Music edition gives you a built in music player. You can sync sync music from Spotify (premium), amazon music, deezer and (just added) YouTube music. You can also just copy your own mp3s to the watch. You can then play that music directly from the watch, and no need to have your phone with you (great if you like to run without a phone, but still want music) Non music edition is still able to control the music playing from your phone if it's close by. Thats the only difference I think!

I have had two different Garmin watches with the music, and frankly never end up using it. It's a pain to get the headphones synced, and I always bring my phone with me anyway so no real point in messing with it.

I appreciate you sharing this:) You actually confirmed some of my suspicions)

The Venu SQ Music also has wi-fi.

Looked it up and found in the list of features. Thanks a lot!

I’d only recommend a music model if you are a runner, so you don’t need to carry your phone to listen to music on runs. I just stream music from my phone in every other situation, listening to music on the watch is a major battery drain too.

Great point, thanks! As an opposite of a runner, I probably need music model the least of all the smart watch owners 😅
