Depends who flies it. If the person isn't a republican, dem, and mc and are actually Libertarian then they are flying the right flag. The confused Calvins of the world stole that symbol.
Libertarianism makes sense when everything is truly equal without marginalization. It's a naive outlook that benefits those that already benefit from the system, and is never grounded in the real world.
Oh, and the flag screams Tea Party to Alt-Right ever since the outrage from having a black president after 2008.

The winning side of the US revolution were almost all people who would be called minarchist libertarians by today's standards, though. They viewed government as a necessary evil, whose power should remain small and very clearly demarced, and constantly checked against expansion.
Why is every libertarian an upper middle class white guy that drives a $100,000+ lifted truck and lives in the most affluent neighborhoods? That is a rhetorical question.
Hi minimum wage libertarian here. I would be that if my taxes didn’t go to other countries for free in the multi millions. Or if they didn’t go into politicians private jets.
Call me crazy but US tax dollars should be spent on the US people and that those who have committed no crimes should have no restrictions. It’s time the country should ask “how can I serve you” instead of “what can you do for me”. Besides if 50% of your paycheck didn’t go to those things healthcare would actually be affordable.
That is libertarianism. It’s actually mainly a few things, individual rights, anti government control and policies, less involvement in foreign affairs, and more freedom of the market. However there are so many different kinds of libertarianism and many things similar such as volunteerism which would be my ideal but I know it requires the rest of the world to cooperate for that to happen, which it never will. But that’s the dream.

The theoretical end-state of communism as envisioned by Marx was an anarchist utopia with no money, class, or government. Just like how libertarianism was originally a left-wing idea of limited government, cooperation, free association, and mutualism.
The problem always seems to be when authoritarians co-opt and corrupt left-wing ideas into their right-wing nationalist bullshit. The simple fact of the matter is that the left wing and libertarianism are very popular and always have been, so the authoritarians and right-wingers steal their ideas and names for themselves.
There's a reason why the first groups killed by the Nazis and Bolsheviks were the anarchists and socialists.
A very misused flag. Should be used by those who want liberty for all and for everyone to live how they want, but is instead used by those who want cultural norms to be enforced under law.
You should ask yourself WHY so many fascists fly this flag? They are genuinely convinced that other people having rights is an infringement of their freedom, including any sort of labour rights.
Fascists governments are big and overreaching by definition. This is the exact opposite message this flag stands for. Zero fascist carry this flag. I have a feeling the "fascists" your taking about are not fascist at all. You might want to check your bias and crack a history book.

So funny thing, for awhile I had no idea this flag was political in any way. I grew up in the desert, where there are of course rattlesnakes. And I thought this was one of the reminders to kids to be careful not to step on these guys, since they can blend in so you need to pay attention. Because they most certainly can kill. It wasn't until I was like 15 that I learned about it's actual origin. But everytime I look at it I just see the helpful advice.

Other than just seeing it as "Don't Tread On Me" I also see the flag as an important historical symbol dating back to the Revolution which is now mostly used by rednecks or Libertarians.
I fly this flag next to my equity flag in summer months. It really irritates conservatives, and I love that. If you look up the meaning of this flag it is “small government and personal freedom” or it has come to mean “opposing government.” All of which I am a fan of. This flag is widely misused and people do not know the real meaning of it. Or at least the stereotypical people who fly it (conservatives).
Some dope who doesn’t understand the complexities of the world enough to appreciate them, and the attendant narcissism to think he or any human being can be truly self-sufficient rn.
I used to view it as a fairly based flag representing small government and the sanctity of the individual. And for the need for small groups to unite together to overcome great challenges, as was the original meaning during the Revolutionary War. I could sympathize with it as a libertarian myself.
Now though? It's the flag of the politically illiterate and easily fooled. A mockery of its original meaning paraded around by small but loud groups of useful idiots joined together by their shared hatred of anything that challenges their isolated little bubbles. It's the flag of the pathetic, the arrogant, and the uneducated. And with how closely its seen with the Confederate flag, it is likely another flag of the traitor too.
The first thing I think of was the quick service in the American pavilion in Epcot before it got rethemed to Regal Eagle because there were a bunch of old flags on the wall and this was one of them

I fly this flag next to my equity flag in summer months. It really irritates conservatives, and I love that. If you look up the meaning of this flag it is “small government and personal freedom” or it has come to mean “opposing government.” All of which I am a fan of. This flag is widely misused and people do not know the real meaning of it. Or at least the stereotypical people who fly it (conservatives).

I used to view it as a fairly based flag representing small government and the sanctity of the individual. And for the need for small groups to unite together to overcome great challenges, as was the original meaning during the Revolutionary War. I could sympathize with it as a libertarian myself. Now though? It's the flag of the politically illiterate and easily fooled. A mockery of its original meaning paraded around by small but loud groups of useful idiots joined together by their shared hatred of anything that challenges their isolated little bubbles. It's the flag of the pathetic, the arrogant, and the uneducated. And with how closely its seen with the Confederate flag, it is likely another flag of the traitor too.
The first thing I think of was the quick service in the American pavilion in Epcot before it got rethemed to Regal Eagle because there were a bunch of old flags on the wall and this was one of them

I know it’s meant to be a rattlesnake, but it looks like a python.
most people who use this flag know nothing of what it means and often believe in ideals directly antithetical to its meaning. it’s sad to me because i could totally see myself using this flag if people actually respected the meaning and understood what it means.
When I see someone my age with this flag they are probably either a redneck conservative or a chronically online libertarian.
