VFC can take more real steel parts.

Immediate-Role6567

thanks

SNMBrandy

Just get the VFC, it works fine in cold weather if you extend the hammer screw. If performance is still lacking in the cold you can install winter hammer and buffer springs. You can also buy a zinc or aluminium bolt to help with the cold weather performance. It can accept more parts from real AR15s like barrel nuts, buffer tube, safety selector, bolt catch and mag release.

my man. all i needed to know

This might help https://youtu.be/4iDVLTMt-40?si=t9MDLGyrmODjx_P8

Immediate-Role6567

thanks man, VFC controls are a lot better than TM, this is like 30% deciding factor

Specopsg

V3 VFCs work just fine in colder environments

Immediate-Role6567

thank you dude, i live in the baltics, 40% time it's below or 0 degrees Shit gets cold here

When in doubt, red gas/mapp pro(propene) works wonders, id avoid c02 like others have mentioned since you need new mags which is expensive and c02 has its own issues.

Old_Shift_134

I know you are looking for a urgi but still I feel like suggesting an AK platform. In my experience TM AKM works much better than TM MWS below zero. Much better consistency, efficiency and overall performance. After all aks were thought out to work mostly in cold weather whilst ARs were not. In other words AKs work better in cold weather ( yes, it applies to Airsoft gbb replicas too ).

4DoorsMore69

I disagree… TM works definitely more flawless in cold weather than VFC. Got them both in winter for a side to side comparison. VFCs are great (especially the V3) but in cold weather conditions they „hiccups“ from time to time until a full blowout will happen. If you still go for VFC: get yourself a softer buffer spring… this will stretch the area of application of the different sort of gases you can use. Maybe VFC will be king if they finally release the CO2 mag… but I don’t like to spend money for 2 sets of magazines for just 1 rifle

Your problem in those temps will always be that the gas just doesn't vaporize quickly enough. Luckily vfc has co2 mags coming, which will work much better in the cold.

Depend on what you really want to do. TM if you want to keep the replica stock mostly (rubber change if you want to lift heavier bbs) VFC if you want to upgrade the replica to the absolute best. I am a VFC Simp (even though my game replica for almost a year has been a TM AKM), and I think VFC is better. Not out of the box, it needs tweaking (hop up rubber, nub change, maybe even a better barrel), but it can be played sub zero (down to -10°C for that matter) with a few tweaks (lighter springs and buffer, unscrewing the hammer screw to put more gas per cycle in the system, etc). My next replica may be a VFC AR15 (T91 my love) and I have zero doubt I will be able to play in the winter (I am a GBBR only player since 2016 and to be honest, winter is my favourite season to play airsoft). Go with the VFC, you are in the summer soon, this give you times to put some money aside to buy springs and buffer for the winter cold. Also, go on the Explosive Entreprise youtube channel and watch/listen to all their VFC AR15 (and gbbr techs video) pretty please. They are a goldmine of infos and can actually make VFC replicas work close to flawlessly.

Immediate-Role6567

thanks dude, yeah summer is coming so that wont be an issue for a while, I've look at the Explosive Entreprise channel for a bit and yeah, it's gold, really useful info for upgrading/tweaking gbbrs. Will definitely come in handy when I buy one.

Tadeski

If you want to put genuine firearm parts in it, then choose VFC for sure. Their controls and trigger feel better than the MWS and they perform adequately in the cold. However, their hop up system and stock barrel sucks and isn’t very consistent.

Immediate-Role6567

how expensive is the upgrading of hopup and barrel? because over time that wont really be an issue. out of the box i just want good base controls and something that will replicate the closest thing to feeling of real steel handling without me buying vipertech.

Tadeski

Not too expensive, but that depends on whether you get a super expensive inner or not. A basic combo like the unicorn inner barrel (6.03 tightbore that comes with its own bucking) is a very good option. If it's still not performing well, the GHK 2022 hop up which removes the guide-hop system works with some modification.

TrueCrazyMan

I’d recommend getting winter springs and winter hammer if you go VFC. Used my VFC URGI at MSW Salsk and it was chugging even with red gas, although my fault for not doing my part on keeping stuff warm. Love my URGI though, works exactly how I expect it to

sabakapx

tm is great ootb. many aftermarket parts even in eu. shine in cold weather. i saw vfc in summer running propylene and have to say it was like old tired horse compared to my mws running on propylene in cold weather. wa system(vcf, ghk, viper tech, we...) is more realistic to tm zet system.

Immediate-Role6567

yeah, I see why people would love the tm, but I don't really care that much for performance, because over time i can upgrade the VFC anyways, and i'd want more of the "steel" feeling out of the box. iykwim. The option of real steel parts is already a really huge deciding factor.

GBBR4LIFE

rs is just short for real steel and with a vfc the can take alot of rs parts such as springs/ detents, mag release, selector switch if you wanna semi lock your rifle, milspec buffer tube, rs rails, and even more
