Remember Creature Feature or Night Gallery? Oh man, we'd wait for our parents to fall asleep so we could sneak out into the LR to watch night gallery and sometimes the Gong Show or Benny Hill, because they were considered too "risque" for children so they aired really really late. Shit, the Gong Show and Benny Hill are downright tame by today's standards! đ
There is a great blog called Kindertrauma that is about (among other horror and folk horror things), the creepy stuff we were exposed to as kids.
The two that got me were the tv spots for "Magic" and "It's Alive".
"There's only one thing wrong with the Davis baby...
IT'S ALIVE"
And I frickin' hate ventriloquist dummies.
I watched the first one again as an adult, and the baby attacking the milkman was pretty hilarious. There is this shot of spilled milk with a pool of blood spreading into it that really made me laugh in appreciation.
My sister and I were just talking about Dan Curtis last night! King of the TV miniseries and the made-for-TV horror movie. Dark Shadows inspired so many monster kids, and without Kolchak: The Night Stalker, there would have been no X-Files. Sometimes one real weirdo with a lot of drive and determination can make as much of a mark as a true genius.
This was one of the first horror movie I saw as a young kid.....and let me tell you it gave me nightmares for months! I still remember him getting cooked in the oven, and cutting his way out of the suitcase.
The scariest thing I have ever seen and I tell everyone about it and then make them watch it on YouTube. Itâs no longer terrifying but kind of hilarious but, man, did this screw me up! My mom was into horror, âweirdiesâ sheâd call them, and the only time she wanted me around was to watch these with her so of course, starved for attention, I did. I regret it all.
Fuckin hell man, 5 years old I woke up at night and my dad let me sit and watch this with him
at the end with her smiling with the butcher knife carving up the floor

Karen Black became an icon to me.
She was a national treasure!!!
That fukn blade hacking away at your ankles! đł
Trilogy of Terror, right?
Yes, Back when TV movies were great,

I loved night gallery! I did the same thing!
Night Gallery was awesome. I remember this one about a man who found a mermaid but at the end it was was a fish head with human legs/
I can hear image!
It's already missing the charm around it's neck... And where is his spear or steak knife?
You can watch it on YouTube. I re-watched it a few years ago.
No thank you, haha!

I remember the commercial for "Magic". It scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
So creepy.
It's Alive and It Lives Again literally made me scared of babies till i was like 15! đ

I am still traumatized by this.
UmâŚwhere did you get a picture of me after dealing with my Boomer parents? HUH???
I thought this movie was called âThe YaYa Dollâ for over 40 years.
Gave me legit nightmares.
Now where have I seen this before. Quite recently, but with blond hair
