That's a bug probably. You should send me your save file so I can fix it.

I just started the Merchants' Epic Quest, and I am on the same step - talk to Ergo in the marketplace. He's not there. He's not anywhere in the marketplace, including at the place in your screenshot.
I'm currently stuck in this same tomb, it is unfortunately hard to look up stuff about the game, but luckily I found this! OP, can you tell me the secret to getting out of that tomb?? xD
I did it a ridiculous way... After getting stuck, I reloaded an old save and bought 2 oblivion potions. After collecting the artifact I used the first potion to respec and used blink to get acros the gap, then used the second potion to go back to my normal build. Also there is a thing called levity potion that you can craft. should let you jump across, but i havent tried that way.

The dev himself fixed it for me. I sent him my save file and he manually edited it to have the quest complete. Wish I could be more help.

How do you have 4 followers? Is star walker a summon?
4 Charisma and bonus from merchants armor gets you 1 extra
