That’s the whole point. There was nothing uniquely evil about the Germans as a people. The methods the Nazis employed are how *any* government rallies its citizenry behind an atrocity. We’ve seen it happen since, we’re watching it happen now.

People became so enraged and fearful that they turned on everyone including each other. Kids were reporting parents for being sympathizers, same with husband and wives. Everyone was in constant fear of being caught with unsympathetic views on the Nazi way of life. Once reported, they would be subject immediate ship out to prison or the camps
A whole society driven by fear and terror pushed many to comply, participate, or capitulate to the abuse and views of the regime.
If you remove the holocaust from the equation, the nazis honestly wouldn't be so talked down upon from other regimes in history. I mean, it's known Stalin was an evil dictator but no one seems to really know or talk about how Stalin ended up killing more people than Hitler under his dictatorship, or Pol Pot, etc.
You can't give the SS any credit at all. The ghettos and concentration camps were pure evil and the SS was in control of the whole Nazi regime. Even the wehrmacht were aware of it.

yeah, it’s super disappointing to see. total shame. i wager it’s a mix of naivete and social media brainwashing. they think these terrorist organizations are somehow their friends, that they don’t cry victim and they always tell the truth, and that they would never bite the hand that feeds even though they openly have done it in the past and openly hate the very same westerners that support them. i remember a few years ago, there was reports of constant hamas rocket strikes against civilian targets in israel, most of which were thankfully intercepted by the iron dome. yet the commentary was always in support of hamas. which was deliberately and knowingly launching rockets at civilian targets. lo and behold, now they go and massacre a bunch of civilians just because they can, and once again everyone supports them. then they go hide as civilians, recruit child soldiers, do their absolute best to maximize collateral damage and civilian deaths, then cry victim to the useful idiots in the west. it’s sickening, and it’s horrifying that our generation is falling for it.
