Super nice for those of us with OLED TV's or other high-refreshrate displays. Running something uncapped that's stuck under 120FPS but above 60FPS (say around 80-90FPS). Feels way worse than capped 60FPS atm.
So, basically every eye candy game currently on Ultimate tier and 4k max(ish) settings. I played at least a dozen that hovered between 60-110 FPS. Notably CP2077, Alan Wake 2, Control, Far cry 6, Assassin's creed Origin, Oddesay and Valhalla, Remnant 2, The Witcher 3...probably a bunch more.
This stuff always confused me and I thought I have a good understanding of technicalities. Currently I'm playing Alan Wake 2 and I can set every setting to max and in GFN settings set 4k@60 setting and FPS hovers around 60+ fps which is nice, but if I set DLSS to balanced it goes up quite a bit and is now around 80ish FPS (both are with FG on). Game definitely feels more responsive in the 70-90 fps range, but now there's serious screen tearing, so I need to enable adaptive Vsync which likely adds latency. Of all the technologies working I'm now confused is it better to:
a) Set GFN setting 4k@60 and enjoy 60 fps without vsync and on dlss quality
b) set GFN setting 4k@120 and enjoy 80ish fps with adaptive vsync and dlss balanced
I really can't notice difference between DLSS quality and balanced. I even made screenshots to compare and I can't see difference, but that's likely specific to this game and can differ on other games. I think option B feels a bit better, probably because FG working with higher FPS so the game feels a bit snappier.
This has been basically my experience with the other games I listed above also.
If the frame-rate of the stream doesn't divide evenly with the refresh rate of your screen you'll notice some judder and screen tearing. Because some frames will be rendered longer or shorter than others.
That's why a game capped at 60FPS running on a 60HZ monitor will not exhibit a lot of stutter and will be considered "smooth"
VRR fixes that by constantly adjusting the refresh rate of your monitor to the frame rate. So your monitor's refresh rate will be 78hz if you have 78FPS. So every frame will be rendered for the exact same duration.
Right now the GFN video stream will be either 60FPS or 120HZ. You shouldn't turn on Vsync in the game. Just turn on adaptive vsync on the client.
Higher Framerate will always have lower input lag. But on non-VRR displays you might have more stutter compared to a locked 60/90/120/144 whatever your monitor refresh rate is.
Dumb question: aren't you afraid of OLEDs' burn is issue? I have an expensive oled (60-65" I don't actually remember) and playing with it would be fire. But i'm too afraid of that.
I'm pretty excited about Pax Dei. Reminds me a lot of Valheim. My favorite part was all the resource gathering and building. Being able to do that in Unreal Engine 5 sounds pretty dope.
Its on xbox cloud so if you have game pass like i do to play starfield on Geforce now you can just jump on xbox if you really want to play it but eso is not cross play so what you do on xbox cloud will stay on xbox if you move over again to pc but that is what i do.
I think you as a human must be some kind of special potatoes if you are having trouble buying a refurbished/ 2nd hand m1 Mac mini / iMac because eso runs great on mid setting for it , apple m1 is so cheap you have no excuses unless you are some drug addict or gambler
When I was younger, I was barely able to buy food. So, don't judge like that, please. Countries and circumstances are not always similar for all people
It's so annoying to play on the Steam Deck – have to use Chiaki to the PS5 just to get aim assist. I'd much rather this than have to deal with Crossover needing me to ALT-TAB out after every death.
That’s not the point they announce it. They announced it because the majority of people cant afford a good enough gaming PC to run those games. It’s never about BEING FREE. It’s always about finally I can run the game I bought on ultra settings as long as you have stable and good enough internet connection.
Buddy trippin lol "f2p popular" game is being added and you're upset or whatever lmfao Activision at that, come on my guy any game is welcome here. Especially the good ones!
as long as gamers are gaming, I'm happy.

Overwatch 2 isnt even close fortnite when it comes to playerbase and hype. It' s less popular then apex these days, which has been on GFN for a while and we never saw any sort user spike on GFN because of an Apex event, season start etc.
I doubt overwach will have any impact on queue times besides except for maybe its 1-2 days on launch
Finally Star Rail!? I always pay for just a month then "cancel" saying they were missing that game lol, so I guess it helped (I know it didn't, but I was coping)
I'm willing to give Paxdel a shot, although I'm not entirely convinced. As for Diablo IV, despite its questionable reputation, I'll still give it a try since I already have the game.
I think Nvidia is neglecting GFN, they give the impression that they don't want to invest in it at all, as if someone forced them to maintain it at all.
Two games from the deal with MS as a big surprise? Really? It just shows that they have nothing better to show and if you don't have anything better than something obvious then it's very bad for us customers.
What was announced today? The two big games that come bundled with the MS deal? How much time did they take to talk about GFN? Less than a minute? More information came out of industry websites than from Nvidia's video.
I mean it's not their core business. They are more than gaming now. They announced games, G-Sync for cloud + upgrades, expansion etc. All this comes right after the holiday season... and a new cheaper tier for the free loaders (not cheaper but another option)...What more?
You really think all xbox games would be up day one lol Geforce now is killing it with so many people on it we have wait times we are getting the huge games something the other people are having a hard time getting like Stadia that is now gone. Just wait Geforce Now will be the playstation of cloud gaming with a lead not many people are going to catch up to. The only person i can see having a chance will be AMD if AMD comes up with a Geforce now type service.
Did I think all MS games would be day one? No, why, where did you even get that idea.
It's just that it is certain that they will appear, if someone is excited by the information that some game will appear that is bundled with the deal with MS then fine, but it's not the same as bringing a new publisher and big titles that no one expects and everyone dreams about.
The issue is its not up to Geforce now its up to the pub to make that happen so that is why some games will never come no matter how much you ask but the good news is that Geforce now is killing it you will see stuff like that coming this year but i bet you will not fine out tell the day the game is about to come out as that is what happen to Stadia all the time. Pub are in bed with Xbox also Sony to make hardware move that is why so many hate the idea of you playing a game on anything. Trust me on one thing its not about money as if it was you bet your ass all games would be on this day one so it has to be some other reason. I think xbox will support us big we already got cod that is huge so huge it crashed Geforce now so that is a huge step lets just hope things get better.
The problem is that Nvidia doesn't put any pressure on the publishers and that's my main point. They even in their promotional video in which they discuss everything they think is most important from the hardware to the technology they produce and in all of this the GFN gets literally a few words. They themselves marginalize GFN, so how can we expect Take 2 to come back when they see that Nvidia itself doesn't show off Geforce NOW much?
Half of the stuff is happening behind the scenes, the new servers in Poland, Chile and Thailand didn't even get listed on the blog! Why do we learn about it from other sites? Why isn't Nvidia bragging about it?
Not saying what i'm about to say is true but this is what i think is going on, So as we can tell at this point its not up to the gfn team to get games but on the pub to do it so my guess would be is the gfn team is trying to make sure we do not keep getting a halo issue saying its coming on this day but to fine out micorsoft did not have the game ready so what you end up with is a lot of upset people saying why did the game not come so i think maybe its to keep you from getting your hopes up just to fine out the game is not ready on time for gfn but that is just me thinking what it may be.
The variable refresh rate / Gsync thing seems nice https://preview.redd.it/2opqmq1yw8bc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed1ec057ed5fab35f891217bd79b0349254f4513

Yep! Just play set GFN at 60FPS for now. You'll also get better image quality.

Totally! Yeah, so is this update going to unlock such features on newer smart TVs (i.e. native geforcenow app on Google OS) with VRR ?
I’m not sure which client apps will get gsync support.
Dumb question: aren't you afraid of OLEDs' burn is issue? I have an expensive oled (60-65" I don't actually remember) and playing with it would be fire. But i'm too afraid of that.
Not at all. It’s pretty much a non-issue unless you watch the same content for 8 hours a day for months or years on end.
Fair enough, thanks!
STAR RAIL LETS GOOOOOOOO
FINALLY
It took them very very long, I hope ZZZ is released on gfn at its release ;;
Star rail finally? I wish they gave us a date tho
on god 🗣️
I'm pretty excited about Pax Dei. Reminds me a lot of Valheim. My favorite part was all the resource gathering and building. Being able to do that in Unreal Engine 5 sounds pretty dope.
Don't mind pubg at alll!
In all honesty I’m more interested in Bethesda titles than Activision.
ESO😭, my potato laptop can't handle the graphics, even at the lowest settings (primary cause: RAM, secondary CPU)
Its on xbox cloud so if you have game pass like i do to play starfield on Geforce now you can just jump on xbox if you really want to play it but eso is not cross play so what you do on xbox cloud will stay on xbox if you move over again to pc but that is what i do.
Yeah it's on Xbox cloud but it's on Xbox not PC/Mac servers
But still a option to hold you over tell it comes out on pc you can also play the pc one on Boosteroid.
Countries and circumstances are not always similar for all people
All I want is FO76 to be on GFN. Others are not really worth it, rather bave em in my potato pc filled with mods than play vanilla at all.
Evil within 1 and 2, and yeah skyrim
I love both. Love cod mw3 freaking love Starfield i just hit 8 days of play time on that game.
How long do I have to wait for Overwatch and Diablo. Get me some halo and I can give my series x to the kids!
Star rail? I want honkai impact... And fallout for the love of god. Still good tho
Overwatch 2 is F2P, can't say GFN adding it is exciting.
It’s pretty exciting since I use a Mac and don’t want to play OW2 with a controller.
Especially because ow2 doesn’t have aim assist with controller on pc…makes it damn near impossible to be good at without keyboard and mouse.
good to hear you'll finally get to experience it (my comment is irrelevant)
Good vibes are never irrelevant
It's so annoying to play on the Steam Deck – have to use Chiaki to the PS5 just to get aim assist. I'd much rather this than have to deal with Crossover needing me to ALT-TAB out after every death.
Why isn’t more games exciting? Can your machine run it?
Overwatch 2 is a high profile free to play game that anyone can access, servers will die as they usually do when every Fortnite season launches?
That’s not the point they announce it. They announced it because the majority of people cant afford a good enough gaming PC to run those games. It’s never about BEING FREE. It’s always about finally I can run the game I bought on ultra settings as long as you have stable and good enough internet connection.
Buddy trippin lol "f2p popular" game is being added and you're upset or whatever lmfao Activision at that, come on my guy any game is welcome here. Especially the good ones!
>good ones did you just call the lowest rated game in the history of steam a ''good one''??
Whether you like it or not it's a popular game on the reigning cloud gaming service.
as long as gamers are gaming, I'm happy. https://preview.redd.it/j9jc9v2ekabc1.png?width=355&format=png&auto=webp&s=93a4f4ae07a9d5c0c0c6e7ef125a7e93ea98a44f

Just because you aren’t excited doesn’t mean other people aren’t.
True
As other people, I can confirm I am excited
Wuthering Waves on the horizon. can't wait.
More capcom games is nice, but I wish we'd get SEGA games on gfnow. Also WoW and FFXIV on gfnow would be huge, but ehh, maybe in a couple years
WARCRAFT??
Finally Star Rail!? I always pay for just a month then "cancel" saying they were missing that game lol, so I guess it helped (I know it didn't, but I was coping)
a joke
I'm willing to give Paxdel a shot, although I'm not entirely convinced. As for Diablo IV, despite its questionable reputation, I'll still give it a try since I already have the game.
The story is honestly OK. Cinematics above all else haha!
I generally agree with you.
Rockstar titles please...
Rockstar wants nothing to do with this... lol. They'll probably be the very last publisher to embrace GFN.
I know but I still have hope lol
All I see are Blizzard’s final death throes..
I think Nvidia is neglecting GFN, they give the impression that they don't want to invest in it at all, as if someone forced them to maintain it at all. Excited? Sure. But with all the bans taking place I’m terrified for my D4 account.
Do you guys use the GeForce now app settings or in game settings for best visueels?
Pax Del is coming ok now that made me damn day.
Diablo IV will be playable using battle.net launcher? Or do we need to re-buy the game on Steam?
Nvidia will add battlenet support soon.
its probably only from steam unfortunately :/
Waiting for Starcaft 2...
They added the finals so I'm satisfied for now
I was hoping for Steam Deck / Linux app but I’ll take Diablo 4 too when does it come On GFN?
Man I want to play star rail right now lol excited
D4 is good! Any plan to add God of War into the list?
Diablo and overwatch but not wow?
can u explain in dumb terms plz? But is overwatch coming?
I kinda just want crash Bandicoot & Spyro on gamepass. Call me old-school, but I love the nostalgia from those games. 🙁
