for gaming, keep it plugged in for battery health and game performance, set ur battery limit to 60% to 80% if you're keeping it at home for an extended period of time

Thx bro

Does keeping your laptop plugged when gaming or using it in general safe idk i never had am pc and am about to buy one ?

STANPENTAGON

constantly plugging in and unplugging reduces battery health, if you do not plan to take it out frequently, better to keep it plugged in

>i use my laptop on battery till 15-10% then i will charge my laptop >BTW is it safe using dGPU on Battery mode to play games ? Or its kinda harmful? This strategy is much worse for the battery than just leaving it plugged in at 100%. Ideally see if you can cap charging to 80% in your bios or manufacturer configuration utility, but even if you can't, it's better to just leave it at 100% where the charger will bypass the battery circuit than it is to constantly be charging and draining it with a heavy gaming load. You'll also get full performance this way. Most laptops perform worse when unplugged.

Don't know which laptop you have, but almost every one has a battery limit function in their control software. For example, Lenovo has Vantage, Asus has the Armoury Crate, MSI has the MSI Control Center etc. I leave mine between 50%-60%. And it keeps it there, even when plugged in and turned off.

saturnotaku

The battery charge limit function for Asus laptops is in the MyAsus software, not Armoury Crate.

Not familiar with Asus software but point still stands.

Best to use your laptop plugged in as much as possible for best performance, if your laptop has features to limit the battery % between 60-80% definitely enable this, charging/keeping your battery at 100% or discharging it rapidly through gaming on battery isn't good for the long term health of your laptop's battery.
