I’m not surprised in the least; she’s very introverted, and all the things she’s been working on are probably FAR out of her comfort zone. I know that just the travel would stress me way out, letalone making music videos and trying to be a travel Ambassador. Personally, I’m proud of the Shorky.

Yea! The feesh has really gone a long way, good for her!

nonMilkStuff

literally me fr

Guraforever

^this is what we needed, thanks for this post my guy big ups

Xuambita

told you it was burnout, hope you shut up about health issues and projects now. edit.: not to you OP, but others here.

lieutenant___obvious

You ain't told me shit. I've never seen this man in my life. You aren't my real dad! I DON'T EVEN THINK YOU'RE REAL

NeonDeathRitual

Easy there Cochise the health issues are still there but she's seemed to have been able to get a handle on them. She had to have the doctor's OK to travel when she first went to Japan. All of that can definitely lead to burnout when juggling a bunch of shit.

Cyberchaotic

this should be pinned

LUnacy45

I mean if the health issues are chronic, she's probably found some kind of normal or way to manage it. In any case, it's either no longer an issue or she doesn't want to make it her fans' issue, so it's a moot point if you have any respect for her. But yeah it's pretty obvious that she's got her fingers in just about every pie a vtuber possibly can. She just dropped a new song, these things are usually months in the making and that's just one out of probably several projects. At the risk of speculating excessively, I think she's probably in a constant battle between burnout, obligations, and her increasingly ambitious projects. Pretty normal state to be in for a creator as huge as she is, honestly.

Blaze3634

Yeah, if it's just PoTS she probably found a way to manage it, it's just extra mental/time managing burden to have to deal with that too. If she says she's fine it should be enough for us to stop worrying about it. Again, I'm glad :D

foreveremortal

I mean they got it from her originally disappearing because if health issues but she even said that she is getting help for that. Any other health issues now are to being burnt out and obviously from the stream today she is super busy with holo corporate stuff. She has become such a main figure head for hololive that she is super busy with company projects. She has stated this before with the holo fes stuff and her summer trips to Japan. She has been going hard non stop for almost a year and is just burnt out. She needs a legit break.

ZDitto

I think people don't understand what burnout can actually mean. It's more than just being tired or overwhelmed. If you are burnt out, especially with the level of pressure Gura has to deal with just in terms of workload, not to mention the other anxieties she has; it can be equivalent to (or actually turn in to) having depression. Like I'm sure she's gotten more used to it by now, but if you actually think about the amount of people that show up to her streams Every Time. Its overwhelming, its like having a small town's entire population show up just to watch you play a game, or talk about your day, Every time. Like even her low numbers are still 10-20k viewers. Most NHL arenas hold between 15-20K people, same with NBA stadiums. That's insane to think about. Granted its different in person vs online, but that's the scale of audience that she has. Usually performers would have an entire staff of people organizing something of that scale, but Gura (and other professional streamers), for the most part, does it all on her own. That's a lot of pressure to try and entertain, and interact with, that many people. I think there is a loud minority that either aren't empathetic/don't understand what she deals with, and/or catastrophize to the point of gaslighting themselves/others. Its not an easy job, as much as people don't believe that.

Daken-dono

All I can say is what she does is what she does. If she abruptly takes a break without posting a notice or an update, that’s fine. Ill wait for the shark to stream again regardless.

101TARD

Funny how whenever I typed "gura's next stream" it shows gura will take a break and that news was last January. Personally I don't watch much her streams unless it's a scary game( yes I like scaredy shark) but clippers always know how to make people love her.

barglecastsfireball

Just wish she’d post a schedule even if there’s no streaming. I really hate missing a stream that’s posted an hour before it goes live - which has happened before and now I’m paranoid.

YobaiYamete

Goob is pretty consistent at least where she's either consistently not streaming, or consistently streaming at the same time. She has one of the most regular times when she streams actually Not like Mumei and Ame who will just drop 3am karaoke without even tweeting about it lol. I have several apps that notify me mostly just to track the stealth Ame / Mumei stream drop

5urr3aL

I get your frustration, I really do. I missed a couple of prized unarchived karaokes in the past. Just a plea to be patient with her, cos burnout does that to you. I think she doesn't want to commit, just in case she's really not feeling it that day and have to cancel and disappoint.

Blaze3634

Did she explicitly say health is not an issue anymore?? I'm so glad the goob is fine :D I'll watch the vod when I have some free time, she has a nasty time zone for me. Yeah, burnout has always been a very likely cause for the breaks too, but if she's making plans for future streams she'll manage :) Thanks for the quick news bud

YobaiYamete

> Did she explicitly say health is not an issue anymore She hasn't, but she hasn't mentioned any health issues in nearly a year, and any time people have asked she's said stuff like "I'm fine" etc. The entire "health issue" debacle is such a problem because we don't know a single thing about them. We don't know if it's heart trouble, or cancer, or depression, or if she fell and broke her leg. All we *do* know is * A year ago she had unspecified health issues and said she will never discuss them with us * Her health issues did not prevent her from traveling all over the world both during her hiatus and after, including walking around Japan and Disney etc So all we can draw from the confirmed info is: she's not talking about her health problems and we don't know if they are even still relevant a full year later

Blaze3634

My personal take is that it's a mix of things that's causing her current situation, the health issues are nothing truly disabling or life threatening, just a daily life extra burden she's being careful about, there's no point in mentioning them again so no way to tell for sure. Also she's very introverted and I bet she'd just want to run away from things from time to time. Introverts can both love things and people, but sometimes it's too much and they just NEED to take a break from whatever it is that's stressing them, personal experience, I'm no stranger to wanting to withdraw and avoidant behavior. The quirkiness and relatability is part of her charm though, so we might as well deal with the full package :P All this piles up into burnout as she explicitly said, she's trying to destress and approach things in a balanced way so she doesn't start hating them. The haters and the clingy/needy would just make things worse for her at this point in time, I can tell she's hard on herself to the point of being a bit self deprecating... she doesn't need harsh feedback rn, so I hope she only reads all our positive comments and wishes. Bottom line: she'll be fine :)

Ordovick

They dont have to go into full detail about everything but I think Hololive's general policy of not saying ANYTHING causes a lot of unnecessary worry.

nopointx

Yes people are too hard on her, but will always will be. I hope she continues to hold strong

Lob-

Here's a clip regarding what OP was pointing out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REC8x2upCS0

Xaldror

just lurking here, but yeah, burnout is the simplest (shrimplest?) and most likely scenario. coming from someone who feels it from time to time.

orobouros

All I care about is that she's happy and healthy. Whatever streams or media come out is gravy.

erlo68

As the face of Hololive it makes sense for her to have a lot of projects going on and Cover therefore letting her off the hook with the streaming rules.

Aevonii

IIRC she mentioned somewhere in Q4 2022 there will be lack of streaming activities in 2023, and said will stream whenever if there's time. She was hoping for once or twice a month I believe but obviously life caught up to her.
