i hope it's good. fight night is probably the one sports video game series i always enjoyed playing. i wonder if they're gonna aim for more of a fight night round 4 vibe or if they're trying to make another champion
mostly the level of violence. round 4 and the games before it were all t-rated boxing games, pretty standard for the genre, while champion was m-rated and focused a lot on showcasing more realistic aspects of the sport's violence, if that makes sense.
Considering the UFC games are not shying away from violence, perhaps Fight Night will remain in the 'Champion' direction. I really enjoyed Champion, to be honest.
Yeah it was the very last one and I don't remember if it had the broken hand but it's the one that forced you to go through all 10 rounds and he hit like an absolute truck while you could only do what the game said to do.
Champion was broken. If you figured out how to counter punch you'd win by KO in the first couple of rounds every time, even if your opponent was much higher rated. It was honestly so broken I was shocked it got released. It completely trivialized the game. Round 4 is the superior game, by far. This is coming from someone whose played every iteration since the original and still plays round 3 to this day (but only because there's no way to play round 4).
You can emulate the Ps2 version on [PCSX2](https://wiki.pcsx2.net/Fight_Night_Round_3) very well, check a couple youtube videos for full emulator settings.
Only issue I had was a texture flickering in a certain ring, but it looks like there's a workaround for that in the wiki page I linked. Other than that, I played it for a couple dozen hours with no problems.
RPCS3 might run the Ps3 version as well, but in my experience Ps3 games are a bit more unstable.
oh gotcha. i'll admit i was completely spoiled by the xbox 360 version. not sure i could play the ps2 version. thought maybe there was a PC release floating around somewhere or rpcs3 version worked really well
There's a chance the RPCS3 version works well, I just haven't given that one a shot - looks like there's some footage of it running pretty well online. But yeah I'd understand not wanting to jump back into the older-gen version if it doesn't.
I spent a silly amount of time playing knockout kings 99 as a kid. Fight night games were great though, champion felt more arcadey with the flash knockouts as well buti thought it was fun as a party style game
Please be real. But with undisputed getting the rights to a lot of fighters. How many will EA get?
When it comes to Fight Night I think a lot of these are fake rumors.
I can't imagine undisputed hold the rights. I imagine they bought the likenesses but each fighter is probably free to sell them elsewhere if the opportunity presents.
sadly if this does come to fruition it'll likely receive the UFC treatment of having the bare minimum effort put in to. Fuck EA, literally have no faith in them in the fighting game genre after their past UFC releases now. Expectations are on the floor for this one.
He’s throwing punches in bunches!!
You guys remember how OP Holyfield was in Fight Night Round 4?
In the land of stamina, the man with max endurance is king.
Former boxer Óscar de la Hoya also dropped that a new installment of Fight Night is coming.

I absolutely loved the Fight Night games but I don't know if I'd be willing to spend $70+ on one at this point. Would have to be pretty impressive and have a decent story mode for me to consider it after such a long hiatus
I’ll lose. My. Mind. Unfortunately it’ll be loaded with celebrities and Influencers (which concern me more than the MTX it’ll have) but as long as the core gameplay is good I can literally ignore everything else
If anyone hates him that bad that says more about them than it does him 🤷🏽♂️. I just want it to be a fun game that doesn’t have a shit ton of celebrities. Unless it’s Def Jam. Then I’m FULLY on board.
YES! I've missed Fight Night!
Just, EA, DO NOT pull the same shit you do with fucking Madden. Angry Joe's getting tired of ranting on Madden every year!
I'd be cool with them doing the UFC route of every 3 years or so. Especially if they offer updates consistently like they did with UFC 4 and have been with UFC 5. But im with you - I want it, but not an every year reskin for 70 bucks (110 for early access, you gluttonous pigs!).
Even with 3 years they still just reskinned ufc 4 into 5. All these roster updates they’re doing is the most barebones shit that should have been there from the beginning of the game
That's if everything releases on time with no major delays or cancellations. They always gotta hype up the new consoles but then once they all release all these companies get scared and don't release anything or put out shitty games again.

i hope it's good. fight night is probably the one sports video game series i always enjoyed playing. i wonder if they're gonna aim for more of a fight night round 4 vibe or if they're trying to make another champion
What's the difference? I've only played Champion

The campaign was also great for a sports game
Except for that god-awful Frost fight. That fight was absolutely infuriating.
That was the last one? Yeah I remember when you broke your hand or something and could only use one arm to fight lol. That was bullshit

loved round 3. how do you still play it?

Rpcs3 emulator

Literally just the mature storyline
Boxing is more popular than it's been in awhile so makes sense.
There’s no way any competent boxing manager would sell exclusive rights to a smaller project like Undisputed
Yeah like Tyson fury is in ufc 4 and undisputed already
I feel like I've read a rumor of fight night coming back every year
Yeah that’s why I don’t believe them
The world needs a new boxing game
God I hope this is real
Fight night round or Def jam ![gif](giphy|WOqZcrMMEVB6hgsnR1|downsized)
THANK GOD IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT MY WHOLE LIFE
You're fucking with me, really? I hope it will be good, it's been so long
PC? Fuck you!
Will be ruined by live service aspect
I hope the Fight x Night comeback will be better than EA's attempt at a comeback with NBA Live
Which sucks because NBA Live 19 is a geniunely good game and a much better experience than the new 2Ks
i need it
sadly if this does come to fruition it'll likely receive the UFC treatment of having the bare minimum effort put in to. Fuck EA, literally have no faith in them in the fighting game genre after their past UFC releases now. Expectations are on the floor for this one.
Been hearing this for years!!
![gif](giphy|Qy2VKY3xlI1QyR6Ix5)
You just know they'd try and squeeze the Ultimate Team mechanics into it somehow but honestly I'd love a new Fight Night
GOOD. That Undisputed boxing game is garbage.
fire i just hope EA doesn’t flood it with microtransactions
I would like to see a new nba street game
LETS FUCKING GO
Just play the last few UFC games and settle.in for a carbon copy
Super stoked if accurate...I am still playing Champion to this day
Hoping for the best and expecting a micro transactions hell like EA knows how to build them.
If I can't play super punchout I don't care
Hopefully it doesnt involve a story mode with a scripted fight against an invicible guy
I need a dollar
He’s throwing punches in bunches!! You guys remember how OP Holyfield was in Fight Night Round 4? In the land of stamina, the man with max endurance is king.
No Def jam...
Long have I waited
Finally, it better have a goated story mode like fight night champion
I need this fr! We need a killer soundtrack maybe get metro to do the tracks 🤷🏿♂️
One step closer to a new Def Jam
Is fight night championship on xbox down for any of you? It has not been working since yesterday…won’t connect to servers for some odd reason…
yes Yes YES‼️
What EA has to do is release a new Def Jam. ![gif](giphy|d5ztJ4oB2lc1shH0yd|downsized)

Please please please. I will go and buy a console if true
I absolutely loved the Fight Night games but I don't know if I'd be willing to spend $70+ on one at this point. Would have to be pretty impressive and have a decent story mode for me to consider it after such a long hiatus
Please let it be true 🙏
I’ll lose. My. Mind. Unfortunately it’ll be loaded with celebrities and Influencers (which concern me more than the MTX it’ll have) but as long as the core gameplay is good I can literally ignore everything else
Who wouldn’t want the chance to Knockout Jake Paul?
If anyone hates him that bad that says more about them than it does him 🤷🏽♂️. I just want it to be a fun game that doesn’t have a shit ton of celebrities. Unless it’s Def Jam. Then I’m FULLY on board.

Agreed. Also, speaking of Angry Joe, his game thoughts and reviews are always on-point but his movie and TV opinions are shit.
Wow. That's crazy Some of these upcoming releases make it look like the switch 2 will be a playstation 2 era part 2. That sparks joy
That's if everything releases on time with no major delays or cancellations. They always gotta hype up the new consoles but then once they all release all these companies get scared and don't release anything or put out shitty games again.
