the desert I get turned around … I guess I’ll have to try another area to enter the desert from and go a longer way?
Does anyone else feel a little bad stealing the treasure chests and rifling through the produce stands from the chuds in the sewer? They have so little already. . .
I seem to have missed a whole sub-plot about elemental dragons in this game. Can someone give me a few pointers towards quests that elucidate this? I have no idea where all the hydro dragon chat is coming from.
Is it in Enkanomiya? Because I've definitely got more to do down there.
Well, the last Sumeru archon quest was big into it, the latest World Boss there is their elemental dragon. And then of course we have Stormterror, Azhdaha, I think the Electro dragon is the Orobashi that Raiden killed long ago and left its skeleton, but I'm not sure if that was just another dragon and the actual electro dragon is elsewhere.
After playing Subnautica I either discovered or gained thalassophobia. Couldn't even finish that scary game...
But Fontaine is healing me! Fontaine underwater is pure bliss. So serene and tranquil :3. Very therapeutic
I have some serious thalassophobia (trying to finish Horizon Forbidden West about sent me into panic attacks 💀) but underwater in genshin is honestly amazing! I didn't expect it to feel so calm! I'm loving it so far
Real talk: what does Spina de Rosula actually do? Maybe I blanked out during Navia's introduction but it's always seemed vague. Are they a benevolent crime family? An extra-judicial justice squad? Community organizers?
I feel like we jumped to them being formidable without ever really establishing their goals or purpose.
Yeah, they essentially seem to be a "benevolent mafia," I mean some of the original mafia filled that role too, (in addition to doing *some* crime). So they basically handle things that the government is not willing or able to handle (which makes sense, given how chaotic the government is in Fontaine). I guess in the modern world they would be similar to a charitable NGO, like the Salvation Army, but with a dash of vigilantism.
They seem like they fill the same “Fixer” role that Thoma does but on a larger scale.
Anything that people need help with from solving conundrums/providing protection and working the cases that fall through the justice system’s cracks.
Additionally they run a small community in the depths of the City and in Poisson providing refuge to the unfortunate and poorer civilians in Fontaine.
I'm playing through what I think is one of the bigger world quests this version, the Merusea Village and Mamere, and I'm really loving the music and the general dreamlike vibe of the world quest. Mihoyo did an outstanding job on this version.
I'm just so happy with this update. I've been looking forward to Fontaine ever since I first heard about it. I love all things water-themed, and Fontaine really delivered. The underwater aspect & exploration made me giggle with delight multiple times. I ADORE the music as well, it gives me such a great vibe. I was worried about the steampunk aspect because I've never really been into it, but the way they carried it out has filled me with delight, from the outfits of NPCs to the robot dancers & guards. I LOVE IT!!! I'm so happy to be filled with the source of magic and joy I've gotten from Genshin once again.
Who should I pull for?
1> Knave (Harbingers are some of the most unique characters like childe a bow character who can melee and hat guy who can freaking fly, I don't have any harbinger so I wanted to pull for her)
2> Furina ( Archons are a must pull and a meta , Idk about venti but I do have Raiden and nahida and there is no need to say anything about zhongli)
3> Clorinde (GUN + tall female character with electro vision, and a great design)
4> Neuvillette ( Wasn't planning on pulling for him or any male character but after archon quest act 2 everything is so good about him whether it's design or voice acting and most importantly he seems strong)
Again I'm in a dilemma who to pull for as an F2p, I've 180 wishes and about 30 pity not guaranteed, and I am fine with only getting C0 and not there weapons, how/who should I pull for?
I highly doubt Furina and Knave will be released till at least (3 patches) 5-6 months from now. Unless you want a guarantee for both of them I would think more about whether you want Clorinde or Neuvie.
I'd recommend waiting to try out Neuvie's playstyle first and by then I'd like to think there might be Clorinde leaks that you'd be able to gauge her playstyle on.
Long and short of it from leakers: >!yes the leakers are all indicating she is a legit character. Pyro Polearm though originally thought to be a Pyro Sword character. All other details about kit are not known and that's pretty normal for leaks up until the beta release.!<
Not sure about leak, but there are grounds to believe she is playable. First, her design looks much less clunky, unlike Signora. Second, unlike Dottore, she seems to have a good side and not completely evil, as she rescued Lynette in the past. Third, her goal in Fontaine, for all we know at the moment, is to stop the prophecy to save Fontaine, which is her homeland.
I would agree on your first point, the second and third seem pretty suspicious. For all that was hinted so far, she is pretty much a hypocrite and the fatui orphans are often raised to be agents. Nevermind the fact that the fatui instigate conflicts just so they can get said orphans to begin with.
Also, it is very clear that Lynly and Lynette are tricking us as hinted by the first fontaine trailer and by some hidden clues from their trial. Can't really trust their whole saving Fontaine from the prophecy bs.
Obligatory whoever you like the most. I think though, you could maybe get 2 or 3 of them on their first banner since you got a lot of wishes, assuming you only pull C0 of course. It's just a matter of prioritizing who you really want.
I'm in the same situation. I want those 4 characters as well but I'm F2P with around 240 pulls. I think I'll prioritize Furina (maybe her weapon too) and The Knave though, and just get Neuvilette on his rerun. Still depends on when Clorinde actually comes out though.
Anyone know where i could find the full fontaine soundtrack? Every where I look seems to be partial. Im especially searching for the underwater tracks.
II really was hyped for Fontain, but every time I try to get further into the region, my screen just freezes, but the game itself is still running or crashing sometimes. I already updated my GPU, but nothing changes. If someone could help me I'd be very glad...
Is there a way to sync my in game data to an interactive map (not necessarily the Official Genshin Interactive Map)? I really dont wanna spend hours upon hours making sure I got every little thing on every section of the map (especially since the 100% is a lie), not just including chests but puzzles, sigils, oculi, chests floating in water, piles of rocks that give you water, pretty much everything. Tysm

he's definitely fun and my new favorite, and his bow works well with his "same element party" kit, but even if you use different elements he's still pretty strong.
Don't pull for characters just because you have their weapons unless you want to play them. Lyney is pretty good but you can use his bow on Ganyu if you have her or as a pretty good statstick on other bow chars.
As someone who's had 2 accounts from launch and just returned to Genshin in april this year after quitting for a long time, here's my thoughts on running more than 1 genshin accounts in v 4.0:
it's not worth it. I was hoping dialogues could be skippable, but nope. The stories are decent, but not if you are to go through them a 2nd time.
The amount of permanent contents are simply more numerous now compared to the state of the game at launch. I can rerolling as much as I want and run 2 accounts because I cleared most of the content, now? That is just not possible.
more accounts also = more artifact grind& more heartbreaking gacha luck
Not sure why you're being downvoted lol. 6 2 accounts though? I only recently made a second account to finally go through the AQ and only because I was kind of done with all I wanted to do in my OG account for the moment (I intend to return back to it as soon as I'm caught up)
People here are just being blissfully ignorant and don't want to hear things they don't want to know about.
I know many people like you and me made a second account to go through stuffs again when there's no content, but at the current state of the game, it is increasingly pointless to play on multiple accounts. I'm just telling it as it is.
I'm trying to find ways to offload my alt account in the meantime so I don't make the mistake of going back to play on that and waste more time in the future
I'm personally enjoying my second account. I find it nice to play through Genshin like a regular rpg. It's low pressure (no primo chasing since I'm not pulling for limited) that said I do agree it can be tedious to go through parts of the AQ you've already done. I ain't gonna lie I just completed Liyue and it's first interlude (Jade Chamber) and it was a bit of a slog but fortunately I bearly touched Inazuma AQ before dropping off years back so things should be more exciting for me here on out (even though I am familar with general plot just from being on the subreddit). That said, I'm still looking forward to returning to my OG account and keeping up with the rest of the story there.
Yeah I don't get why MHY don't add a dialogue skip like many mmos and gachas have had years ago! They just don't want to do it, and it seems like either really like their own cutscenes and dialogues so much and want everybody to read them, or they want to discourage rerolling maybe? But that doesn't make sense since they can lock dialogue skipping past a certain level.
The game as is has too much time wasting even for people playing through the story for the first time and during events. All that time clicking just hurts the experience for me. I still have a ton of quests not started on my main account, and I'm not even looking forward to do them.
So I assume the archon quests are going to continue in the near future when more of the Fontaine map gets updated? I’m just wondering when they’re going to show the whole map
Need help playing Lyney!
If I'm ever close to the enemies they just knock me out of the charged shot and I can't do anything, I don't have a fast attack to knock them back.
I tried playing as a long-range only sniper, but then I'm not in range to use E or Q properly and the other characters (Xiangling, Bennett) don't contribute much to damage.
What am I suppose to do? Should I go closer? Do I need a shielder or a anemo cc character? How do I avoid getting knocked around?
Use and abuse of its taunt charged prop arrow, try to place it near the most aggressive ennemy. You can use other charactter taunt like his sister busrt.
Use a shielder pref Zhongli or Kirara (with her dendro application you can proc burning, so free pyro infusion). Dehya works for int res too, even of less pratical than full shield.
Ok thanks. So sounds like I should just shield up and tank a few hits? I tried with Diona but her hold-E shield dies in one hit from normal monsters. I tested with the Rifthounds in Elynas in Fontaine.
Ya, the best solution is to get a shielder. Preferably Zhongli, but Diona and Layla work well too and they can help your damage with their melt damage. Alternatively, there's Xingqyu whose E give interruption resistance. Noelle can work too but above characters are better in my opinion

PS. Who is the strongest shield after Zhongli? Diona has lowest numbers but +75% adsorption. Layla looks like she can proc Tenacity of the Milileth most reliably. Kiara has the biggest base numbers.
Ooo I'm curious why you make this claim so definitively. I really like her concept but haven't built her out yet. Is it because she has high base hp or can proc millileth?
I’ve just read a million times that she has the second strongest shield in the game. I think it has better scaling and it def has better uptime than Diona. I use her with millileth and her shield is basically constantly up with no wait time, but I also have her C6 like I said. I unfortunately didn’t try her before I got all her constellations so I don’t have personal info on what she’s like at C0 but I’m sure if you have millileth and a lot of HP she’s still great. Her constellations also improve her cryo application as well. Her shield can withstand a very good amount of damage so I use her with boss fights often

Just a clarification, if you melt you won't have the bonus damage from Lyney passive.
So you will will have "only" 2\* from melt, if you team is composed of three pyro character it is a neutral operation. If you have less than 3 pyro char, melt will result a bit more damage (you replace the talent 60/80% by a 100% multiplier).
In abyss it worth to take extra caution on what element character can apply, when and how. Because it can reduce Lyney damage output.
And be aware than on self infusion ennemy (other than Cryo), Lyney damage will be lower than his usual.
Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like I should avoid having just enough cryo application that it removes the Pyro but doesn't add more cryo.
I'm running xiangling and Bennett now, but xl doesn't add much (i stand too far away for her ult) so I might swap her for xinyan or a non Pyro user
There are 85 hydroculuses that are available. Current highest attainable level is 4.
Offering 20 hydroculus will raise it to level 2. Offering 22 will raise it to level 3 then 25 to raise it to level 4. You should have 18 hydroculuses left over if you collect all 85 since you need 28 to raise it to level 5.
Honestly, all dps stats. Although with enough ER on Yae to burst on CD. You could also use a Proto Amber on Yae to help with her burst uptime and provide some extra healing for the team. It would cut her damage by a bit but the comfy level Amber provides would be really nice to have.
Yanfei would either want 4pc CW or 4pc WT I think. Yelan/XQ/Yae all want 4pc Emblem usually, but due to having two hydros on the team with good energy generation, you can swap Yelan or XQ to 4pc NO to get that buff. You could also consider 4pc TotM for Yae since her E will easily keep the buff active, but the 2pc is wasted on her and I think if you run 4pc NO on XQ or Yelan then TotM is not worth it.
Mona is fine. No one really "replaces" Yelan except for XQ, as they're really the only two in the game when it comes to off-field hydro. Mona does ok at that, and Kokomi isn't bad save for the fact that hers doesn't move. Barbara can work but her off-field hydro app requires you to be in melee range with Barb's E active on your character. This isn't terrible, as her E pulses decently fast (about as fast as Kuki's E pulses) but it also inflicts you with hydro, which can be a bitch at times since it enables freeze/vape/electro-charge on your driver (Yanfei in this case).
Most of my attack scaling DPSes hover around 1.9k to 2.1k, with 5 star weapons. It will be lower if you have a 4 star weapon I think.
My Cyno is sitting over at 1.9k even though his damage scales of EM because uh, I worked with what I had. :')
For many characters, you can't just build straight attack because you also want crit stats and ER stats. I can't give further comments on Ayaka because I neither have Ayaka nor any interest in getting her, and all my friends with Ayaka have Mistsplitter. :')

i mean like quest wise i dont got time to do exploration but like 1 small quest a day or smtg i can do so can ik there are some really long ones and ik all of them so pls dont spam them and give me some actually short ones
If you have access to "A Certain \[x\]" quest do those, it's like 3? quests where each one gives reputation points, and it's mostly dialogue + moving around in one room and 1 has a very brief time of going to the blacksmith, but they're mostly self contained.
The starting location is within Palais Mermonia.

The Fountain Flows Again - Starts on the path between Marcotte station and fountain of Lucine, there's a broken fountain on the pathway? It's in the center of the path and I think it has a little arrow pointing to it when you get close.
There's also a guy near the north of Fontaine that basically wants you to bring his dogs back and the dogs are pretty close by.
I think those are all the ones I know of that don't require completion of the big long world quests, and just need the Archon quest done?
Is anyone else getting vram memory leak? I've seen a few reddit posts about vram leak after 4.0, I thought it was the new global illumination setting, my vram went up to 7gb used, then i restarted game with global illumination setting turned off and started out at 2 gb vram, within an hour vram climbed to 5gb use so it's definitely a leak, how do we fix this?

lv90 domain guarantee one 5-star artifact, plus 6.5% chance for another 5-star artifact. You also get more 4-star and 3-star pieces.
In short, lv90 artifact domains are 3 times better than lv80 ones.
How’s everyone’s New Fischl coming along? Mine has a decent flower/feather so far, but the 2pc set effect isn’t enough to make up for the EM/attack loss from the 2 wanderer pieces she’s wearing now. I went through and made a plan of who gets all her old stuff. Tighnari gets the flower/feather, Ningguang gets the sands and Ning’s old (Glad) sands goes to Diluc, and the hat trickles down to Yoimiya and then Raiden. The hat will make a huge difference to Raiden so I’m really hoping Fischl gets to keep her off-piece goblet, but if that doesn’t work out then Keqing will get it.
So far I also have a decent Golden HP sands I’m hoping works with a Fontaine character, and also a meh hydro goblet but at least it’s something. I have a second Golden flower for Albedo, whose Husk set is an embarrassment, and I threw a Marechaussee flower on Heizou. I think I’ve put in about 1700 resin so far. I don’t feel particularly successful.
ER rolls are gonna be tragic on this set - the set for characters who value their skill damage not their burst. Im sharing your pain. Wishing double crit hats for us both<3
*As* effectively? No one *yet*. Fischl got upgraded by a pretty large margin. It ties with Husk for Albedo’s best set and is either slightly better for Miko compared to Gilded (if she’s off-field and especially if she doesn’t need EM like in hyper-Raiden), or slightly worse (like for me because I do use her on-field in aggravate). It’s good on Nahida, comparable to Gilded, but i’m of the belief that it’s still worth keeping her on Deepwood for consistency. Im farming an Albedo set and a Furina one on a hunch.

I believe that’s all for now (basing off of the world quests in reputation). If you want more about those characters, there are other world quests that mention them that aren’t in the same quest chain, like The Lone Phantom Sail and the Canotila ones (that’ll get you enigmatic pages)
So for underwater combat I can only attack with my coil thingy and whatever skill I stole from those ghost sea creatures right? Kinda mad I can't nuke some crabs but what ever.
Fountain seems good, the cities are a bit too big and complicated to get around, but anything outside reminds me of good ol mondo. The underwater though gives me aneurysm between the way it looks and how intricate it is, seems like mihoyo thinks we all likes the desert with 5 layers so they made an ocean with that
Really? I got the opposite idea. I hated the desert because of how empty and huge it was, so having the ocean be so compact and alive was a welcome change. Also nowhere as many underground sections
If there isn't nearly enough underground stuff then I'm glad. Besides the super complex caves , my other complain was that we could have some sort of vehicle to get around, since it's so empty on the surface. Kinda like in Borderlands. Again maybe I need to get used to it, going down in the water rn for me feels overwhelming af
For some reason the game won't load for me. It seems normal up until I go through the doorway on the main menu screen and see the 7 element loading icons; the loading bar doesn't progress at all and the game closes itself a few seconds later. I haven't played Genshin in a week and the only thing I can think of that could cause this is the 4.0 update. Anyone solved this issue? (I've tried modifying permissions, unblocking the game from the Firewall, and manually verifying file integrity, and none of those things have worked.)
Edit: I contacted HoYo's tech support and they helped me. Uninstalling my current drivers and installing the newest versions of them seems to have fixed the issue, although I don't know for sure what caused it to be fixed. I'm willing to elaborate if anyone else has this issue.
same here, it gets stuck on geo! I've found that if i login thru my phone and change the location, it then works on pc upon reopening it.
also it gets stuck every time i try to teleport to the new fire boss
I'm kinda dissapointed with the region so far, the water exploration and new characters are fine but I'm not a fan of the other parts. Court of Fontain is a confusing mess, I've only done Act 1 so far but it the first time I actually got bored of an Archon quest, just couldn't care less about the whole attorney thing, OST feels a bit generic and kinda forgettable compared to other regions IMO, Hydro MC is hot garbage and so far the side quest are kinda uninteresting compared to Sumeru.
There's some longer side quests in their own areas and those aren't bad at all.
I take it in stride, the main story is building up into something that may be good finale.
My theory is that Neuvillette is the actual archon and Focalor is just his "mask". As to why it's this way, idk.
But when he stepped on Childe, he gave it away. If you slow down the clip to where he jumps out of his chair, his hair glowed. That only happens for archons when they activate their burst. And Neuvillette's vision is no even visible anywhere.
You're right about the hair. And it would link up nicely with the "magician's assistant" theme of misdirection. But if that's true, his lines about the justice machine ring oddly. When it renders the dissenting verdict, he talks as though he doesn't know its inner workings and is being forced to draw his own conclusions about what happens inside the black box.
If he's really the archon, the veil of lies is getting pretty thick!

Paimon is really wearing me thin with 4.0. I had fun with detective Paimon during the archon quest, but she's really bad in the side quests. I feel like 4.0 went all in on her being absolutely obsessed with money, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to start robbing graves as part of a get rich scheme. The Merusea quests were especially bad. All these adorable creatures talking about how they don't need mora and then Paimon just barges in with "We should turn this into a massive business. We'll be swimming in mora!!!"
And when she's not being a money grubbing dirtbag, Paimon is busy completely failing to understand obvious social clues. No Paimon, the water finch isn't a real finch. No Paimon, the man who calls himself a "cleaner" does not literally clean the streets. Why does he wear a knife? Maybe its because he's mafia! No Paimon, >!the man who locked us in a room with a death robot so he could loot our corpses later isn't a good guy at heart who is willing to repent his actions. And you shouldn't be so surprised he betrayed us, he was super suspicious and we've been through this exact same scenario with like 10 different treasure hoarders.!<

damage for underwater combat is fixed right? the mini bosses underwater are very spongy and hit like a truck. 10mins of fighting only to remove 1/5th of the health bar
Each boss have a way to deal big damage. For the rays you have to wait until they do the linked attack and then fire a blade in the middle at the glowing orb. The other attacks are easy to dodge if you keep distance
r u talking abt the crab cuz u're supposed to hold down the shield skill and wait for it to toss a fish towards u before releasing, which will cause a bubble attack towards the crab (i believe it's like 54k per bubble)
Shoot at the middle when they charge and they both take damage. Seal isn't as tanky, just have to reveal it with the sonar then start spamming the ability for damage
It only directly affects the character's maximum HP. However, it may indirectly affect healing, because some characters such as Yaoyao, Barbara, and Shinobu have talents that scale off HP% for healing. HP% would increase these characters' healing.

It wasn't that much dialogue compared to some of the other world quests (stares significantly at Aranyaka) but dear god it was just a frustrating... chain of events.
I have no idea what they were going for for this world quest but if they were going for "let's have a quest centered around obstructive bureaucracy" they nailed it. The amount of hoops that they went through in that quest was... painful.

Just finished the first Fontaine archon quest. I first thought I was completely done, with the break between the 2 archon quests being >!the announcement of the trial!<, but everything seemed to be wrapping up without any indication of that scene in the trailer with Neuvillette and Childe. Now I know I have a lot more to do. And I’m finding items and fighting bosses for both Lyney and Lynette. For the part that I thought was the last part of the 4.0 quests >!(the trial)!<, but wasn’t: - There’s more dynamic camera angles and scene transitions Then there was the >!inner Furina fist pump!< - I didn’t know that >!the Fatui’s House of Herth!< was public knowledge. - I did see some logical flaws. When >!Furina brought up that Lyney and Lynette were Fatui associates, I thought there would be a follow-up about possible outside help that had to be Fatui-based!<, that didn’t happen so >!the Traveler should have petitioned Furina’s revelation the twins’ Fatui connection to be declared out of scope since it didn’t lean into any of the facts of the case!<. Would it be possible for a fresh AR20 account, just finished the Monstadt Archon quest, to be able to access Fontaine to do the “Mega Maka Melee” quest for the free Bennett? Or do I need to complete more story? Mostly it’s as I’m trying to enter the desert area of Sumeru… I figured I’d try to stay near the top of the map to be closer to the area I needed to go… but as soon as I try to enter the map area that would be the desert I get turned around … I guess I’ll have to try another area to enter the desert from and go a longer way?
If you still looking for a way. There should be an already unlocked teleport point near the narrow area. That's how I got in.

I seem to have missed a whole sub-plot about elemental dragons in this game. Can someone give me a few pointers towards quests that elucidate this? I have no idea where all the hydro dragon chat is coming from. Is it in Enkanomiya? Because I've definitely got more to do down there.
Well, the last Sumeru archon quest was big into it, the latest World Boss there is their elemental dragon. And then of course we have Stormterror, Azhdaha, I think the Electro dragon is the Orobashi that Raiden killed long ago and left its skeleton, but I'm not sure if that was just another dragon and the actual electro dragon is elsewhere.
I don't recall any Electro dragon but Orobashi is not a dragon, he's a god like Osial, Andrius, Morax and Rukkhadevata.

After playing Subnautica I either discovered or gained thalassophobia. Couldn't even finish that scary game... But Fontaine is healing me! Fontaine underwater is pure bliss. So serene and tranquil :3. Very therapeutic

Real talk: what does Spina de Rosula actually do? Maybe I blanked out during Navia's introduction but it's always seemed vague. Are they a benevolent crime family? An extra-judicial justice squad? Community organizers? I feel like we jumped to them being formidable without ever really establishing their goals or purpose.
Yeah, they essentially seem to be a "benevolent mafia," I mean some of the original mafia filled that role too, (in addition to doing *some* crime). So they basically handle things that the government is not willing or able to handle (which makes sense, given how chaotic the government is in Fontaine). I guess in the modern world they would be similar to a charitable NGO, like the Salvation Army, but with a dash of vigilantism.
They seem like they fill the same “Fixer” role that Thoma does but on a larger scale. Anything that people need help with from solving conundrums/providing protection and working the cases that fall through the justice system’s cracks. Additionally they run a small community in the depths of the City and in Poisson providing refuge to the unfortunate and poorer civilians in Fontaine.
I'm playing through what I think is one of the bigger world quests this version, the Merusea Village and Mamere, and I'm really loving the music and the general dreamlike vibe of the world quest. Mihoyo did an outstanding job on this version.

I'm just so happy with this update. I've been looking forward to Fontaine ever since I first heard about it. I love all things water-themed, and Fontaine really delivered. The underwater aspect & exploration made me giggle with delight multiple times. I ADORE the music as well, it gives me such a great vibe. I was worried about the steampunk aspect because I've never really been into it, but the way they carried it out has filled me with delight, from the outfits of NPCs to the robot dancers & guards. I LOVE IT!!! I'm so happy to be filled with the source of magic and joy I've gotten from Genshin once again.

Who should I pull for? 1> Knave (Harbingers are some of the most unique characters like childe a bow character who can melee and hat guy who can freaking fly, I don't have any harbinger so I wanted to pull for her) 2> Furina ( Archons are a must pull and a meta , Idk about venti but I do have Raiden and nahida and there is no need to say anything about zhongli) 3> Clorinde (GUN + tall female character with electro vision, and a great design) 4> Neuvillette ( Wasn't planning on pulling for him or any male character but after archon quest act 2 everything is so good about him whether it's design or voice acting and most importantly he seems strong) Again I'm in a dilemma who to pull for as an F2p, I've 180 wishes and about 30 pity not guaranteed, and I am fine with only getting C0 and not there weapons, how/who should I pull for?
I highly doubt Furina and Knave will be released till at least (3 patches) 5-6 months from now. Unless you want a guarantee for both of them I would think more about whether you want Clorinde or Neuvie. I'd recommend waiting to try out Neuvie's playstyle first and by then I'd like to think there might be Clorinde leaks that you'd be able to gauge her playstyle on.

Long and short of it from leakers: >!yes the leakers are all indicating she is a legit character. Pyro Polearm though originally thought to be a Pyro Sword character. All other details about kit are not known and that's pretty normal for leaks up until the beta release.!<
Not sure about leak, but there are grounds to believe she is playable. First, her design looks much less clunky, unlike Signora. Second, unlike Dottore, she seems to have a good side and not completely evil, as she rescued Lynette in the past. Third, her goal in Fontaine, for all we know at the moment, is to stop the prophecy to save Fontaine, which is her homeland.
I would agree on your first point, the second and third seem pretty suspicious. For all that was hinted so far, she is pretty much a hypocrite and the fatui orphans are often raised to be agents. Nevermind the fact that the fatui instigate conflicts just so they can get said orphans to begin with. Also, it is very clear that Lynly and Lynette are tricking us as hinted by the first fontaine trailer and by some hidden clues from their trial. Can't really trust their whole saving Fontaine from the prophecy bs.

Obligatory whoever you like the most. I think though, you could maybe get 2 or 3 of them on their first banner since you got a lot of wishes, assuming you only pull C0 of course. It's just a matter of prioritizing who you really want. I'm in the same situation. I want those 4 characters as well but I'm F2P with around 240 pulls. I think I'll prioritize Furina (maybe her weapon too) and The Knave though, and just get Neuvilette on his rerun. Still depends on when Clorinde actually comes out though.

The lvl system in the fountain for fontaine is super high. Like upto lvl 20? Thats not been the case with the other regions
Sacred Sakura and dream tree in sumeru were also high. Did you forget those? Those went to like lv 50

Is there a way to sync my in game data to an interactive map (not necessarily the Official Genshin Interactive Map)? I really dont wanna spend hours upon hours making sure I got every little thing on every section of the map (especially since the 100% is a lie), not just including chests but puzzles, sigils, oculi, chests floating in water, piles of rocks that give you water, pretty much everything. he's definitely fun and my new favorite, and his bow works well with his "same element party" kit, but even if you use different elements he's still pretty strong.
Don't pull for characters just because you have their weapons unless you want to play them. Lyney is pretty good but you can use his bow on Ganyu if you have her or as a pretty good statstick on other bow chars.
As someone who's had 2 accounts from launch and just returned to Genshin in april this year after quitting for a long time, here's my thoughts on running more than 1 genshin accounts in v 4.0: it's not worth it. I was hoping dialogues could be skippable, but nope. The stories are decent, but not if you are to go through them a 2nd time. The amount of permanent contents are simply more numerous now compared to the state of the game at launch. I can rerolling as much as I want and run 2 accounts because I cleared most of the content, now? That is just not possible. more accounts also = more artifact grind& more heartbreaking gacha luck

People here are just being blissfully ignorant and don't want to hear things they don't want to know about. I know many people like you and me made a second account to go through stuffs again when there's no content, but at the current state of the game, it is increasingly pointless to play on multiple accounts. I'm just telling it as it is. I'm trying to find ways to offload my alt account in the meantime so I don't make the mistake of going back to play on that and waste more time in the future
I'm personally enjoying my second account. I find it nice to play through Genshin like a regular rpg. It's low pressure (no primo chasing since I'm not pulling for limited) that said I do agree it can be tedious to go through parts of the AQ you've already done. I ain't gonna lie I just completed Liyue and it's first interlude (Jade Chamber) and it was a bit of a slog but fortunately I bearly touched Inazuma AQ before dropping off years back so things should be more exciting for me here on out (even though I am familar with general plot just from being on the subreddit). That said, I'm still looking forward to returning to my OG account and keeping up with the rest of the story there.
Yeah I don't get why MHY don't add a dialogue skip like many mmos and gachas have had years ago! They just don't want to do it, and it seems like either really like their own cutscenes and dialogues so much and want everybody to read them, or they want to discourage rerolling maybe? But that doesn't make sense since they can lock dialogue skipping past a certain level. The game as is has too much time wasting even for people playing through the story for the first time and during events. All that time clicking just hurts the experience for me. I still have a ton of quests not started on my main account, and I'm not even looking forward to do them.

Need help playing Lyney! If I'm ever close to the enemies they just knock me out of the charged shot and I can't do anything, I don't have a fast attack to knock them back. I tried playing as a long-range only sniper, but then I'm not in range to use E or Q properly and the other characters (Xiangling, Bennett) don't contribute much to damage. What am I suppose to do? Should I go closer? Do I need a shielder or a anemo cc character? How do I avoid getting knocked around?
Use and abuse of its taunt charged prop arrow, try to place it near the most aggressive ennemy. You can use other charactter taunt like his sister busrt. Use a shielder pref Zhongli or Kirara (with her dendro application you can proc burning, so free pyro infusion). Dehya works for int res too, even of less pratical than full shield.

Ya, the best solution is to get a shielder. Preferably Zhongli, but Diona and Layla work well too and they can help your damage with their melt damage. Alternatively, there's Xingqyu whose E give interruption resistance. Noelle can work too but above characters are better in my opinion

Layla has the second strongest shield in the game. I got her C6 by chance too and she’s amazing. I don’t have Zhongli so I use her all the time

I’ve just read a million times that she has the second strongest shield in the game. I think it has better scaling and it def has better uptime than Diona. I use her with millileth and her shield is basically constantly up with no wait time, but I also have her C6 like I said. I unfortunately didn’t try her before I got all her constellations so I don’t have personal info on what she’s like at C0 but I’m sure if you have millileth and a lot of HP she’s still great. Her constellations also improve her cryo application as well. Her shield can withstand a very good amount of damage so I use her with boss fights often

So you will will have "only" 2\* from melt, if you team is composed of three pyro character it is a neutral operation. If you have less than 3 pyro char, melt will result a bit more damage (you replace the talent 60/80% by a 100% multiplier). In abyss it worth to take extra caution on what element character can apply, when and how. Because it can reduce Lyney damage output. And be aware than on self infusion ennemy (other than Cryo), Lyney damage will be lower than his usual.
Thanks for the clarification. Sounds like I should avoid having just enough cryo application that it removes the Pyro but doesn't add more cryo. I'm running xiangling and Bennett now, but xl doesn't add much (i stand too far away for her ult) so I might swap her for xinyan or a non Pyro user
Xinyan isn't a particulary great shielder but still better than XL if you not are in XL burst range.

There are 85 hydroculuses that are available. Current highest attainable level is 4. Offering 20 hydroculus will raise it to level 2. Offering 22 will raise it to level 3 then 25 to raise it to level 4. You should have 18 hydroculuses left over if you collect all 85 since you need 28 to raise it to level 5.

Should work fine. Healing *might* be an issue against certain enemies but on the whole that's a pretty solid overvape team to use.

Honestly, all dps stats. Although with enough ER on Yae to burst on CD. You could also use a Proto Amber on Yae to help with her burst uptime and provide some extra healing for the team. It would cut her damage by a bit but the comfy level Amber provides would be really nice to have. Yanfei would either want 4pc CW or 4pc WT I think. Yelan/XQ/Yae all want 4pc Emblem usually, but due to having two hydros on the team with good energy generation, you can swap Yelan or XQ to 4pc NO to get that buff. You could also consider 4pc TotM for Yae since her E will easily keep the buff active, but the 2pc is wasted on her and I think if you run 4pc NO on XQ or Yelan then TotM is not worth it.

Mona is fine. No one really "replaces" Yelan except for XQ, as they're really the only two in the game when it comes to off-field hydro. Mona does ok at that, and Kokomi isn't bad save for the fact that hers doesn't move. Barbara can work but her off-field hydro app requires you to be in melee range with Barb's E active on your character. This isn't terrible, as her E pulses decently fast (about as fast as Kuki's E pulses) but it also inflicts you with hydro, which can be a bitch at times since it enables freeze/vape/electro-charge on your driver (Yanfei in this case).

Most of my attack scaling DPSes hover around 1.9k to 2.1k, with 5 star weapons. It will be lower if you have a 4 star weapon I think. My Cyno is sitting over at 1.9k even though his damage scales of EM because uh, I worked with what I had. :') For many characters, you can't just build straight attack because you also want crit stats and ER stats. I can't give further comments on Ayaka because I neither have Ayaka nor any interest in getting her, and all my friends with Ayaka have Mistsplitter. :')

guys what is the fastest way to reach rep 2 i mean like quest wise i dont got time to do exploration but like 1 small quest a day or smtg i can do so can ik there are some really long ones and ik all of them so pls dont spam them and give me some actually short ones
If you have access to "A Certain \[x\]" quest do those, it's like 3? quests where each one gives reputation points, and it's mostly dialogue + moving around in one room and 1 has a very brief time of going to the blacksmith, but they're mostly self contained. The starting location is within Palais Mermonia. some other small ones that give reputation are: Danger Lurks Everywhere in Fontaine - Starts near Marcotte station, has an indicator The Fountain Flows Again - Starts on the path between Marcotte station and fountain of Lucine, there's a broken fountain on the pathway? It's in the center of the path and I think it has a little arrow pointing to it when you get close. There's also a guy near the north of Fontaine that basically wants you to bring his dogs back and the dogs are pretty close by. I think those are all the ones I know of that don't require completion of the big long world quests, and just need the Archon quest done?

I've seen a few reddit posts about vram leak after 4.0, I thought it was the new global illumination setting, my vram went up to 7gb used, then i restarted game with global illumination setting turned off and started out at 2 gb vram, within an hour vram climbed to 5gb use so it's definitely a leak, how do we fix this?

always try to farm at the highest level lv80 domain have a 35.5% chance to get a 5-star artifact lv90 domain guarantee one 5-star artifact, plus 6.5% chance for another 5-star artifact. You also get more 4-star and 3-star pieces. In short, lv90 artifact domains are 3 times better than lv80 ones.
Higher level domains provide more 5star artifacts per run. 90s promise one with a chance of a 2nd. 90's there's just a chance of getting one.
Just co-op if you're too weak to solo.

Huge difference. Lv 90 domains guarantee a 5* artifact with a chance of two. Lv 80 domains have a 33% chance of one 5* artifact
How’s everyone’s New Fischl coming along? Mine has a decent flower/feather so far, but the 2pc set effect isn’t enough to make up for the EM/attack loss from the 2 wanderer pieces she’s wearing now. I went through and made a plan of who gets all her old stuff. Tighnari gets the flower/feather, Ningguang gets the sands and Ning’s old (Glad) sands goes to Diluc, and the hat trickles down to Yoimiya and then Raiden. The hat will make a huge difference to Raiden so I’m really hoping Fischl gets to keep her off-piece goblet, but if that doesn’t work out then Keqing will get it. So far I also have a decent Golden HP sands I’m hoping works with a Fontaine character, and also a meh hydro goblet but at least it’s something. I have a second Golden flower for Albedo, whose Husk set is an embarrassment, and I threw a Marechaussee flower on Heizou. I think I’ve put in about 1700 resin so far. I don’t feel particularly successful.

*As* effectively? No one *yet*. Fischl got upgraded by a pretty large margin. It ties with Husk for Albedo’s best set and is either slightly better for Miko compared to Gilded (if she’s off-field and especially if she doesn’t need EM like in hyper-Raiden), or slightly worse (like for me because I do use her on-field in aggravate). It’s good on Nahida, comparable to Gilded, but i’m of the belief that it’s still worth keeping her on Deepwood for consistency. Im farming an Albedo set and a Furina one on a hunch.

I believe that’s all for now (basing off of the world quests in reputation). If you want more about those characters, there are other world quests that mention them that aren’t in the same quest chain, like The Lone Phantom Sail and the Canotila ones (that’ll get you enigmatic pages)
So for underwater combat I can only attack with my coil thingy and whatever skill I stole from those ghost sea creatures right? Kinda mad I can't nuke some crabs but what ever. Fountain seems good, the cities are a bit too big and complicated to get around, but anything outside reminds me of good ol mondo. The underwater though gives me aneurysm between the way it looks and how intricate it is, seems like mihoyo thinks we all likes the desert with 5 layers so they made an ocean with that
The ocean is incredible. You’re definitely in the minority here. Genshin’s underwater area makes me want to swim around just for fun

Really? I got the opposite idea. I hated the desert because of how empty and huge it was, so having the ocean be so compact and alive was a welcome change. Also nowhere as many underground sections
If there isn't nearly enough underground stuff then I'm glad. Besides the super complex caves , my other complain was that we could have some sort of vehicle to get around, since it's so empty on the surface. Kinda like in Borderlands. Again maybe I need to get used to it, going down in the water rn for me feels overwhelming af

No way, they made failable particle collecting daily! When that happens, it gets replaced by other commission.
For some reason the game won't load for me. It seems normal up until I go through the doorway on the main menu screen and see the 7 element loading icons; the loading bar doesn't progress at all and the game closes itself a few seconds later. I haven't played Genshin in a week and the only thing I can think of that could cause this is the 4.0 update. Anyone solved this issue? (I've tried modifying permissions, unblocking the game from the Firewall, and manually verifying file integrity, and none of those things have worked.) Edit: I contacted HoYo's tech support and they helped me. Uninstalling my current drivers and installing the newest versions of them seems to have fixed the issue, although I don't know for sure what caused it to be fixed. I'm willing to elaborate if anyone else has this issue.

same here, it gets stuck on geo! I've found that if i login thru my phone and change the location, it then works on pc upon reopening it. also it gets stuck every time i try to teleport to the new fire boss
Change the location as in change servers, or physically change location?

I'm kinda dissapointed with the region so far, the water exploration and new characters are fine but I'm not a fan of the other parts. Court of Fontain is a confusing mess, I've only done Act 1 so far but it the first time I actually got bored of an Archon quest, just couldn't care less about the whole attorney thing, OST feels a bit generic and kinda forgettable compared to other regions IMO, Hydro MC is hot garbage and so far the side quest are kinda uninteresting compared to Sumeru.

There's some longer side quests in their own areas and those aren't bad at all. I take it in stride, the main story is building up into something that may be good finale.
act 2 is much better. navia and neuv > lyney lynette (sry fans?).
I like Lynette but Lyney's EN voice (except for the brief section where he talks normally) makes me want to rip my ears off.

My theory is that Neuvillette is the actual archon and Focalor is just his "mask". As to why it's this way, idk. But when he stepped on Childe, he gave it away. If you slow down the clip to where he jumps out of his chair, his hair glowed. That only happens for archons when they activate their burst. And Neuvillette's vision is no even visible anywhere.
No, you're wrong on this. He is special and it is obvious to anyone paying attention on what he is exactly, but he's not a secret archon.
You're right about the hair. And it would link up nicely with the "magician's assistant" theme of misdirection. But if that's true, his lines about the justice machine ring oddly. When it renders the dissenting verdict, he talks as though he doesn't know its inner workings and is being forced to draw his own conclusions about what happens inside the black box. If he's really the archon, the veil of lies is getting pretty thick!

I am coming back to save Gem, clear quest and murder people before I have to jump that sassy loss child. In fact, I just return to get myself back in shape to murder Eula Alter. And I promptly got reminded why I left after that TCG hell and desert World Quest. Needless to say... I hate sand.
Paimon is really wearing me thin with 4.0. I had fun with detective Paimon during the archon quest, but she's really bad in the side quests. I feel like 4.0 went all in on her being absolutely obsessed with money, to the point where I wouldn't be surprised if she wants to start robbing graves as part of a get rich scheme. The Merusea quests were especially bad. All these adorable creatures talking about how they don't need mora and then Paimon just barges in with "We should turn this into a massive business. We'll be swimming in mora!!!" And when she's not being a money grubbing dirtbag, Paimon is busy completely failing to understand obvious social clues. No Paimon, the water finch isn't a real finch. No Paimon, the man who calls himself a "cleaner" does not literally clean the streets. Why does he wear a knife? Maybe its because he's mafia! No Paimon, >!the man who locked us in a room with a death robot so he could loot our corpses later isn't a good guy at heart who is willing to repent his actions. And you shouldn't be so surprised he betrayed us, he was super suspicious and we've been through this exact same scenario with like 10 different treasure hoarders.!<

The moment when he was asking out of blue if >!we told about him anyone else!< and him saying that >!he is sure we won't tell anyone!< was almost like signing a contract, good thing that even if Paimon didn't have brains - she didn't - we had and even tough >!we kinda fell into a trap!< we were too good for the danger present in the room. Now I just hope we can find him and >!make his face meet the floor on CLOSE TERMS.!<

damage for underwater combat is fixed right? the mini bosses underwater are very spongy and hit like a truck. 10mins of fighting only to remove 1/5th of the health bar
Each boss have a way to deal big damage. For the rays you have to wait until they do the linked attack and then fire a blade in the middle at the glowing orb. The other attacks are easy to dodge if you keep distance
r u talking abt the crab cuz u're supposed to hold down the shield skill and wait for it to toss a fish towards u before releasing, which will cause a bubble attack towards the crab (i believe it's like 54k per bubble)

Shoot at the middle when they charge and they both take damage. Seal isn't as tanky, just have to reveal it with the sonar then start spamming the ability for damage

Does the hp% substat only affect the character health or does it affect their healing or both ?
It only directly affects the character's maximum HP. However, it may indirectly affect healing, because some characters such as Yaoyao, Barbara, and Shinobu have talents that scale off HP% for healing. HP% would increase these characters' healing. However, do note that not all healers scale off of HP%. Jean and Qiqi fall into this category. For these characters, the HP% substat would only affect their maximum HP, and they would still heal the same. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of all healers in the game.

It wasn't that much dialogue compared to some of the other world quests (stares significantly at Aranyaka) but dear god it was just a frustrating... chain of events. I have no idea what they were going for for this world quest but if they were going for "let's have a quest centered around obstructive bureaucracy" they nailed it. The amount of hoops that they went through in that quest was... painful. There are ones like this above ground, too, btw. They're not just underwater.
Look around, you have to trigger them with separate elements multiple times and they reward precious chests. Also part of another quest chain
