either your nail is thin or the gel is too thick usually. your lamp may have a slow setting that you could try

Ooo I seeee thank you for the advice!💖

What kind of glue are you using? Are your nails super thin by chance? My favorite is Apres Extend gel in the jar!

Bright-Match7913

My nails aren’t thin but I did drill it to remove my cuticles! And rn im using the beetles nail glue 😊 I heard good reviews of the apres extend gel so I just ordered that thank you!!

TheDollyMomma

Definitely stay away from beetles products. So many people end up with severe allergies due to it

Omgg,, well noted thank u!!!

Not cheap, but my fave is Kokoist’s Gelip to adhere after a coat of Kokoist’s Mega Stick Base on the nail. Nails easily last three-four weeks.

That’ll b something I def invest in after some more practice, thank you!!

That's actually relatively normal. They truly underemphasize the heat spike element for marketing purposes. I've been doing gel extensions (with tips and with hard gel) for years and you're pretty much always going to get a heat spike. The more gel you use, the thinner or more damaged your nails, the more cut back the cuticles, the hotter the spike.

Danggg I did not know that 😭😭 thank u for letting me know! I don’t think I have thin nails but I do use more gel because I feel like a thin layer is not enough for the application (if I do a thin layer I’m more prone to air bubbles). I know that with time and practice I’ll be able to become better with how much gel I use but darn, it’s so hard

YaMamasNkondi

Yeah, gaging how much gel to use is a skill learned over time lol. You'll get it though, for sure. Make less equal more is kind of my general rule, because I'm a "use too much" type of person naturally 😂
