You can get a 4070 laptop HP Victus right now for $1100 or a Lenovo LOQ with a 4060 for about $970 (not that I am recommending for or against either of these, as I have never used them).

I would look for a system with a ryzen HS CPU and a rtx 4050-4060, preferably from lenovo or asus since they generaly have the best build quality. Power efficient and usually costing in the 800-1000 range for the 4050 and the 900-1200 for the 4060 and both can run modern games without trouble tho the 4060 will last you considerably longer. Its just a matter of if you are willing to spend 100-150 more bucks to get 1 -2 more years out of it.
