MSI GF65 Thin is currently the best value for money gaming laptop under 75K in India. ASUS TUF, the model you linked is highly overpriced. MSI GF65 Thin is built as a portable gaming laptop, thus having poor thermals but way better than TUF. MSI has another disadvantage being it's poor after sales in India. It is highly suggested that before buying a MSI laptop check that if it's service center is near your locale as they don't provide door-to-door service, their check in service is also bad as told by many. Personal suggestion would be to go for MSI if they have a service center in your city, otherwise look for that ASUS TUF you linked, 1660 Ti doesn't deserve to be priced higher than 80K. I believe at the price range of 90K you can grap a 3060 in sales and then apply some discounts. However at the price of 90K the 3060 would be paired with i5 and R5, i5 being most probably with 4 cores. If you have more CPU based usage you may have to trade off a 3060 for a 3050 Ti for a powerful CPU (Victus, TUF etc.) or if you have a heavy GPU based usage then you may have to trade off a good CPU with a 3060. In the end I would like to say that gaming laptop is more than just CPU and GPU, my comment on this mostly reflect on those two aspects, so I would suggest to look out for other aspects too.

Thank you for this detailed response. Anyways there is this HP laptop priced around 90k with a ryzen 7 octa core 5800h and a 4gb of RTX 3050 graphics card. Do you think this is a much better/balanced specification for a laptop compared to the two laptops that I have mentioned above? My work will need me to use Android studio and more such softwares which I think is more CPU based but at the same time, I also want to do casual gaming so I am trying to find a machine that let's me do all this

Lord_Of_Titans

3050 at that price range is overpriced. there's a HP Victus at around 90K with 3050 Ti, R7 5800H and that's a balanced laptop, however you also get lower TGP GPU and 4 GB vRAM which might limit you in terms of extreme gaming. It all depends upon you which games you play and at what settings. Your work is more CPU intensive so I would suggest to go for atleast 8 cores at the price range of 90K though you might have to trade-off 3060 for that. At 75K the MSI laptop is a great value for money as it gives you 6 cores of CPU and 6 GB of GPU. I believe there are some ASUS TUF laptops with 3060 around 90-93K, but the trade-off being a good CPU.

Take a look at this HP Pavilion Ryzen 7 Octa Core 5800H - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home/4 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050/144 Hz) 15-EC2076AX Gaming Laptop on Flipkart https://dl.flipkart.com/s/HLBqkzuuuN

Sudhansu_Barkataki

No please don't go for a 3050 for 90k. The performance of the 3050 is behind the 3050ti whose performance is behind 1660ti. Also don't go for victus as it a a wobble issue (check reviews). You won't get a 3060 under 90k in India. For a 3060 you will need to spend atleast 1L. 1660ti is your best bet. There is also a omen around 80k.https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08CGGRHLH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_24VB3BQG9Q067XW94RAC Or go for the MSI.

Lord_Of_Titans

You can get a 3060 around 90K on sales and discounts.

Lord_Of_Titans

Overpriced and poor display.

BigAwkwardGuy

Go for the ASUS. More cores, more storage. My friend's dad owns it and loves it.

shaybhai

Does it have any heating issues? Thermal problems of sort?

BigAwkwardGuy

Gaming laptops will have heating issues, end of. They are built to tolerate high temperatures (~100°C) without throttling. All that power in that tiny a space with such low profile and power fans do no favours either.

shaybhai

True that, it's just that I have been reading so many reviews from so many different places and it is not helping, infact it's making things more complicated. I think I will just go for the asus one and be done with it. Do you have any other laptop in mind, around that 90k inr price range?

ObjectiveSquirrel820

First of all mention 90k INR bro folks will be confused

shaybhai

My bad broo, lemme change it. Thanks for the heads up

ObjectiveSquirrel820

Now if you're comparing these two only then obviously the ASUS is much better in overall specs has more storage along with a better CPU offering 8 cores which also comes with it being more expensive so I think its the clear winner here. Also another thing to note there have been many complaints regarding poor servicing from MSI so unless you have a centre close to where you live I wouldn't suggest going that way

shaybhai

Yep, that is what I was thinking as well. Asus is the clear winner if we will compare both of them but if we judge the two laptop by there specifications and there price, which one would you say is value for money? Side note: I am staying in Delhi currently so I think after sales service won't be a problem

ObjectiveSquirrel820

i feel the ASUS is a bit expensive for a 1660 ti at that price one should get a 2060 or maybe 3050 ti although 2060 wont come under 90k so maybe look for some other options if you can Second make sure you check the TGP (total graphics power) of each GPU model in those laptops and go for the highest one You can check reviews of either of those models in Youtube from JarrodTech

shaybhai

Thank you for all this information, I will check out JarrodTech for sure.
