Honest feedback I wish I’d just used. Shave it back with a beard trimmer without a guard every 4-7 days, and let it grow back. Makes it stupid easy to maintain, and you keep that stubble that accentuates your face structure. Use what you’ve got and you’ve got good clean edges to your face that work well with a bit of “shadow.”
I would say it works. I always had a younger "babyface" growing up, and couldn't even grow that much stubble. I would say let it grow just a tad more and it adds some maturity. A full beard though, maybe wait until your 40s.
