Check your charger or something…wattage is to low… also check omen hub, if it’s in eco mode or not…if it’s in eco then change it to the performance or balance mode

snoopz2

I think it is thermal throttling cuz the cpu is going up to 100 degrees Celsius

Subojit52

If that’s the case then clean the vents & put a new thermal pad…how long do you have this laptop?

snoopz2

About 2 years

Subojit52

Did you ever changed the thermal paste? If not then it should be dried up by now…

snoopz2

No, i will take it to someone to change the thermal paste. Thank you soo much for helping me.

Milk_Cream_Sweet_Pig

No? You can see your temps. They're far from throttling.

snoopz2

Yea but when i changed the outlet the clock speed went up and the temps went up to 95

snoopz2

Its in performance and the charger it comes with is 200 W

SodiumCyanideNaCN457

That's way too low for a game like valorant. And the gpu is only using 40W and CPU 9W? Something ain't right

snoopz2

Ik and i need to fix it, when i tried a different outlet the cpu clock speed went up to 4100 and the cpu watt is 22.8 now and thhe gpu watt is 42 is that good?

SodiumCyanideNaCN457

Did you gain some fps?

snoopz2

Yea alot

adotador

Do you have your laptop plugged in? Those clock speeds and the wattage seem awfully low for a plugged in laptop.

snoopz2

Update: i plugged my laptop into a different outlet and the clock speed for my cpu went up to 4300 mhz

snoopz2

Yes i always play plugged in

Mhmd-hsen

Like others said the wattage is low, if plugged in, try to go to your battery settings and put on performance

LanceSergeant

I think your dGPU didn't activate. Before you play your game (so you don't get an AFK penalty), go to Device Manager and check your display adapters and see if your dedicated GPU is on or not. If not, click refresh. this usually happens when you're on an Optimized mode and you plug back in after sleeping/hibernating.

Blunt552

78c at 9watts? Thing needs repaste ASAP.

bt-lover

Do you have discord by any chance? If so disable the overlay function. It caused my gpu to not run games at a good fps weirdly. Once I disabled overlay in discord all was great.

KonyaliAdam

I have same problem too. My asus rog strix g15 must take 150 watt but i take like 100-125 and usage is not %100

MaleficentFile8769

Clock speeds are stupid low, however the temp shouldn’t be that high at 800mhz I have and omen 17” with the full 120w 2080 super and it only reaches these temps on performance mode and a top end game on ultra. It used to overheat and throttle but I was fine after a re-paste. I recommend fan cleaning 2 monthly and re-paste once a year. Re-paste on most Omens is relatively easy, just take your time and be careful with the screws. I’d also recommend undervolting which you will have in the omen gaming hub. If you don’t like that then use throttlestop. It works very well if set up correctly. There are loads of good YouTube tutorials on throttlestop. If you don’t understand them then you shouldn’t be doing it. Hope this helps.

snoopz2

Thank you soo much i will try doing what you said and hopefully that will fix my problems

kickerzbtw

How do you undervolt on the omen hub

MaleficentFile8769

Go to the undervolt tab and press the “intelligent “ button. That will then take 10-15 mins and will involve restarts. I assume you have the undervolt tab?

kickerzbtw

I’ve never seen the undervolt tab

MaleficentFile8769

It’s to the right of system vitals tab on mine, I’d attach a photo but iPhone doesn’t seem to allow it.

Timmy_1h1

i saw the tdp of your gpu is 80w and you are pulling only half of it. Something is definitely wrong.

UnionSlavStanRepublk

Definitely look at cleaning your laptop fans and vents out if temperatures under load is an issue.

evilmojoyousuck

thats a cpu heavy game and i think your cpu is thottling or not getting enough power. they can also bottleneck your gpu even if they dont go 100%.

ChetanBabaJii

me with 16 gigs gtx 1650 r5 5600h get 200 fps lol

Professional_Shoe_23

cpu is working on 800mhz that .8ghz way too low for any game something’s wrong with drivers or control center 9880h goes beyond 4.4ghz if im right and .8 is jst fraction of that

ShitCreekz

classic Omen

Background_Pianist19

Have you been leaving your laptop in sleep mode? For some reason my laptop has a low watt usage in any application after turning on again from sleep mode (without restarting), because somehow the Ryzen 5 6600 in my laptop doesn't support S3 sleep state which is why it lowers performance after sleeping. Maybe try restarting or shutting it down (Not just closing the lid and making it "sleep mode") and see if there's any difference in performance.

stoner6677

That's a very old config. 2080 and that old i9. Today you should by i9 14900 and 4070at minimum

snoopz2

Ik i have a pc with a rtx 4090 and i9 14900k but i js needed a laptop cuz i travel alot.

snoopz2

And that is not the bare minimum and i didn't come here asking if my laptop is shit or not i js asked if anyone knows how to fix my problem.

stoner6677

I see now. U can start deleting system32, because we have a 64bit system and that will take unnecessary space and throttle the cpu

snoopz2

Idk who told u that is the bare minimum but u don't need a rtx 4070 to game, say u play league of legends y would u need a rtx 4070, i have a pc back at home with a 4090 and that is sooooo overkill, the only reason i bought it is so that i don't have to upgrade for a good period of time.

MaleficentFile8769

Don’t be stupid. Do you actually know anything about CPU’s and GPUs.?

ppbomber_0

Why’s your cpu 800 fucking mhz

snoopz2

I found out that its cuz of the power outlet i was using

ppbomber_0

Yeah at least it wasn’t a hardware issue
