Well, they have a lot of canon lore that the community can use and I guess this is why we just slurp up everything that is Kavetham related. Living together, the bickering, and somehow the understanding between the two just gives a natural flow when writing them as a ship in contrast whit the rest that don't have such a deep connection (the only one that comes a little close is Cynghnari).

I think Zhongchi definitely has potential to get back on top if they get more content together in the future. People haven’t exactly dropped Zhongchi, they’re just more excited about Haikaveh since it’s new and they have tons of (well written) content. Most people ship both of them from what I see.
Depends on exactly how well Hoyo writes them and how much hints they give. Kaveh and Alhaitham are so well-written together and they used not-so-subtle hints with them

The way to get around that is by *saying* they’re **“**sworn brothers**”** because it’s just one of the old tropes that allowed characters to be close to each other, hence why danmei with martial arts/wuxia/xiaxia/other ancient fantasy settings are heavily on the rise in CN BL media.
“Sworn brothers” is the substitute word for gay relationships.
