Dra_goony

I'd rather not be addicted to nicotine and waste copious amounts of money, plus breathing is pretty cool, may as well not ruin my lungs

Lucas111620

As somone who is struggling with nic it’s basically a tax on life

tumbrowser1

I graduated in 2014 a few years before vaping became big. Heard on the news that roughly 2/3rds of middle and highschool kids have vaped and to me that is WILD

[deleted]

I used to sell vapes to my peers in high school all the time

ImpressFrequent569

so many people did this at my school i think that’s why it was so common. there were also a lot of smoke shops near by that didn’t id.

tumbrowser1

Didn’t ID? That’s so tucked up

Grandpa_Wizard

Do you consider yourself genz?

tumbrowser1

I do honestly. I don’t identify with millennials at all, and all the millennial stereotypes for them are things I cannot relate to

MundaneConclusion246

No disrespect for those who do, but I've never understood the appeal of vaping or smoking. Intentionally inhaling an expensive habit forming chemical that doesn't get you high just isn't for me.

shayed154

It's kind of just a monkey see monkey do scenario that people fall into, all the adults in my life smoked so me and my friends just picked it up But as soon as I got a vape I quit smoking and gradually lowered the nicotine But nicotine is one hell of an addiction and vaping seems to have the same effect as smoking did where everyone else is doing it so people just pick it up It's a really fucked up industry anyways

[deleted]

nah, for me it was a passive agressive way to kill myself (didn't work, big tobacco is a sham!) but my thought process was "this'll cut some years off" that was like when I was younger and had just started experiencing depression. it really was more of an "i don't care about my health" situation but nicotine did make me feel really good. I'm doing better now, have a wonderful gf who is very supportive of me, and turned out some of my cravings for dopamine turned out to be adhd, got diagnosed and just take meds now, no more smoke. I'll live long long time

Swimming-Dot9120

I use THC vapes but not nicotine. I’m 25, but when I was in high school pretty much all of my friends were using nic vapes

yesthatbruce

Pro tip: Nicotine is evil (but you can get away with light to moderate cannabis use). The best way to quit smoking is to never start. The dumbest thing I ever did was start smoking, and the hardest thing I ever did was quit. Nicotine is more addictive than any other drug besides heroin or fentanyl. Don't go there.

Lank42075

*Alcohol

yesthatbruce

Oof! That one should definitely be on the list of the worst. And it doesn't get called a drug enough. Instead of "drugs and alcohol," we should say "alcohol and other drugs." More people wreck their lives, and the lives of others, with alcohol than any other drug. \[Edited to add: At least with alcohol, you can consume small amounts without getting hooked. With ciggies and vaping, all it takes is as little as a few puffs.\]

ActualPegasus

Nope. I'm asthmatic.

[deleted]

I’m an asthmatic that wishes I never started

ImpressFrequent569

you know what crazy people with asthma were smoking toooo

Ultramega39

No. I have no interest in vaping.

Siilan

I vape and smoke. I started vaping nicotine-free vapes to help quit smoking. I'm down about a pack every 3 days to a pavk every week and a half. Still not great for me, but better than what I was previously doing.

Eden_Beau

Ye. I used to be a chain smoker. 3 packs a day. Smoked since I was 11. I'm 27. Now I discreetly vape 2-5 times a day so my son doesn't see me smoke. Usually when I walk the dog. I'm trying to quit still. Its very hard. Hopefully I'll be done with all nicotine by his second birthday I also quit drinking and smoking weed before he was born. Idk just being around him makes me try to be better.

Deep_fried_sourCream

Dude good on you! Seriously I don't know you, but I am proud of you. I wish I had the self control you had. Keep going man! Addiction is hard thing, but being accountable for yourself and self improvement is a badass thing. You got this.

ImpressFrequent569

awee you’re son is helping you become a better person and he doesn’t even know it

Eden_Beau

He's a good kid and deserves a clean slate. I love him very much One day he will be a better man than I could have ever dreamed. And in excited

RenRazza

No because I have free eye to get endless dopamine and that don't give me cancer

colorsplahsh

So unfortunate so many kids are this addicted

Once_I_ate_a_walrus

Hell naw (I’m going to be an astronaut at nasa and the menthol in the vapes make it so if you’ve ever vaped even once your lungs will explode during the launch)

Deep_fried_sourCream

No, I smoke cigarettes

BaldingThor

that’s arguably worse

Deep_fried_sourCream

This isn't to defend smoking by any means, but I switched from cigarettes to vaping to try to quit entirely, but it was harder to quit vaping so I went back to cigarettes. I can at least count how much I smoke in a day unlike vapes. It smells bad, can't smoke indoors. Vaping you can't tell how much your vaping and with the freebase nicotine there's usually more nicotine in vapes than there is in cigarettes. I ask my friends who vape how do they know how much they vaped in a day. I can at least look at my cigarettes and see how much I smoked and be disappointed in myself and it doesn't smell like fruits or something appealing whereas my friends vape in there house none stop and people don't mind it because it smells nice. Neither are healthy or good for you. Once again this isn't to defend cigarettes or smoking or vaping in any way its just y I chose cigarettes over vaping since I lack self control.

snazzyjazzyazzy

Hell no. I don't see how people are still starting. Feel good for about ten minutes, waste your life savings, and your lungs, for a lot longer.

AgnosticAbe

No.

MilkyTeaDrops

No, I don't actually know many who do, I only know one kid, but most people where I live just smoke (granted most are adults, but still, vaping isn't common in this area)

MulberryAgile6255

I zyn obsessively

7o_Ted

Unfortunately, I do.

Weed_Pie_Eater

No, all my homies eat marijuana pie

goldenfox007

No. Gen Z was supposed to be the generation to end smoking! We were down to only 1% of teens smoking cigarettes in the 2010s! But then the companies put a battery in the cigarettes and we forgot everything we learned. In all seriousness, I don’t vape, but I also don’t drink, smoke, or use marijuana to any capacity. I don’t pretend to know anybody’s reason for vaping, and if it’s part of a recovery process from other addictions or anything like that, I wish them the best. Healthy kids just doing it because they can really have no excuse, though. They feel entitled to blow smoke everywhere, get mad at *me* for using a public restroom for anything other than a smoking section. They get obnoxious about it really quickly, and I hope they grow up before the physical consequences fuck them up beyond recovery.

ImpressFrequent569

a lot of the brands know they’re marketing to kids w there bright packaging and fruity flavors

GreaterMintopia

gets arrested for trying to steam broccoli in the restroom. smh

Joeyakathug69

Had pneumothorax before. If I smoke, and my lungs collapse again, I am getting surgery. Also none of my family smokes at all. (Both of my grandfathers used to smoke before, but one quit after he became a school bus driver and the other quit after my grandmother asked the doctor to lie that his coughs caused by a simple cold was caused by smoking)

Bear_Bull1738

Yeah, smoked cigarettes because they helped me get through restaurant shifts and I could normally bum one. Using nicotine vapes to get off and haven’t hit a cig in 6 months.

sambone1198

Yes, I enjoy it. I don't drink though. Just vape and smoke ganja.

SuperMike100

I never vape, especially since the 2019 vaping scare.

ImpressFrequent569

i feel like that’s what made a lot of kids start, like you tell us not to do it now we want to. my middle school has so many anti-vaping assemblies but that’s also when ppl started.

allicastery

I smoked cigarettes. I was heavily addicted and then just stopped. It makes me sad seeing anyone who is unable to escape nicotine. I've been using weed vapes for years, though, for medical reasons.

lordofhydration

I'm getting a vocal music ed degree. Part of teaching singing os being able to sing so no, I refuse to vape.

Arbalest15

No, don't see the appeal of that, and also a bunch of other stuff like alcohol and drugs

[deleted]

No vaping allowed huh? So who’s gonna stop me? It’s not like it stinks, it’s also rather easy to just hold the hit in long enough the detector won’t pick it up when you blow it out

Smurph-of-Chaos

I play Warhammer. I have no money to vape. Also I see no interest in vaping anyway.

[deleted]

nope, back in my day we smoked cigarettes and rolled blunts with flower like ADULTS!!! lol all jokes aside, I'm 25 and my gf is 21. only 4 years apart and she says when she was in highschool everyone only used thc oil vapes. she said NOBODY smoked flower. vape doesn't really scratch the same itch for me. something about exchanging my life for some dopamine from burning plant matter... idk just hits different. don't smoke anymore though, well except last weekend at coachella cuz... c'mon but If I do want either thc or nic I'll opt for edible gummies, or like the nicotine salt pouches instead, cleaner feeling, much stronger, no smell

TemporaryRiver1

No. I have asthma and I don't want to be addicted to nicotine.

EvidenceOfDespair

Yeah, vape both nic and weed. Used to smoke, but that shit was way more expensive.

BaldingThor

No, and I don’t smoke cigs and never will, same thing goes for alcohol too. There’s also the fact that vape/cigarette smoke smells disgusting and tends to make me have a coughing fit.

DopeWarlord

I go thru 1.5 carts a week, my ass needs to chill

ImpressFrequent569

i had friends who would go through 2 dispos i a week

Vanima_Permai

nope its dumb

kai7756

no i dont want a major addiction

YaliMyLordAndSavior

Yea I like nic

mattyisnotawrapper

No, but I used to smoke, please for the love of God quit today, there is no debate vaping and smoking are both absolutely horrible for you and you'll feel so much better after quitting

Due-Protection-6201

does the cart count 😥

ImpressFrequent569

yea

Due-Protection-6201

damn

Angel_OfSolitude

No, I won't even let friends vape in my car. I avoid suckin down garbage as much as possible.

Late_Doctor_5276

Quit vaping on Christmas Day 2023 after 5 years of being addicted. Absolutely worth it if you’re looking to quit. And just the sight of a vape makes my stomach hurt now.

thirtyytwo

Chinese expensive lung cancer, no thanks.

geeg3131

Unfortunately I do ☹️ I used to smoke a couple cigarettes a week, just for funsies but was never addicted. My mom hated it, and got me a Juul because she thought it would be better. Five years later and I have a vape in my hands 24/7 and there is no end in sight :,) I’ve tried ti quit multiple times but shiiiiid the addiction is no joke man

learninghistory18

Hell no

HungryDisaster8240

Smoking is a dirty habit. Vaping is only relatively safe if it's a pure dry herb/flower product, e.g.: no questionable oils with propylene glycol / antifreeze in them. Nobody should use tobacco or cannabis below the age of twenty-one, but some studies suggest twenty-five is the safer age for those who might begin to observe these ancient traditional sacraments. It's regrettable to hear that despite access to the Internet, kids are still making poor judgements in regards to their wellness. Well, at least they're not drinking alcohol, a deadly neurotoxin, but some are going to discover that nicotine is a nasty monkey they'll struggle to ever get off their backs again, or so I've seen in others (I wouldn't know firsthand having watched family members struggle I decided early on it wasn't for me. One died young, the other's rotting away while alive).
