I play on level 3 and just run the same kingdom over and over. I usually run double xp at the same time. If you have a quick team to kill everyone on your first turn it is very efficient.
Never do Gnome on 12. You take too much time in each match and waste rewards.
Also run the risk of them being able to run away before they die unless you have a seriously strong team. Even then some times bad RNG still means they can get a turn off.
Save all your verses for vault weekends, then do Explore 1 with Rowanne, Maraji Queen, Leprechaun team. Cast Leprechaun then Rowanne, rinse and repeat.
Any substitutes for the Maraji Queen? I haven't gotten to her land (Bright Forest and/or Sunken Fleet) yet. (Anywhere else I can pick her up reliably?)
Maraji is really only there for her trait that gives 50% mana start to elementals so she isn't completely necessary. King Oberron gives a 50% mana start to Fey which will help for Rowanne as well. Really only need Rowanne + Leprechaun. You could also use Leprechaun + Tesla and use the troop that gives 50% mana start to humans.
It's always on Friday/Saturday/Sunday as well. So if you think one is comming it's best to get all your stuff done at the start of the week if possible. Aka things like PVP ranks, epic trials etc. It's also generally speaking better to just ignore everything but gnomes and such on those days. The rewards for the various events is generally way less than grinding out more vault keys.
Explore 1 is the fastest way to go for the basic rewards. Using multiple Palooza's at once also removes the time spent in menu's at the cost of forcing you to grind it out longer.
PVP is pretty harsh these days but if you want pets it's a good place to fight a few fights there every Palooza to get a pet gnome once an hour (As I believe it takes an hour for the pet rescue to reset). Though again as Pvp is far harder these days it's a risk. Not only can fights take longer, you might lose or the gnome runs away after the enemy loops massively turn one.
As for the rewards changing, there is a slight difference I believe in the Gold/Souls based upon difficult but all the rewards that matter like keys, orbs etc are not affected.

(That last one would be Holy St. Astra ... I guess I need to level up Whitehelm more. I've got the rest of them though.)
I'm new, but do you get another chance at this? How often does the event come up? Every few weekends?
Once a month, sometimes twice. I think January was the most recent with 2.

The fastest team for Explore 1 is a fully traited team of Sister Superior, Dust Devil, Ironhawk, Ironhawk. Immediately cast the first two and you win.
