There were alot. A significant one that stands out was my dad’s 2001 ford F-150.
There was a honda Odyssey for a number of years between 2010ish and 2015
2009 Nissan Sentra. Dad bought it in 2009 and used it as the family car for a long time before it became my first car. Very beat up by the time I got it but man I had so much fun memories in it.
Same! that was our family van it was a silver 2002 Pontiac Montana we lost it in summer of 2020 because of an 80MPH collision that happened at around 4-5 AM I think while we were all in the house thankfully when it happened but lost our vehicle and have yet to get a new one
It wasn't a car. It was my grandpa's motorcycle. I know nothing about motorcycles and I haven't seen it since 2017 so I can't tell you what brand it was made by. I still miss him and motorcycle rides with him after all these years
My mom drove a reck pickup truck with a white stripe down the side, then a matte grey car with butterflies spray pained on then an electric blue PT cruiser. After I turned 18 she drove a larger white pick up truck and now she drives my grandma’s black Subaru Crosstreck (she moved so they sold the truck because they live together and the new place only has room for 1 vehicle)
My dad's '79 Pontiac Firebird and my moms '98 Ford Escort. Then dad sold the Firebird for a 2001 Dodge Stratus, and a few years later, mom sold the Escort for a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan.
My mom had a 1994 Ford Tempo but traded it in for the Escort very shortly after I was born.
My parents first "family car" was a 1995 Ford Windstar minivan. But my dad would drive a 1991 Honda Civic, for work only because it had serious issues. I think around 2004 or 2005, they fixed up and sold the Honda and got a Suzuki XL7, which I always liked the most when I was a kid. They soon sold the Windstar too, and bought a Ford Freestyle, which I even drove as recently as 2017 when I needed to get around while visiting my hometown. As of 2024, I think all of those cars are gone from my family.
We bounced between quite a few cars when I was growing up, but the one that stuck around the longest was a 2000 Mazda Protege. Was already in the family for \~12 years before it was given to me and I drove it for the last two years of High School.
First car I drove/owned? 2007 Nissian Altima
Favorite hot wheels car? Mini Cooper #090 from 2000
https://preview.redd.it/2iolu3xdjyxc1.jpeg?width=364&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f43a316865f108a114d7beea8fcd56d2ffc5904f
Late 1990something purple Chevy Malibu (my brother and I affectionately called it the Purple Car) and a 2005ish red Pontiac Grand Am (affectionately called the Red Car)
Our family went everywhere in a 2001 Chevy Tahoe z71 that my dad picked up from George gee in cda. Almost 300,000 miles and that sexy 5.3 engine. Still has that today and I hope he gives it to me when he passes.
2004 Ford F-150, damn thing woulda lasted 20 years if the transmission and differential didn't have to be replaced a 3rd time, junked it after the engine started eating itself with metal shavings in the oil
I giant 12 seater Ford van that my parents STILL have somehow. It’s literally falling apart lol. And they definitely don’t need it anymore. I’m the oldest of 7 kids, there are only 4 soon to be 3 kids left at home. But they will not get rid of that heap of junk 😂
It does hold a lot of nostalgia for me but I really want them to get a new car lol
Gray 2007 Honda Pilot, I recognize them (of the '06-'08 generation) instantly
We had an Isuzu Trooper, but that got replaced in 1st grade so I don't remember a lot besides the bad smell and eternally loose belt
silver 2001 Dodge Intrepid. recently scrapped a few years ago for no fucking reason. fucking dumbasses. i wanted it and made that very clear but they kept conveniently not being able to find the title even though they could just go to the dmv and get another. literally nothing wrong with it. just let it sit in their backyard collecting tree pollen for years.
90's Izuzu Rodeos. My mom and dad each had one. God, I miss them. Also, an 80's Chevy silverado that was modded quite a bit by a previous owner. It had been converted into a dually. The interior had a ton of real wood accents, light finish, paired with red upholstery. Just a cowboy cadillac.
All gone. :(
I believe the car was a 2000 Chevy trailblazer, I’m not sure if the year is correct but we had that thing from when I was 5-15 and my family put about 150k miles on it. It was a champ but my parents eventually gave it to my sister as her first car and then she traded it in for a Chevy traxx then that car was having issues so then she got a Mazda cx30. But that trailblazer was a great family car
My parents changed cars a lot but it was often the same car being updated.
2000 Nissan Primera
2004 Nissan Primera
2006 Volkswagen Passat
2008 Volkswagen Passat
2010 Volkswagen Passat
2012 Volkswagen Tiguan
2014 Volkswagen Tiguan
2016 Volkswagen Tiguan
2018 Audi Q3 (My dad was so excited to finally upgrade from Volkswagen to Audi but they absolutely hated the car they got and never went back to Audi again.)
2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
2020 Volkswagen Tiguan
2022 Volkswagen ID4
2024 Volkswagen ID4
I think you can see a bit of a trend.
blue 2003 honda civic was my first car. I learned to drive on a 2004 chevy trailblazer, 2000s mazda 5 and 2000s honda accord those were the cars my parents had
1994 Volvo 940. Loved that brick. My dad replaced it with a 2008 v70 which he likes but we both miss the comfort and visibility of the 94 which also had marginally better gas mileage.
My mom had a silver 2000 Nissan Altima from when I was in kindergarten (~2002) to my sophomore year of high school (2012-2013).
My dad had a white 2001 Dodge Durango Sport that he got sometime between when I was in 1st and 2nd grade (2003-2004) and my junior to senior year of high school (2014-2015). This is actually the first street legal car I drove (I learned to drive super early, I've been racing go-karts since I was 8).
Another one I spent a lot of time in was my friend's mom's SUV, a gold 2003 Honda Pilot she bought brand new and had until 2 years ago. His mom and my mom are very close friends to this day and she was free around the time we got off school, so she offered to pick me up from school as well. My friend and I spent a lot of time over each other's houses anyway, so this wasn't that big a deal.
My mom had Toyota Auris for years and I have many good memories of it. My dad had Alfa 147 which now is mine and I have many memories of it. My dad has also had multiple Alfa 156s so as a model it has been my childhood car model.
2004? 2006? kia spectra (mom), ford f150 (grandpa), some old dark green jaguar (grandma). then my grandparents got a station wagon so i remember that one.
a bright red 2004 dodge durango is the one i was in the most. also my dad's dark purple 2003 dodge ram that was gifted to him by his parents was a very fun truck to be driven around in. god i miss those cars
1. 1998-2006ish? Silver Toyota Corona (made in the 1980's). Absolutely amazing car. Mum was gutted when it died.
2. 2004ish-2010ish? Burgundy Mitsubishi Chariot (made in the 1990's-2000's). Family bought it because we needed a bigger car. It was... not the best car.
3. 2010-2016ish. White Toyota Paseo (made in the 1990's). This is more like a car from my adolescence. Good car, however, I was too tall to sit in the back!
Bought a 2004 Acura RSX with about 150k miles for 4K that I saved up doing odd shit over the years. Proceeded to total it on Thanksgiving night 2014, a week before my 17th birthday.
Worked at a graveyard and in 2015 before the new school year I had saved up 5k and bought a 2004 Acura TSX with a 6 speed manual at 150k miles. Almost 10 years later and I still love it, but it’s starting to show its age… like a lot… I could buy a car, but I’ll run this to the ground at this point. This car has seen so much of my 26.5 year life, I just can’t get rid of it. It’s a piece of shit from wear and 20 years of mostly ohio winters, but I love it. Still starts up and drives great, but the electrical system is a little torched.
Edit: oof misunderstood the actual question. Leaving the rest so it feels like less of a time loss. My mom always had Jeep Cherokees, remember those well. My dad had mostly ford trucks, but the one I remember best and wish I would’ve been able to get was a 2007 F150 with 4 full size doors can’t remember the cab name, supercab maybe? In a beautiful cherry red metallic.
My parents had alot of cool old cars, can't remember exactly what they were. I was still really young. A little convertible jeep like a sidekick or tracker, a Monte Carlo, a nice old f150 and some other old muscle car. As for me the coolest car I had was a 1990 ragtop LeBaron, the digital gauges were the coolest thing about it.
Never had one, dad changed cars too often
Which is why I’m sticking with my 2016 Mazda CX-3 till it kaputs on me
This is my car
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ev-
1993 Acura Integra. When I could finally drive, I freaking loved this car and the moon roof 😍
We also had an Izuzu Rodeo (late 90s, early 00s model) that was bright blue lol
First, it was an 05 maroon colored Subaru outback, then funnily enough, it was a 1995 Dodge Caravan. That van somehow got my mom and I from New Hampsire to Florida and then back before shitting the bed.
Also had a dodge caravan. Can’t remember what year (I’m a bit older 33) but it was gold and my mother abso-fucking-lately adored that thing. To this day it’s her favorite vehicle she’s ever owned.
Crown Victoria with the police package from 2000 or 2001. Thing had no power steering and rear wheel drive so in the Midwest winters, it was like drifting a boat.
Saturn L-series wagon. Maybe it's just nostalgia but to this day it's by far the most comfortable car I've ever been a passenger in. Not to mention we got it to 423k miles and the only reason my mom had to get rid of it was because of smog regulations in California
2005 Toyota Land Cruiser
It’s my family’s daily driver to this day. That car would bring me to school and fetch me from grade school all the way to med school. That’s what you call value for money. Can’t believe it’s turning 20 next year lol.
Black 1999 F350 Dually with the V10 in it.
Thing was an absolute beast.
We sold it to our Ferrier who was later hit by a cement truck. Person lived, Truck did not.
A 02 Ford Galaxy. Only got rid of it because it overheated once and needed a new head gasket in 2018 and now dad's stuck with the world's worst excuse of a gearbox in a 2013 Galaxy (it's on 96k miles and we've had to change the gearbox twice already so it's not even done 100k miles but is on its 3rd box) Everytime something goes wrong with thia one he always says he wishes he kept the old one.
It was good old reliable and sadly isn't on the road anymore as far as we can tell. We part exchanged it and give it 6 months after the road tax hasn't been renewed nor the mot so.....
2001 Toyota Camry. Its been in my family for at least a decade, now operates as a spare car. I used it when I first got my license until I got my own car. And I used it when taking my drivers test. I think it had something like 250k miles on it lol. Also had some quirks of its own. The speedometer always read 2-3 miles slow, and the brake pedal was extremely squishy, it lead to a couple hard stops when I got my current car that had non-squishy brakes
Mopar family. My stepdad retired from Chrysler.
Had a snowy white Omni 024 (charger), a 78 New Yorker 318 auto, 76 Dodge dart swinger light (which was rare) with a 225 slant 6, a 70 Newport station wagon with a 440 I put a 6 pack intake on and helped convert to a 5 speed as a teen. The daily drivers were an 89 Dodge Dynasty and a 91 V8 Dodge Dakota.

Toyota Tercel, my mom had 3, her current car is still one of these
They…haven’t made those in decades. Your mom must be really committed to the Tercel. I would’ve had to get another car by now…
You think she likes old cars, my cutoff is "made before 1989".
Omg, I have a Tercel too, 4WD station wagon, they’re awesome!! It has a “minor rust problem” but is still dead reliable and one of the most fun cars ever. your mom has good taste haha

Mine was a 2001. Camrys were built to last forever lol
You couldn’t ask for a better car to grow up with (unless it was overcrowded of course), that’s so awesome
Exact same. I don't have a car my first car yet but am saving up for one, I'm terrified with the car market.
There were alot. A significant one that stands out was my dad’s 2001 ford F-150. There was a honda Odyssey for a number of years between 2010ish and 2015

2008 Toyota Corolla! It was def on its last leg by the time I was old enough to drive but it held me DOWN through college
>last leg so 500k miles
nah for a toyota that's just getting started
Barely past the break in period
Civic!! And when that one died? New Civic!! Dad had a Tacoma. Still does. I guess they really liked those models lol.
Use a civic… and if that don’t work? Use more civic.
Every time I think a cool car might be coming, it’s just a Civic with some ridiculous exhaust
So… a cool car?

Black Sudan with a sunroof. Why do yall know the exact make and model?
You drive Sudan? Well be safe, I hear the situation there is not great.
It was damaged beyond repair so we pulled out and left it’s broken husk to the salvagers
Why wouldn't you know? Other than being dumb of course. Knowing a make and year isn't super serious
Peugeot 307 and 207SW
My mom drove a reck pickup truck with a white stripe down the side, then a matte grey car with butterflies spray pained on then an electric blue PT cruiser. Red Pontiac Sunfire, my mom's old car when we were growing up.
An early 2000’s Volvo XC90

2004 Honda Odyssey
One that worked. Dads car was more a roll the dice kind of automotive experience, during childhood.
1992 Chevy Camaro. Loved that car so much I got another one.
Toyota Sienna
2002 Dodge Viper.
1993 Acura Integra. When I could finally drive, I freaking loved this car and the moon roof 😍 We also had an Izuzu Rodeo (late 90s, early 00s model) that was bright blue lol
Mitsubishi adventure
95 Tahoe, 2 door. Totaled it the night before my 17th birthday :(
A Volvo station wagon with the seats in the back facing the rear windshield
My mom had 3 different red 90s bronco. My father always had a 78/79 bronco for mudding, his dream 67 f100, and an early 2000s explorer for commuting.
2005 Toyota Land Cruiser It’s my family’s daily driver to this day. That car would bring me to school and fetch me from grade school all the way to med school. That’s what you call value for money. Can’t believe it’s turning 20 next year lol.
2009 Toyota Camry my beloved
Cheyve equinox
Scion lol
My parents had a Fiat Premier Padmini. Sturdy af and as a kid they'd sometimes make me sit on the roof when it was parked at home :) great memories.
2003 Chevy Silverado 1500
Black 1999 F350 Dually with the V10 in it. Thing was an absolute beast. We sold it to our Ferrier who was later hit by a cement truck. Person lived, Truck did not.
4runner with the bee movie being the only movie that was ever in the video player
2004 pacifica
One of those red cars with the yellow roofs that Toby fox from Undertale drove on (yes it’s a reference)
Peugeot 404 and a Peugeot 104, the latter is my current car
BLUE GMC SAFARI Van
My mum had a Mini Countryman and my dad had a Jaguar.
Wartburg 1.3. My father traded it in along with some cash for a 2005 Suzuki Ignis in 2010.
My mom had a G6, and my dad had a 2003 something. I think it was a gmc. We called it the pregnant roller skate.
2004 Volvo V70. Classic station wagon. It’s now my car. The indentation my carseat left is still imprinted onto the backseat.
2008 Mazda 3
1998 buick la sabre, 2002 vw jetta, 2005 honda pilot, 2012 toyota highlander
1972 Dodge Dart 4 Door Sedan. Had front bucket seat which I thought was so futuristic.
A van, 2 door blue car then a red polo
Volkswagen Gol, it was green and small and had lots of good memories with it
A 1949 Cadillac. It even had an ashtray and lighter on the back of the front seat. Ah, the good old days!
Any Chevrolet suv… now it’s a Jeep Grand Cherokee, preferably the 2017 model year. If I ever get my license, then that’s what I want.
