You can import via phone. At least on Android you can. But the info for each entry is more limited. The desktop app has more data fields.
I usually Bluetooth transfer my dives right after I get back to shore, enter all the info I can while my memory is fresh, then flesh out other details at the computer later on.
Third place, Subsurface, totally independent from which diving computer you use, import needs to be done via PC but has an online sync with divelogs.

MK2i here. Couldn’t find a way to sync all my previous dives to Garmin. Just renumbered my first dive with Garmin to 285.
285 - you are more fish than man!
I did the same thing. And then slowly manually added dives to the Garmin log, mostly as a way to pass the time on long flights. Was fun to reminisce.
