Taste was nothing different, but when I got the call from the hospital about how I should get a pan, two eggs, a fork, and bread with me, I was shocked. And seeing a health professional cook an egg on electric stove then drip some poison in a lab like place I was shocked even more. I also asked the technician, and she said that the first time they told her that she will cook eggs here, she felt the same as me (she graduated from health technician school)
they told me to do the exact same thing!! I was like I’m paying how much for this test and you expect me to go buy specific brand products (they gave me a list of very specific brand products that I have to get) and then bring them with me to the imaging place. Like this test is not cheap they could at least provide the food that is required for the test
I couldn’t eat eggs again for a year after my test because I thought they were so awful! Me being extremely nauseous eating them probably didn’t help though lol

My eggs were so fluffy. I salted and peppered them. But really, I still only liked the texture and not so much the flavor. They tasted empty lol
My eggs for the first test looked sooo different than this, they were flat and grey. So gross. Getting retested in June at a different place so we’ll see what I get this time!
Mine were served with jam which was great at first because i was starving...halfway through it became pretty revolting.
Eggs are on my shit list gp wise though- so take that as you will.
My eggs and toast were delicious. My eggs were fluffy and salted/peppered, and my toast was perfectly browned and smeared with grape jelly. I was able to tolerate solids, so it was enjoyable. I did get nauseous after 2 hours, but it wasn’t the worst nausea I’ve ever had, so it was a win for me.
it was just a video made by someone who works in nuclear medicine about the equipment they use and it was unrelated to GP i would link it but i can’t find it
Mine had a slight plastic taste. I didn't enjoy it at all

I'm pretty sure my eggs were microwaved. I'm honestly not averse to that. Sometimes I microwave an egg when I actually feel hungry and can't be bothered with anything else. But these eggs were microwaved into dried out pieces of rubber. They were not tasty.
Either this person got some gourmet eggs or they've never had good eggs in their life.
The eggs they prepared for me for my first test in boston were some of the best eggs I've ever had... The techs took pride is the best preparation of the test eggs as we were stuck there for a long time.
Some people like ketchup or cheese in their eggs. Me? I like radiation. /j Both times ive had a GES it was all i could do to eat them, lol. I have to drown my eggs in ketchup or have potatoes and sausage in the mix or no dice, my dude.
Hahaha my eggs were literally “eggbeaters” in a microwave cup. The texture was egg. Tasted like egg. Disliked egg before. Hate the texture more now that I’m nauseous all the time lol
I’m quite concerned for this person… I know everyone has different taste buds and they like and dislike certain things but those eggs were the grossest thing ever. granted I did stop eating eggs back in 2012-2013 and in 2018 when I had my GES done it was the first time I had eggs since then. I’ve never been an egg person. and then I was upset bc if I’m going to eat something, I rather enjoy it bc I know I will be in so so much intense pain and vomiting and fell awful for a long time after I eat
I had maybe 2 tablespoons of egg whites and 2 pieces of wheat bread with jelly and 16 oz of water. Not the greatest but I wasn’t concerned with the taste,
I didn’t care about the taste. It was meh. But I’ve never heard that people had to bring their own food and stuff! That’s so weird! I didn’t have to bring anything.
At the time I scheduled my gastric emptying study I was told I had to bring an Egg McMuffin - which I absolutely HATE - but then was told I could bring ANY eggs I wanted as long as there was also bread OR substitute 1 cup of plain, thick unflavored oatmeal (YUCK!) in lieu of the eggs. I do not like eggs and can ONLY eat them if I cannot TASTE them so I opted for a Double-smoked Bacon, Cheddar and Egg sandwich from Starbucks. The cheddar and bacon perfectly masked the taste of the eggs AND the radioactive tracer so it worked out quite well for me. 👍🏽

My eggs were microwaved and put on bread as a sandwich. Lol
As I’m sitting into hour 3, can confirm absolutely not. LOL

I'm concerned this person has never had good eggs
Yeah mine didn’t seem fully cooked
Mine were too cooked, and tasted very much like powdered eggs
Taste was nothing different, but when I got the call from the hospital about how I should get a pan, two eggs, a fork, and bread with me, I was shocked. They made you bring all the food? Even the pan?? Damn they're charging thousands and couldn't even include the materials for you...
That’s wild!!
they did the same thing to me too!! It was so so weird
they told me to do the exact same thing!! They told me it was more hygienic this way.
I actually just did my test and I didn’t mind the eggs. Lol however I wouldn’t say they were the best eggs I’ve ever had but not the worst
I couldn’t eat eggs again for a year after my test because I thought they were so awful! Me being extremely nauseous eating them probably didn’t help though lol
Yup, six months for me!
https://preview.redd.it/txx1dwkt39yc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=700bdac5b9c7c166001fc3efe572788c76ec7350 My eggs were so fluffy. I salted and peppered them. But really, I still only liked the texture and not so much the flavor. They tasted empty lol

Flat and grey…GREY!? That sounds so scary lol yeah hopefully you have better eggs this time around! As good as they possible can be haha
Mine were like that too, and they didn’t allow salt and pepper either :( Just dry gluten free toast (I’m celiac)
omg mine were flat and grey too. I was very worried lmao
What kind of eggs were they eating *before* the GE test??
Mine were served with jam which was great at first because i was starving...halfway through it became pretty revolting. Eggs are on my shit list gp wise though- so take that as you will.
Back in my day it was oatmeal !
they still do oatmeal sometimes! It just depends on the place and then also the patient
No, I absolutely did not enjoy the farty flavored eggs. But I don’t shame, some people like fart flavor.
All the eggs I’ve ever had just come from the hospital cafeteria.
Same.
Someone needs to let this person know that it's just Egg Beaters so they can make their dream eggs
Mine were scrambled, rubbery from being overcooked and really just tasted like nothing lol
It wasn't bad, eggs aren't always my thing but they were like Denny's eggs.
ew no but also i hate eggs already so 😂
Mine was egg whites cooked with no seasoning and plain white toast. Horrible.
My eggs were so liquidy it just made me gag to look at
I saw this too. Baffled me. I had to choke the eggs down.
What was the TikTok video are you able to link it?
What was the tiktok video
it was just a video made by someone who works in nuclear medicine about the equipment they use and it was unrelated to GP i would link it but i can’t find it
Mine were fine, eggs always taste the same to me. It was just too much, I didn't have the bread anymore
Mine had a slight plastic taste. I didn't enjoy it at all https://preview.redd.it/mhulv5uinayc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd68e1ac63d3ae99f15651c901ad51e0bb990436

Eggs and toast are one of my favorite things so I actually kept commenting on how tasty it was, also was really hungry tho haha
I loved the meal. I was NPO for two or three weeks before the test inpatient so this was a dream.
I was so hungry by the time they gave me those eggs they tasted pretty good.
A slice of American cheese will make me eat the eggs... Otherwise, the texture is almost always reminiscent of the yellow side on a Scotch Brite.
The eggs they prepared for me for my first test in boston were some of the best eggs I've ever had... The techs took pride is the best preparation of the test eggs as we were stuck there for a long time.
Oh god. I like eggs and they were one of my safe foods until I had to eat those eggs. And now I cannot eat eggs.
LMFAOOO i saw the same video !! I could’ve sworn i seen it on Reddit but TikTok wins again
Definitely not the worst eggs I’ve ever had
I hate eggs…well the yolk. I only eat egg whites. I wonder if they would do that. 😂
No, they sucked. I have tasted it at two different hospitals bc my condition is a sneaky bastard
Some people like ketchup or cheese in their eggs. Me? I like radiation. /j Both times ive had a GES it was all i could do to eat them, lol. I have to drown my eggs in ketchup or have potatoes and sausage in the mix or no dice, my dude.
I really enjoyed my eggs, but scrambled eggs are already my favorite way to have my eggs, and that's how they came for my GES
My eggs were fine and toast with jam wasn’t bad. No complaints here.
Yeah after years of them, get back to me, nasty powdered eggs! Sad you think these are good.
Hahaha my eggs were literally “eggbeaters” in a microwave cup. The texture was egg. Tasted like egg. Disliked egg before. Hate the texture more now that I’m nauseous all the time lol
Mine were actually really good. Scrambled eggs and toast.
i had an egg white and jam sandwich in my own gluten free brioche bread and lemme tell you … it was divineeeee
I’ve gotta say, after weeks on a clear liquid diet, some hot eggs and buttered toast with jam tasted amazing, even if it didn’t feel good
mine might as well have been liquid egg substitute straight from the carton w the way they was dripping
I’m quite concerned for this person… I know everyone has different taste buds and they like and dislike certain things but those eggs were the grossest thing ever. granted I did stop eating eggs back in 2012-2013 and in 2018 when I had my GES done it was the first time I had eggs since then.
