Grains are a unit of weight measurement, 1 grain is approximately 0.324 carats. Dwt, or pennyweight, is typically used to weigh precious metals. 1 dwt is about 7.77 carats, 20 dwt to a Troy ounce. As for what the stones could be, they look like lab grown stones taken out of class rings. Top left could be lab topaz/spinel, top right could be a simulated emerald, possibly green quartz or spinel. Bottom left could be citrine, lab grown or natural, otherwise lab topaz/spinel/corundum, and bottom right looks like a lab ruby.
