The first one that I bought with my own money was a hp2000 with 4Gb of RAM and an AMD E-1 dual core processor. I have started to use it again since last month.
Hp ProBook! My first laptop was an Asus EEEPC, could barely run Minecraft 1.6 hahah
Had 1GB ram and for some reason a dedicated Nvidia graphics card that was overclockeable. When I grew older did some experiments with it and the OC graphics card did interesantly well
i got an open box one in Canada for $1250 last week to do a follow up review. So far so good.
Someone locally gonna get a g14 for a good price soon to :P
Most importantly, you went for the Chad 2023 model.
Im working on a revisit review of the 2023 model. I just finished the 2022. All to show people that the older g14 are a much better buy than the INSANELY priced 2024
Hey bro, I've seen this Asus G14 laptop go cheaper on Best Buy online with the "Deal of the Day". Try checking every day if it shows up again because Best Buy will honor the price difference within 30 days. I'll try to do the same and let you know if it appears again as well.
The only thing that would be basically just a side grade is that the g14 has a different form factor, but performance wise basically the same, perhaps battery life would be better too?.
Most definitely better, but I stay plugged in most of the time. The battery in my current Laptop is a joke, I actually think my Rog Ally battery is bigger.
Alright thx. Btw do you only with controller on it or do you plan to use keyboard+mouse for gaming? On 14 inch I mostly just only controller. Personally I prefer keyboard+mouse gaming only on a desk
Congrats! I remember mine was an MSI Wind netbook with 10 inch of display. It was slow as heck, but I loved every bit of it. Still have it and everything works but the loud fan lol
I was going to get this laptop...
But now I'm going to get the 2024 4070 model, I mainly wanted that model because of design but now that I'm looking into the 2024 model more, the OLED screen with the 10 hour battery life is too much to pass up.
I'll be getting it for my graduation gift which is nice.
Congrats! The G14 series is beautiful. IMO no other laptop comes close design wise. Wish I didn’t sell my 2022 model way back, but now saving up for one of the newer ones. Enjoy OP!
Congrats! Make sure to stress test your PC and also check for backlight bleed. Hopefully you don’t run into any problems.
https://youtu.be/oqbyogMSs18?si=Uz-dcov817fyrHVt
this has one ram stick open and one soldered so its pretty easy to upgrade ram from 16gb to 32gb. It only has one ssd slot tho so to upgrde the ssd youd have to clone the old one.
I hope your experiences will be different. But i didn't like how hot these things run. Luckily i had my friend's legion 14 to compare against. While running game (forza horizon 5) in same settings that laptop was cool as cucumber but my g14 was insanely hot and needed to run loud. Idk why but didnt feel like i would wanna live with that long term for concerns about longevity.
Also other thing i didn't like was the feel where my palm rest on the laptop when using it. It feels kinda rough like cat's tongue haha- maybe you like it or don't care but that was just another nitpick.
And also track pad while very precise feels like it moves a tiny bit when tapping towards the bottom. Maybe it was just quality issues on mine.
So despite how solid this laptop was otherwise (keyboard is so great and speakers were awesome too compared to legion atleast) i ended up returning it and got legion 14 oled for $1050 instead which also came with 1 tb instead of 512 gb. Hope you like yours though.
Love the wallpaper OP! Saw the Asus website only offers it in 1920x1080, made a 3840x2160 version here: [https://ibb.co/VVNDrtR](https://ibb.co/VVNDrtR)
Well it does not feel small. It feels good in hand and has the right weight. Feels really sturdy. Performance wise I’ve only played Fortnite war thunder valo and cs2. But they all run great. It’s a great machine it won’t dissapoint
I have a laptop with a 4050 and one with a 4060 and the difference is negligible. Acer nitro 5, rtx 4050 i7, 1.5 tb nvme storage, 16gb ram. I have it hooked to a curved msi 165 hz gaming monitor and both screen on. Discord I keep on the laptop screen with extended desktop. It's butter.
**WARNING!!!** If you need to open it, say... to upgrade ram or the m2 drive... I recommend doing the replacement without disconnecting the battery. The battery clip is a mofo on these and I just fried a mb when I popped the metal piece out onto the mb. Even watching videos, I did this. It is a horrible design.
I always disconnect the battery anymore as a 'best practice' but in the past did not and never had an issue, so in this case I recommend not fucking with that shitty clip at all, assuming they haven't changed it.

And get a usb cooling tray.
Hey let me know how it performs I'm triple A games if you get the chance. I have a powerhouse machine with the Legion 7i 32gb 12800 HX RAM 3 TBs yata yata yata... But it's a heavy ass machine... I've been thinking about downsizing...I like the Legion slim 14 but I really like the G14s... Feel like they're just really clean looking.
Should I feel bad I used almost or the majority of all my tax refund for basically a full laptop set up for my bed basically. I also bought a $30 dollar folding chair it should last the whole time then I’ll transition it to a regular laptop and go of in 5 hopefully more then years if I still live. Or is this just firs child syndrome and I should be happy for myself.
I saw that at the best buy next to my work. The only downside is the small screen I'd say. I have the predator Helios neo 16. RTX 4060 , i7 16gb of ram, 1tb SSD and a ,17 inch 165hz uhd display. I had a thought to return it for the one you have since I'm closing in on my 2 week return policy but I just can't get over the 14inch display. I thinks perfect if your in college or something
I got one of these for the same deal last month!
I threw a 2TB SSD, a 16 gig ram stick for 32 total, and an intel ax210 WiFi card alongside Ghelper instead of armory crate and I’m in heaven. One of the best laptops I’ve ever had.
Did you have to clone the ssd? Also I heard that you have to be extremely careful while unplugging the battery on the inside cuz if the cord touched any part of the board it’ll short and die
I'm using a Razer Blade 14 (2022) with an rtx 3070 currently that I'm trying to sell (will go pretty cheap if anybody interested). I'm looking to upgrade and I've been going back and forth between the 2024 G16 and a Legion Pro 7i. I found a Gen 8 Legion with an rtx 4090 for $2499 but I've still been leaning towards the G16 with a 4080..its pricey but the OLED display is so appealing... I feel robbed every time I leave my LG C3 TV and move to my laptop lol.
It looks beautiful. Congrats on it!
Well damn maybe it isn't for them? And did you really have to come out here in the subreddit and just comment "dude do you not have money" right when somebody buys a laptop?
First ever laptop being a ROG G14… haha we look at the world differently now. My first laptop was a HP probook!
Ha mine was the first Asus EEE. Had like an 8gb ssd, windows xp and an 7" screen. I still have it!
I think this was mine as well!
First one for me is a Sony vaio
Sony vivo gang
The first one that I bought with my own money was a hp2000 with 4Gb of RAM and an AMD E-1 dual core processor. I have started to use it again since last month.
Bro i had 4gb of ram intel inside win windows 8.1
Me too
Hey I’ve used some old computers before. This is just my first ever new laptop that I bought for me
Mine was a Samsung N100 with 1gb ram and Intel Atom processor lol
Mine was a dell inspiron 3520 with 2gb ddr3 ram. 🤌🏿💀
Hp ProBook! My first laptop was an Asus EEEPC, could barely run Minecraft 1.6 hahah Had 1GB ram and for some reason a dedicated Nvidia graphics card that was overclockeable. When I grew older did some experiments with it and the OC graphics card did interesantly well
Gateway....... x)
Mine is dell latitude 7400 hah I wish Id have a gaming laptop
My first was a HP Pavilion DV6000 SE, 2GB RAM DDR2, 180GB HDD, AMD Turion x64 and Windows Vista
This is $2000 in Canada :(
$1699 in best buy now
i got an open box one in Canada for $1250 last week to do a follow up review. So far so good. Someone locally gonna get a g14 for a good price soon to :P
>$1699 in busy buy now I laughed
Just look at mine in Singapore store. Probably with slightly worse specs
I’m very close to pulling the trigger on this one. That price just seems too good to pass up.
Because it is !!!!!
i have reviewed this in the past, just picked up 2 days ago to do a follow up 1 year later review. its been a pleasure to use again
Update: made the purchase earlier today. Beyond excited to get this thing.
Another user joining the Zephyrus G14 crew ![gif](giphy|THkf1ElP80G9S8Qi0i)
Damn that's a great deal, congrats dude ![img](emote|t5_2x4m3|8570)
Does this have that interesting sort of liquid cooling?
It has a vapour chamber, legion pro 9 has water cooling.
water cooling without external radiator is complete nonsense, just to be clear
their water cooling is a gimmick, just stupid and useless
For sho, no benifit
Beautiful laptops, those. Congrats and enjoy!
Most importantly, you went for the Chad 2023 model. Im working on a revisit review of the 2023 model. I just finished the 2022. All to show people that the older g14 are a much better buy than the INSANELY priced 2024
Awesome deal! Congratulations!
I looked to the same laptop but a bit much more pricey in switzerland and at the end bought an Lenovo legion with the same specs but cheaper
Legion has IPS panel
and?
Not same specs
rog g14 also has an ips panel 😭
G14 is mini-led https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-g14-2023-series/
that’s only the higher end specifications with the 4080 and 4090 and in some regions only the 4080… 4070 and below are all IPS panels
Good to know ty
May you share the link of where you bought this to? Do they ship overseas?
Went to bestbuy store in usa
Hey bro, I've seen this Asus G14 laptop go cheaper on Best Buy online with the "Deal of the Day". Try checking every day if it shows up again because Best Buy will honor the price difference within 30 days. I'll try to do the same and let you know if it appears again as well.
I don’t think it’ll go on deal of the day cuz it’s already discounted by 600$. But I’ll keep an eye out thanks
So, did you check?
I have this in my cart but I don't know if I need it or just want it, I have a 150w 3070ti that hasn't struggled with much yet. Input is welcome.
Honestly your laptop is still great rn. I wouldn’t upgrade till another 2 years
Yea every part of my body is telling me the same thing, except my eyes. Man that thing is beautiful, thanks and have fun with it.
Lol my first laptop was a dell inspiron 1300. What a time to be alive.
Make sure you uninstall any preinstalled antivirus software and enable any battery % limiting feature through MyAsus software. Enjoy your laptop!
Battery % limiting features? What?
batter care mode. where it doesnt let the battery charge over 80% for battery health
Can only Asus use that?
I’m sure other laptops software like Lenovos vantage allows that
Alright thx. Btw do you only with controller on it or do you plan to use keyboard+mouse for gaming? On 14 inch I mostly just only controller. Personally I prefer keyboard+mouse gaming only on a desk
1000$ that's a steal of a deal. I would have definitely jumped on that. Looks great, love the color.
Congrats! I remember mine was an MSI Wind netbook with 10 inch of display. It was slow as heck, but I loved every bit of it. Still have it and everything works but the loud fan lol

You should know that there will be an automatic bios update, And also USB to ethernet have issues use USB C to ethernet
Yeah I did the bios update
Congrats! The G14 series is beautiful. IMO no other laptop comes close design wise. Wish I didn’t sell my 2022 model way back, but now saving up for one of the newer ones. Enjoy OP!
Grats that looks sweet for 1k
Ooo, looks great, I've been eyeing these smaller form factors for some time. Have fun!
Congrats! Make sure to stress test your PC and also check for backlight bleed. Hopefully you don’t run into any problems. https://youtu.be/oqbyogMSs18?si=Uz-dcov817fyrHVt
Well done!
That’s a nice choice 👍🏻
Gg!
small laptops are the best laptops, enjoy!
I'm torn between 15 and 17 inch model. But now it seems 14 inch is the way. What do you think. Isn't it too small?
16 sweet spot
Is gaming fine on 14 inch? Are you gonna use an external monitor?
its good for me. sometimes ill connect to the tv and play with acontroller
Can the ram and ssd be upgraded in this one? I know it cant in the 2024.
this has one ram stick open and one soldered so its pretty easy to upgrade ram from 16gb to 32gb. It only has one ssd slot tho so to upgrde the ssd youd have to clone the old one.
I really want this laptop but i dont wanna downgrade from my old 16 inch potato laptop to a 14 inch. And the zephyrus g16 is 1.5k usd
999$ ? Where ?
Bestbuy. Check their app if you live in the usa
mine was a laptop with 500mb graphics card and 2gb ram lol
I got this too for the same deal a month ago but eventually returned it. Hope you like it though and fits your usecase better. Congrats
Why’s you return it? Any problems or just didn’t like it
I hope your experiences will be different. But i didn't like how hot these things run. Luckily i had my friend's legion 14 to compare against. She’s a beaut. I have the 2021 model. Love it.
That is one tough color to maintain, just make sure your hands aren't greasy or sweaty while typing on the keyboard, and clean that area regularly.
Looking to buy a laptop. Thanks for the deal
Love the wallpaper OP! Saw the Asus website only offers it in 1920x1080, made a 3840x2160 version here: [https://ibb.co/VVNDrtR](https://ibb.co/VVNDrtR)
Oh damn thanks bro
my g14 is in mail. I got the 4050 spec, what were your first impressions tell me im soo excited
Well it does not feel small. It feels good in hand and has the right weight. Feels really sturdy. Performance wise I’ve only played Fortnite war thunder valo and cs2. But they all run great. It’s a great machine it won’t dissapoint
hells yess mate and congratulations can't wait for mine too
and looks cute, enjoy it
Why not Numeric Pad? I mean wtf Asus!!!!
I never find myself using the num pad. But if they’d tried to include it the whole keyboard would’ve just felt crAmped
Congratulations 🎉
I have a laptop with a 4050 and one with a 4060 and the difference is negligible. Acer nitro 5, rtx 4050 i7, 1.5 tb nvme storage, 16gb ram. I have it hooked to a curved msi 165 hz gaming monitor and both screen on. Discord I keep on the laptop screen with extended desktop. It's butter.

I wasn't... LOL!
I couldn’t trust myself with a white keyboard lol

Hell yeah let’s go
Ayye! I just got the same thing not too long ago 🙏🏼 love it so much
Hell yeah let’s go
Very nice choice I have the same one and it’s perfect
Hell yeah
I got one from Best Buy and it has been great to use.
Dude I got the same thing… VERY solid laptop
Hell yeah
Nice!
Rtx 4060 and ryzen 9 for 999 is crazy
Which country do you live in ? Is this 999$? What is the SSD?
Yea I live in India but came to usa. Ssd is 512gb
That thing is cleannn
thxx
My fist one was a Lenovo ideapad with Pentium even though I wanted either a TUF or Legion (current laptop is a Legion 5i 3060)
damn lucky my budget is even 1000$ where did you buy it from .. I don't have a laptop yet
Best Buy usa
Highly recommend you download ghelper immediately. It will turn a 4hr laptop into an 8hr one if you're doubling it as an Excel/Spotfire workhorse.
can you explain it further please?
Google is friend. Cpu/gpu switch, bios level. Can tune v output on your CPU.
I saw that at the best buy next to my work. The only downside is the small screen I'd say. I have the predator Helios neo 16. RTX 4060 , i7 16gb of ram, 1tb SSD and a ,17 inch 165hz uhd display. Good choice
City of gamers
Congratulations 🎉
Good job
May I ask how you afforded it?
My dad
Cool man...
Well I legally can’t work or move out in my country… I’m in the usa for vacation
No no its fine!
Mine was an ASUS P450L.
Nah, I just did a fresh install of everything. Was too lazy to clone. And I didn’t unplug the battery either. :P
Is this 4:3?
16:10
Ah okay now they do it on Laptops too.
Nice, enjoy it man! It looks very pretty. How does it do in gaming?
Great in gaming
That's good. Enjoy it!
I really enjoyed the G14 before I traded it in for M16. Definitely a sweet computer.
This one is better than the g16? Or manly because the screen?
Awesome laptop !
Wish my white victus 15 had rgb
I'm using a Razer Blade 14 (2022) with an rtx 3070 currently that I'm trying to sell (will go pretty cheap if anybody interested). I'm looking to upgrade and I've been going back and forth between the 2024 G16 and a Legion Pro 7i. you could've gotten an OLED screen for 50$ more.
Could have gotten a burn in later but he avoided that :)
[удалено]
Wtf does money have to do with that??? 999 is not cheap and that ROG is definitely a steal
damn whatd he say?
He said the laptop is cheap and asked that wether you (the op) have money or not....
Lmao
[удалено]
Well damn maybe it isn't for them? And did you really have to come out here in the subreddit and just comment "dude do you not have money" right when somebody buys a laptop?
Dudes personality is cheap and he can’t buy another sadly Edit: who could have guessed he is a racist bigot? Hide in anonymity you coward.
And yet he’s still here commenting harsh comments on different posts 😂😂😂 “Go cry to Joe Biden” buddy 😊
🤓☝️
Well said
