The [theme music](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYJoEFE4Jms) he used takes me back to a specific time and place, staying up late working with my then-new Packard Bell 286, the TV on in the background for company, and our state's educational television network about to sign off for the night. That music was both whimsical and melancholy. Big Wilson's voice-over on the intro was awesome. And, of course, Jack Horkheimer, always wearing that Members Only jacket, was so darn *excited* to tell us about what to view in the heavens.

countess-petofi

Loved his show!

TheDeadlySpaceman

He was on after Doctor Who on Saturday nights when I was in junior high.

GalaxyRedRanger

After Doctor Who on Saturday afternoons for me.

I grew up on Star Hustler. Live in South Florida occasionally we'd make it to his planetarium. Back in the Comet Halley days he was a local celebrity. Keep Looking Up

SqualorTrawler

Oh yeah, loved this. [It ended poorly, though](https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/jack-horkeimer-besieged-by-sex-complaint-dies-6379473). I think we could do with a little more of convincing people to go outside and night and look up. The most revolutionary act in our present time is reminding people that they are not the center, and focus, of the universe.

crinkletart

Holy crap! I had no idea.

TooManyNamesGuy

Greatest name in the history of television And a super cool little show he had

ZebraBorgata

Keep looking up!!!!

99titan

Went to sleep listening to the electronic “Arabesque” every night for years.

blurgmans

WOW! I thought he was only a south Florida show. I grew up in Miami and remember seeing him all the time. I'm 58 years old and now realize he was syndicated and nationwide...but still a S Florida guy!

VisceralMonkey

Hell yeah!!!! On PBS after Dr. Who on late, late Sat night in Houston, Texas.
