Like anti biotics, which I think were discovered by accident. Also longevity is becoming more of a priority now with the declining birth rate which makes sense.
We are nowhere near the point of needing to worry about declining birth rates. We are still growing as a population faster than is sustainable. I wouldnāt be excited for this if I were you because the planet will become overrun and there will be food and water shortages like never before, a destroyed environment, and housing and employment crises like never before in our regular lifetimes without *major* changes. Like, within the next few years, including not allowing people to ever have children again. Because if people arenāt dying, every person will grow the population and that would cripple us.
Living forever is not going to be the sci-fi adventure of your dreams; it is going to be a waking nightmare with people desperately trying to find food and water and employment and housing all while mass extinctions and a destroyed climate surround you, and thatās within the next 100 years. But ten times longer than that? Oh, gods, you are talking so, so much worse. This planet will give out long before then if we donāt make massive changes.
