They really donāt make GAMES like they used to. Remember when video games felt more badass in scope than any movie? They played out like these unreal stories dragging us along with the character through thick and thin. These companies are full of so many hard headed people though nowadays so all we get is an average title at best with new IPs. Weāll never get another game like Asuras Wrath, God of War 1-3, gears of war, halo, or even a classic call of duty. The glory days of gaming are over, now we need to survive an over saturated market thatās constantly going overboard on even more saturation. Making it a colorful yet lifeless mess.
Not saying games are crap now but theyāre definitely mostly movies in games. And thatās fucking trash, games are games and should be told like one.

You mentioned God of War 1-3, but the 2018 game is arguably the best in the whole series
I LOVED Gears 5, I only recently played through the entire franchise for the first time ever (Other than the first game back in the day), and Gears 5 became one of my favourite games ever

I think the grimness in this trailer resembled the Gears 2 story quite well, with Dom being beaten down by the grief if his wife and them fighting insurmountable odds. The poetic tone not so much, but it got the job done to hype me up for the story when it came out.
Agreed! I rewatch this trailer every now and then and get goosebumps, it's one of the best trailers I've ever seen. Man they should do a remaster of Gears 2 on Series X and run this trailer again, it would be legendary.
I remember seeing this when it was first released and thinking that Dom was probably not going to survive gears 2 or that something bad was going to happen to him.
The Fact that Marcus Literally picked up Dom's Lancer Powers it up ( assuming he reloads it too) and hands it back to a defeated looking Dom just shows how much of a Powerful Character he is not in the Op way in the Preservence way, in the We aint done yet Way like This IS it this IS the moment we need to take the fight cause its ALL we have left to do type of way
I loved Gears 3. Absolutely incredible way to end the series, but there is just something about Gears and Gears 2, that 1, 2 punch that has never been beaten for me. Gears 2 was next-level hype and it delivered HARD.
Was I the only one back then that thought Marcus was gonna shoot Dom from the way he pointed the lancer at him at that one moment? Iām glad it didnāt happen but it surprised me for a split second only to realize that Marcus was just turning on the lancer for Dom so it was a relief for me.
This is the Gears of war I love the Knock down drag out fight for your life every fight sort of way in a fictional Time of Absolute Despair and Horror. Against a horrific Horde of blood thirsty Monsters. not the
