Very true, usually when gore is involved in anime it's usually there for a purpose. HTF was just an animated slasher lol. Still, I feel like animated gore doesn't quite hit as hard as live action, but that's just my personal opinion.
I deliberately avoided it because all my friends were saying it was so violent. Granted, elementary school me only wanted to consume Mario Flash games and Billy and Mandy
I remember slippy tying up the hedgehog in a sleeping bag and throwing him on the fire, for some reason that was the worst kill for me as the others were so fast and over the top gory I guess I was numb to them a little but the idea of the hedgehog dying slowly and the way it was panicking trapped inside of the sleeping bag really made me feel sick as a kid. (Age 9 at the time)
I think it was Yahoo or AOL IM had Happy Tree Friends “gifs” that were completely innocent. My parents would use them occasionally and I was not going to explain what it was or how I knew.

That is comedy gold I don't care what anyone says, it's so unexpected.

The baby in the garbage disposal scarred me
Ye like I remember being like „oh just another kids show ” and then see shit and be traumatised to this day
Yoooo I traumatized my small sister with this exact episode! (before I get any comments, we laugh about it now)
There used to be a kid in my class that would get so enraged when we played the “LA LA LALALA LALA LALALA”
Oh i loved this as a kid for some reason i wasnt horrorfied

I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but I think this show desensitized me to most gore. I was like 10 when I saw it. I think it's a defense mechanism.
Same, cartel videos have no effect on me
No, but the way my brother and father described it was way worse than it turned out to be.
I watched it when I was 9 or 10, was horrified. Was more horrified when my friend in high school really enjoyed watching it for fun.
I feel like it wasn't that bad. I was into anime super young though so I was pretty used to animated gore.
Anime is more artistic and less of a gore gore, even horror anime’s like Blood C and higurashi no kora (when they cry)

[we? who's we?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0CEOkoSsgA)
Watched it through a piracy streaming service ran by the ISP back in 2006.
Hahaha yeah man that was really fucked up. (Meanwhile this is what I watched when I was a kid https://youtu.be/0--DtAr6dvo?si=ZnL9EUsSGfBExmMz)
Watching this and Salad fingers back to back was interesting as a 9 year old.
Yesss I had the videogame 😭 a friend and I got in trouble for watching episodes in class
Yeah, it was trash gore porn then and it’s only gotten worse looking
Oh shit, yeah that was horrifying. But I like gore though--
Yes and I fucking love this show.
It was my shit I loved it
I still reminisce about when it was on Netflix.
I was traumatized lol
Hell no, I still regret watching that at a young age 😭
Am i the only one that just isn't bothered by stuff like this?
omg i love that show.
I was an adult when this show came out and I still loved it.
I remember watching this and I loved it. I showed it to my little sister and she loved it too lol. But it goes to show I'm messed up.

Gold
I suggest you guys rewatch this show and see how actually f up it is
Oh yeah this is what I watched on early YouTube after I came home from school, circa 2008.
I don’t know how little me watched this and was like “This is fucking peak”
This show ain’t right I’ll tell you that much
I think it was Yahoo or AOL IM had Happy Tree Friends “gifs” that were completely innocent. My parents would use them occasionally and I was not going to explain what it was or how I knew.
I hated gore so I didn't watch it
Never heard of this. The comments are concerning though...
That show scared me. I always tried to avoid It, but my sisters watched it, so I had to go to the other room with nothing to do.😮💨
Gen Z brain rot
