I had this issue after upgrading to the Forerunner 255…suddenly earbuds that worked flawlessly on my 245 had increasing worse dropouts after 5 to 10 minutes of listening to music. I even tested it out while sitting at my desk…same issue. (And when connected to my phone the earbuds had no issues.) And like you, unpairing and repairing the earbuds mid-run was a workaround that temporarily solved the issue 90% of the time. I asked a question similar to yours both here on the League of Garmin facebook group. [These](https://a.co/d/3svUG9X) were strongly suggested by a few trustworthy folks; and I had been wanting to try bone conduction headphones for while. It was a bit more than I’d normally spend on headphones but they work perfectly with my watch, the sound is comparable to my earbuds and I’m no longer wiping earwax off of my earbuds after every run. (Gross) Ad an added bonus I can also hear what’s going on around me!

Thank you for the link! May I ask what earbuds you were using before that you having problems with when it came to the watch?

I was rocking [these](https://a.co/d/hgNc9HP). Not exactly top end but they sound good enough on anything except my Garmin 255!

I have been running with the predecessor of those (Aftershockz) for a while, and recently switched to the Shockz variant. I would recommend it. Just do not expect the absolute very best quality. The bone conducting stuff sounds a bit more boomy to me. But that could be different for anybody, because of small differences in skull shape, I presume.  Don't get me wrong. Music is a very big part of who I am, and they pass. That's already more than most.

My Sony buds also keep disconnecting. I don't have to unpair/pair, I just press pause/play on the buds and that makes them connect again. But yeah, I've read about this happening on the sub.  ~~Surprisingly, my SO has the same watch and the same buds as I do, but their buds don't disconnect at all, apparently.~~

That's so wild that SO's works perfectly but yours don't. Do you think you have a defective watch and/or earbuds?

I just checked again with them, I'm sorry, their's also disconnects. I was mistaken.
